this freekick was very borderline and quite unregular: the ref doesn't have to whistle the ref, but he must indicate if a freekick can be played quickly at the sight of both teams!! here, it's just a private chat between the ref and MU players. thierry henry also scored 2 or 3 freekicks like this and i always found it quite unfair. as did giggs

the lille players were legitimatly quite angry with the ref. for information, this same ref have been accused of corruption in the dutch league
