You know something horrible? i bought this game and always, since the beginning to the end i play with the fear of reach this part of the game, don't notice and glitch my game, i can't even play the game without worries!!!....but i finally beat it, and now i know exactly the portion of the game that could ruin my saved game....time to play it again

I'm sure Nintendo did not win over very many friends with this glitch..it took over 15 hours to get to this glitch and to redo it all to avoid the glitch seems to be non-motivating to play the game anymore. This will make me a little reluctant to get anymore WII games. I am sure that is not what Nintendo would like to happen.
Now I know not to save after killing that bastard. I just killed him for the second time, and now I know what not to do so I can continue this awesome game

I dont get why some people here say that they dont save and act all cool when alooooot of the areas is required to save in order to open the red door in front on the save station

Okay, you keep saying the boss, but which boss? Is it that silver thing you fight inside the building that looks like a trilobyte, the mysterious monster that apparently hatched from the little bunny critter, or the giant lava monster you fight after running from the lava as it chases you up the chasm, or a different boss?
@Celdrach its the really annoying boss, the one that keeps coming back over and over and over again. I believe it is the boss that attacks anthony in sector 3, but if you havent gotten to that part yet you wont know what i'm talking about.
@HyperSniperCo You mean the guy that attacks him directly, and Adam authorizes the use of the Grapple Beam? I've played through the game 100% a couple of times now, and I haven't triggered the door glitch yet, so I must not be doing anything wrong.

alright, here's a question for you and all the metroid fan's out there... i just finish the game at HARD mode, and the game does not save after i've defeat queen metroid, so technically, i just can't finish the game 'cause i can't go and fight Phantom at hard mode after the "first ending"... is it another glitch or is this game just a really BAD JOKE ?! I mean, seriously, i'm more than dissapointed... how can this be ?!

I have encountered a door glitch directly after the first fight with the Rhedogian. When running back through Sector 3, I came across a locked door in the room before the room with the save point before the bridge that is supposed to be covered in lava. I've inferred that the problem is that earlier in the game, in the same room, I fell through the lava in the floor, made an enemy disappear from existence, and the game thinks it's still there. In conclusion, falling through floors sucks ass.
also i found if you just don't back track it should stay green i beaten it 4 times now so i would have a total of 400% 4 times x 100% each time 4th time was 8 hours 23min with getting 100%
it might be a glitch but i ran into the problem and went and saved 3 times then did a charge beam and the door was green so i have no clue if this is a one time fix or not. i went back and the door was still green. M.O.M i found was a short game with 100% only 15 hours. But a very good one.

This glitch has a low chance of ever happening. Just think about it, the game gives you save points every five seconds. Going back and saving is a complete waste of time, especially since dieing won't start you back at the last save. A save point will come up soon anyway, so what's the point?
there was a room in dark sanctuary where you had to shoot 4 sonic locks on the ceiling and if you exited the room before shooting less than 4 and saved the door wouldn't open and you had to erase you saved game
and for those who never played MP2 its pretty close to the game's end so it sucks HARD i had it the first time i played

Wow, that's a pretty big fault! I mean what if you were on low health, but not low enough to be able to use concentration? That's something they really should have looked into. I don't see the point of locking that door in the first place. It being locked or open should not depend on that boos being alive or not. I guess I might have been to prevent anyone from going into that room sooner by sequence breaking, that's the only good reason really.

This sequence of events will cause the door in Sector 3 to be locked:
1. In the room after the large lava area in Sector 3, battle the Space Pirates to unlock Ice Beam
2. Proceed to the second room ahead
3. Defeat the enemies with spiked, purple legs to unlock the door at the end of the room
To CREATE the issue: Dont go through this door. Instead backtrack to the room where the Ice Beam was obtained. Continuing to play from here creates the issue
I´ve played the game two times (Normal and Hard) and this haven´t happen to me, But I really don´t remember if I saved the game after defeated this boss.

Initially, I never had an issue with this door problem. I beat the game on normal for my first run and on hard for my second. Now when I played the game on normal for the third time, the issue arose. However, after beating the boss mentioned in the video, I never saved; I went straight to the lava room and the damn thing wouldn't open. I will give it a wing tomorrow and see if all is well.
this glitch never happened to me on PAL version, even when I saved again after the fight with that mini-boss. So I guess owners of the PAL version don't have to worry about this?
What the dong--How's that a "50% chance" if you have complete control over whether you go back to the previous save room and save? I've never went back and saved at the previous room. Maybe I would if I had to go and I just finished beating the boss or something, but yeah. It seems like you can avoid this glitch 100% of the time if you know about how to trigger it.
@LordYggdrasill I never saved after beating the boss, but no matter how many times I reload to a save point before beating the boss, I still get the Red Door that's locked.

