I say black guy lost due to not being able to knock out that weak Thai fighter and got fuc up himself. All those knees from the Thai to the mid section made him weak in the final round
Umm with all due respect I'd give the Thai 1 round out of 4. He fought well in the last round but got kicked in the face repeatedly. Backhanded even caught a fly kick. Overall great fight but the Thai needed a knockout to win he didn't get it so he lost. PERIOD!
What many fail to realize is muay thai is tactical subversion and not full frontal like MMA. You get under the person's skin and strike. That is the art of Muay Thai.
I thought the Black Fighter won in my mind - he kept having to chase the Thai around the ring & even called him to come & fight. I am no expert but I enjoyed watching them in the rings while in Thailand in 67-68.
unfortunately the black lad played the typical western game, thinking the first and second round will be counted. first round is always used as a tester round in thailand.
having said that, if the fight had taken place in europe i think the black lad would've won, due to the fact he was the aggressor and took the fight to the thai. we dont seem to score technique as much as aggression over here.

@asianr0se Thais don't punch as much as Westerners. It's not in their nature. In Britain particularly Thai boxers tend to hold their guard a lot closer to their head simply because their are too many good punchers for the traditional Thai guard to be effective.

I agreed with the decision. I have to admit I didn't watch part 1, so maybe they were lopsided or something. But round 5 absolutely was dominated by the Asian guy. When the black guy put something together, it was more flashy, but what I saw was the Asian shutting him down and kicking the hell out of him. Beginning of the round, black guy tries some kicks and almost all are checked, while the Asian guy lands most of his kicks in the side or leg. Wasn't long before the black guy gave up kicking.

The thai didn't match it at all. Sure he gota few more knees in, and some extra low round kicks. but he was clearly more damaged. another round or 2 and the thai would have been knocked out. I'm not biased,,,my wife is thai. This was bad judging
addys....I was only 18 years old when I first fought with a 30 years old farang. That farang was 20 pounds heavier than me. Most of the farang boxers are much older and heavier than thai boxers. They won't match pound to pound with us. Just something you should know.

The last round does not decide the whole fight. If you win all but the last round, the fight is still yours. Even Though punches don't score any points in Muay thai, I still maintain that they thai should have lost. You don't have to agree, I'm just commenting.
Well thankfully the judges who been doing this job alot longer you gave the right decision. You were over impressed with the black guys punches of which he landed a few good ones on the thai but overall his punches and kicks were sloppy. He basically tried to dazzle the judges into giving him the decision. The last round tipped the scales in the thais favor! But it was a good fight!
fair enough your entitled to your opinion, but if you watch the fight from the begining you'll notice that the thai used several clinch throws,kneesand hundreds of knicks throughout the fight which is what scores big thia boxing, the black guy was just aggressive and was trying to throw punches and elbows.Elbows score highly but punches are worth shit especially if there hitting air or gloves.
depends how you score .. i always look at who was hurt and who was continually infflicting damage ..the thai guy was taking too many serious shots and was hurt worse a nd would have lost had this fight continued on the course it was on ...many lil hits that aren't effective don't count by me .. the black guy won and the thai guy was lucky he wasn't hurt worse
You guys clearly do not know how thais score fights. The Thai fighter scored alot more knees, more throws and was dominant in the clinc. Thai fighter was the obvious winner
i totally agree with that decision the thai fighter was stronger, not by much but he wont the last round very well which tells you he is the strongest in terms of stamina and technique.
In Thailand the later rounds, in particular 4 and 5, are more important than the earlier ones. In round 1 and 2 the fighters are usually given 10 points each almost regardless. That is why there's usually a fairly slow pace during those rounds. The pace normally doesn't pick up until round 3 and the winner of round 4 and 5 is considered the tougher and better fighter. I think this might be why the Thai fighter was declared the winner in this fight, he won the last 2 rounds pretty convincingly.
I woud have given the first two rounds to the black guy, the middle was even, then the second two rounds to the Thai for his throws, and more intelligent fighting style.
The black guy should of won,did they even subtract points from the Thai for kicking the black guy while he was down,2 times he did it and his knees were not to effective.
Honestly, I would hate to have to be any of the judges to call the winner of this fight, it was to close. All i know is at 3:28 the black dude got tossed aside like he was a rag doll. On da real though, I could not indulge in scoring with the panel. It was a close fight, despite the black dude gettin' thrown to the side.
yea, I'm not sure how the scoring works, but if knees and kicks score more points, then I gotts say the thai guy took it. While the black guy did get more crisp kicks to the face, the thai guy murdered him in the clinch. I think he knew that and tried to minimize the effectiveness of the Black fighters punches and elbows. Though alot of those elbows and punches landed, the thai fighter wasn't really hurt by them. Good fight tho, I would've gone either way.
People who said the black guy won obviously had no idea how the scoring works in Muay Thai ring fights. It doesn't matter how "aggressive" you looked, it matters only how TECHNICAL, and how many points you scored. It's mathematical, more point = win. The fight is held in the UK, btw...
Good decision. Round 1 and 4 to the black fighter, round 2, 3 and 5 to the thai. Knees and kicks score better than punches in muay thai. Round 2 and 3 the thai crushed the other fighter in the clinch, then was more aggressive with kicking and clinching in the 5th.

The last round is the most important round, even though the black gentleman did dominated those other rounds. Point system for muay thai is in the last round and who shows the most skills win, but again I think the black gentleman won.
I have no idea what you're trying to say about the Japanese, mostly because your words are extremely vague. If you think that they aren't unfair against foreigners, though, why is there only one foreigner permitted per each Sumo stable, and why does it take so much more for them to reach top rank? They are no longer at the top of their national sport, so they stack the odds to maintain a presence. Or maybe you knew that and I just couldn't decipher your message.
The first round, black guy did a lot of using energy but not a lot of good. Second round, he kicked ass. Third round thai guy owned. In short, round one went to nobody, round two was black guy, round three was thai guy. Hence the close score. Even so, the deciding factor (as other mentioned) was the knock downs and the knee's, both of which thai guy out did black guy at.
personally i think they should take of the gloves, put some handwraps on, dip their fists in glue and rub them in broken glass. then go to the jade buddha temple and fight on the 20 x 20 foot area where fights of honour took place back in the day

Thai had better technique and knows how to win a scored fight better, he may not be the aggressor whole time but he knows how to win. The other guy just wanted a K.O any way he could throwing wild elbows. Punches do not count as much as kicks and knees under thai rules! good fight though, If the Dutch won the fight they would have given it to him, I think the judges were sick of watching thais win all the time anyways

1)Later rounds are weighted more and Weit lost later rounds 2)Weit made a lot of fouls like grabbing the rope in clinches and during kicks 3)Weit threw a lot of strikes but they were largely ineffective and you only score for effective strikes 4)Some strikes are favored over others i.e. Knees over punches

The thi gave a million more kicks and knees. the other hit only one or two good punches and kicks but was always on the ground... he should learn what real thai boxing mean.
If you were watching the same fight I was then you'd know nearly all those knees and kicks MISSED or were BLOCKED. (yeah I was watching closely and was suprised, I guess the thai rate on good effort cause the thai guy was trying but it wasn't working. About all the thai did was clinch and throw, and I admit the other guy clinch work kind of sucked. That aside the black guy did score a ton of elbows while being in those clinches

No! No! Look at the last round! The thais low kicks had immobilised the black guys left leg to the point where he didn't bother too block them allowing the thai to get more throws in!

The last round does not decide the whole fight. If you win all but the last round, the fight is still yours. Even Though punches don't score any points in Muay thai, I still maintain that they thai should have lost. You don't have to agree, I'm just commenting.

Well thankfully the judges who been doing this job alot longer you gave the right decision. You were over impressed with the black guys punches of which he landed a few good ones on the thai but overall his punches and kicks were sloppy. He basically tried to dazzle the judges into giving him the decision. The last round tipped the scales in the thais favor! But it was a good fight!

fair enough your entitled to your opinion, but if you watch the fight from the begining you'll notice that the thai used several clinch throws,kneesand hundreds of knicks throughout the fight which is what scores big thia boxing, the black guy was just aggressive and was trying to throw punches and elbows.Elbows score highly but punches are worth shit especially if there hitting air or gloves.

depends how you score .. i always look at who was hurt and who was continually infflicting damage ..the thai guy was taking too many serious shots and was hurt worse a nd would have lost had this fight continued on the course it was on ...many lil hits that aren't effective don't count by me .. the black guy won and the thai guy was lucky he wasn't hurt worse

You guys clearly do not know how thais score fights. The Thai fighter scored alot more knees, more throws and was dominant in the clinc. Thai fighter was the obvious winner

i totally agree with that decision the thai fighter was stronger, not by much but he wont the last round very well which tells you he is the strongest in terms of stamina and technique.