@kNIGHTWING01 Oddly enough, I played this game and beat it without encountering this glitch (while saving after killing Rhedogian) and then lent it to my friend. He told me that he was stuck because he encountered this glitch. I had to give him my SD card with my data which was saved right before the boss that enables Super Missiles. Luckily for him, I love fighting him in every Metroid game he appears in, so I save right before his fight so I can relive the epicness.

I just beat the game, got 100% of the items, and found the "Irreplaceable" item Samus was looking for. Wow, what a way better ending than the first ending. Next up: Hard Mode!
Thanks for the heads-up. This is why I always wait a while before installing new system updates. Is the update required to run the game? If so, I think I'll wait before starting this game, just in case the glitch is related to the system update.
Because in theory as you're going about making your rounds collecting the items you missed, if you where so inclined to go back to this aria & repeat the back steeping measures in order to save it just might... But I'm not sure...
In fact I'm actually rather doubtful of it... I don't even believe there is a reason to return there unless you messed one vary obvious item the first time though... (Well before the save aria)

Because to me this sounds/looks like a timed aria glitch that needs certain factors to be in play in order to work...
I'd find it extremely unlikely that you would/could encounter this problem after the point in time that those conditions have moved on... (IE: saving at another point, or defeating another aria's boss)
Ninja Studio pulled a Twilight Princess on us all. Too bad it is not on the Xbox 360 or a patch would have been released to fix this. I guess by the time I get a USB HDD a V1.1 of this game will be out on the internet that fixes this Twilight Princess like bug. If you played Twilight Princess you should know that there is a similar glitch in the Wii version. Yet another reson why the Wii fails to the 360 and PS3, AT LEAST SONY AND MICRO$OFT PATCH THEIR DAMN GAMES!!
not true not all the games there are a lot of flaws also in those games from other console and a lot of bugs remain i hardly saw a patch for any games.
no, a wii update couldnt to this, wii updates only update the system menu(which doesnt affect the games at all) and the ios(internal operating system) which the games run on, but an ios cant affect a game like this... this is a glitch in the game itself, trust me, i know everything about wii.
Damn i didn't know (metroid other m) had a glitch like that luke.Though recently i just finshed the game though i just got 91%.I pretty much gave up on trying to get those last few missle and other parts etc.Still that's nintendo for ya at most there firmware updates are to fight piracy if it screws up your game or how the console runs,oh well there not take the responsibility for it.

See, I have played bits and pieces of games like Legend of Zelda and Metroid, I never got far, because they aren't my thing, I tried to like them, but I couldn't. However, I am not a jerk. I do think they are great games. So I wanted to see how they messed this up. The game looks great for those who like this series. Too bad for that glitch.
My only question is why the hell would you run back to save? The game is hard, yes. But it gives you checkpoints. If there weren't any, I'd say fine, go ahead, save your game so you don't have to fight the boss again. But there is, so if you fight the boss and die, you start off at the beginning of the room you were in or whatever.
So there, proceed normally and don't bother going back to save because you don't have to. Glitch avoided.
I agree with this guy: there are so many check points it's not funny. Practically wherever you are in the game, if you die, you just start over right where you were. But on the other hand, if you need to save, you need to save.
@bickb22 Agreed. So many checkpoints it is ridiculous. I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure there was a save point that came up not long after you fought this boss anyway. So again you could just press onward to the save point.

Yes if you go back and save after fighting Boss 4, you have 505% chance of it happening to you. If you just go down the elevator after the fight, you should be fine.
I find it pretty stupid for a game to trigger a massive glitch from something obvious. Like SAVING THE GAME! Everyone would have done that. What was Team Ninja thinking?
@shpladau It most likely wasnt Team Ninja's screw up. Was probably Nintendo's changing of the IOS files during an update. If you dont know how the Wii works, it runs alot of games off seperate IOS's to try to detour piracy. But pirates and soft modders always find a way around them anyway. So more often then not they screw over and annoy ppl that dont pirate, in a failed attempt to stop piracy.

there was a simslar glitch in metroid prime 2

I´ve played the game two times (Normal and Hard) and this haven´t happen to me, But I really don´t remember if I saved the game after defeated this boss.

Looks like for the mean time, u ppl who had this glitch should download a save file from internet where the boss is beaten and the door unlocked to continue your game.
I, uploaded a copy where I have all you can get before this door (Tanks, and so) so that ppl can continue right away trough the door. the lin

Initially, I never had an issue with this door problem. I beat the game on normal for my first run and on hard for my second. Now when I played the game on normal for the third time, the issue arose. However, after beating the boss mentioned in the video, I never saved; I went straight to the lava room and the damn thing wouldn't open. I will give it a wing tomorrow and see if all is well.