In Thailand the later rounds, in particular 4 and 5, are more important than the earlier ones. In round 1 and 2 the fighters are usually given 10 points each almost regardless. That is why there's usually a fairly slow pace during those rounds. The pace normally doesn't pick up until round 3 and the winner of round 4 and 5 is considered the tougher and better fighter. I think this might be why the Thai fighter was declared the winner in this fight, he won the last 2 rounds pretty convincingly.

I woud have given the first two rounds to the black guy, the middle was even, then the second two rounds to the Thai for his throws, and more intelligent fighting style.
This should have been a draw.

They both deserved to win this fight. Though the black dude showed too much unbalance when he got tossed outside the ring

Honestly, I would hate to have to be any of the judges to call the winner of this fight, it was to close. All i know is at 3:28 the black dude got tossed aside like he was a rag doll. On da real though, I could not indulge in scoring with the panel. It was a close fight, despite the black dude gettin' thrown to the side.

yea, I'm not sure how the scoring works, but if knees and kicks score more points, then I gotts say the thai guy took it. While the black guy did get more crisp kicks to the face, the thai guy murdered him in the clinch. I think he knew that and tried to minimize the effectiveness of the Black fighters punches and elbows. Though alot of those elbows and punches landed, the thai fighter wasn't really hurt by them. Good fight tho, I would've gone either way.

People who said the black guy won obviously had no idea how the scoring works in Muay Thai ring fights. It doesn't matter how "aggressive" you looked, it matters only how TECHNICAL, and how many points you scored. It's mathematical, more point = win. The fight is held in the UK, btw...

Good decision. Round 1 and 4 to the black fighter, round 2, 3 and 5 to the thai. Knees and kicks score better than punches in muay thai. Round 2 and 3 the thai crushed the other fighter in the clinch, then was more aggressive with kicking and clinching in the 5th.

The last round is the most important round, even though the black gentleman did dominated those other rounds. Point system for muay thai is in the last round and who shows the most skills win, but again I think the black gentleman won.

I have no idea what you're trying to say about the Japanese, mostly because your words are extremely vague. If you think that they aren't unfair against foreigners, though, why is there only one foreigner permitted per each Sumo stable, and why does it take so much more for them to reach top rank? They are no longer at the top of their national sport, so they stack the odds to maintain a presence. Or maybe you knew that and I just couldn't decipher your message.

The first round, black guy did a lot of using energy but not a lot of good. Second round, he kicked ass. Third round thai guy owned. In short, round one went to nobody, round two was black guy, round three was thai guy. Hence the close score. Even so, the deciding factor (as other mentioned) was the knock downs and the knee's, both of which thai guy out did black guy at.

Thai had better technique and knows how to win a scored fight better, he may not be the aggressor whole time but he knows how to win. The other guy just wanted a K.O any way he could throwing wild elbows. Punches do not count as much as kicks and knees under thai rules! good fight though, If the Dutch won the fight they would have given it to him, I think the judges were sick of watching thais win all the time anyways

1)Later rounds are weighted more and Weit lost later rounds 2)Weit made a lot of fouls like grabbing the rope in clinches and during kicks 3)Weit threw a lot of strikes but they were largely ineffective and you only score for effective strikes 4)Some strikes are favored over others i.e. Knees over punches

If you were watching the same fight I was then you'd know nearly all those knees and kicks MISSED or were BLOCKED. (yeah I was watching closely and was suprised, I guess the thai rate on good effort cause the thai guy was trying but it wasn't working. About all the thai did was clinch and throw, and I admit the other guy clinch work kind of sucked. That aside the black guy did score a ton of elbows while being in those clinches