Checks the boss is beaten 3 times, if it is, unlock that door.

this glitch never happened to me on PAL version, even when I saved again after the fight with that mini-boss. So I guess owners of the PAL version don't have to worry about this?

What the dong--How's that a "50% chance" if you have complete control over whether you go back to the previous save room and save? I've never went back and saved at the previous room. Maybe I would if I had to go and I just finished beating the boss or something, but yeah. It seems like you can avoid this glitch 100% of the time if you know about how to trigger it.

WOW, that's so stupid... Nintendo needs to acknowledge their failure.. I love this game so far, but I would literally stop playing if I had encountered this glitch.
I actually encountered a similar glitch ALSO involving that boss (but I think it was on the second fight, when you get the Grapple Beam)

@kNIGHTWING01 Oddly enough, I played this game and beat it without encountering this glitch (while saving after killing Rhedogian) and then lent it to my friend. He told me that he was stuck because he encountered this glitch. I had to give him my SD card with my data which was saved right before the boss that enables Super Missiles. Luckily for him, I love fighting him in every Metroid game he appears in, so I save right before his fight so I can relive the epicness.

Thanks for the heads-up. This is why I always wait a while before installing new system updates. Is the update required to run the game? If so, I think I'll wait before starting this game, just in case the glitch is related to the system update.

Because in theory as you're going about making your rounds collecting the items you missed, if you where so inclined to go back to this aria & repeat the back steeping measures in order to save it just might... But I'm not sure...
In fact I'm actually rather doubtful of it... I don't even believe there is a reason to return there unless you messed one vary obvious item the first time though... (Well before the save aria)

Did you confirm our suspicions, or are you just thinking about this as a worse case scenario sounds the most likely sort of thing?... o_0,
Because to me this sounds/looks like a timed aria glitch that needs certain factors to be in play in order to work...
I'd find it extremely unlikely that you would/could encounter this problem after the point in time that those conditions have moved on... (IE: saving at another point, or defeating another aria's boss)

Ninja Studio pulled a Twilight Princess on us all. Too bad it is not on the Xbox 360 or a patch would have been released to fix this. I guess by the time I get a USB HDD a V1.1 of this game will be out on the internet that fixes this Twilight Princess like bug. If you played Twilight Princess you should know that there is a similar glitch in the Wii version. Yet another reson why the Wii fails to the 360 and PS3, AT LEAST SONY AND MICRO$OFT PATCH THEIR DAMN GAMES!!

no, a wii update couldnt to this, wii updates only update the system menu(which doesnt affect the games at all) and the ios(internal operating system) which the games run on, but an ios cant affect a game like this... this is a glitch in the game itself, trust me, i know everything about wii.

Damn i didn't know (metroid other m) had a glitch like that luke.Though recently i just finshed the game though i just got 91%.I pretty much gave up on trying to get those last few missle and other parts etc.Still that's nintendo for ya at most there firmware updates are to fight piracy if it screws up your game or how the console runs,oh well there not take the responsibility for it.

@SipuraEin Because, and this may sound weird, but I didn't think that there would be a game breaking glitch in a great series like Metroid. See, I have played bits and pieces of games like Legend of Zelda and Metroid, I never got far, because they aren't my thing, I tried to like them, but I couldn't. However, I am not a jerk. I do think they are great games. So I wanted to see how they messed this up. The game looks great for those who like this series. Too bad for that glitch.

My only question is why the hell would you run back to save? The game is hard, yes. But it gives you checkpoints. If there weren't any, I'd say fine, go ahead, save your game so you don't have to fight the boss again. But there is, so if you fight the boss and die, you start off at the beginning of the room you were in or whatever.
So there, proceed normally and don't bother going back to save because you don't have to. Glitch avoided.

I agree with this guy: there are so many check points it's not funny. Practically wherever you are in the game, if you die, you just start over right where you were. But on the other hand, if you need to save, you need to save.

@bickb22 Agreed. So many checkpoints it is ridiculous. I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure there was a save point that came up not long after you fought this boss anyway. So again you could just press onward to the save point.

Yes if you go back and save after fighting Boss 4, you have 505% chance of it happening to you. If you just go down the elevator after the fight, you should be fine.

@shpladau It most likely wasnt Team Ninja's screw up. Was probably Nintendo's changing of the IOS files during an update. If you dont know how the Wii works, it runs alot of games off seperate IOS's to try to detour piracy. But pirates and soft modders always find a way around them anyway. So more often then not they screw over and annoy ppl that dont pirate, in a failed attempt to stop piracy.
