I heard another version of this song on Pandora. Does anyone know where I can find that version? It had a heavier, busier bassline...I've been trying to look for it.
@laidbackguy777 same here.. this song represents my struggles ( which ive had alot of), trials, calm to me. this would be the theme song for my autobio movie.
wasim and farooq were the heroes of this movie. they left a lasting impression on me though bob barnes and bennet holiday are memorable characters too.
@timmer7000 Umm..ignorance is prevalent in the entire world. Sorry I was just pointing out what goes on in America, but seriously the rest of the world is just as f'd up, violent, prejudice and ignorant too.
As long as the average American does not understand the message that is captured by this movie they will remain hated by most Middle Eastern people.
As long as tirans in the middle east are supported by western entities the West will remain hated.
The United States of America just made its largest weapons deal in history with one of the most fascist dictorial regime in the Middle East: Saudi Arabia
It has sold high advanced weapons to this kingdoms mafia like family.
@vriend1 I'll agree that a lot of the problem is the prevailing belief that Western governments support monarchies and hierachy in the Middle East to the detriment of the people. But this is no way justifies terrorism. Period. The way the people in countries like Tunisia, Egypt, Syria etc. are handling the situation is the best way to handle it. As long as western governments stay out of other countries foreign affairs and stop trying to influence the balance of power things will work out.
@vriend1 likewise if Muslims don't capture the message they will be hated by most Americans, you obviously did not get the message by making that statement. The message of the movie is multilayered, that the whole problem is very grey and not black and white.
@pdc26839 Unfortunately a lot of Americans hate Muslims because of a false belief that all Muslims are terrorists or somehow associated with it. This is not true. A terrorist can be of any race, religion, creed etc. There is a fundamental misunderstanding in the public about this. Also the anti-arab and anti-semitic sentiment that permeates through American culture needs to cease. Stereotying is bad and has never gotten anyone anywhere.
ur stereotyping a little bit urself now by saying "a lot of americans". it would've been better if you added "but the overwhelming amount of americans are NOT anti-islam". there are a lot of anti-islam people in holland too, especially with the rise of the pvv political party(generally being called the anti-islam party), but nevertheless most dutch people are thankfully not anti-islam and don't hate muslims.
man it's so sad those two pakistani guys blew themselves up. and then when that wasim dude's suicide video is being shown, really sad. those two kids were for me the real stars of this movie not george clooney or matt damon.
@dsdan83 What a lot of terrorists organizations do is prey on the poorest and weakest people to recruit. Usually young impressionable people who feel as if they are hopeless and have no way out. Same thing that the Nazis and skinheads have done. Or that gangs do. Same mentality same philosophy.
Good music. Really good. I like to listen to it early in the morning when the sun rises over the horizon. In the silence and with silence, which only occasionally cut through the car horn. In the luminous morning mist. Smoking a cigarette.… At this moment it seems that life is so calm, measured. And there is no constant rush, stress, anxieties, which will begin in a couple of hours. This helps to adjust youself, to concentrate against the chaos that awaits you ahead.. in the day light.
It is almost incredible how the abstract power of music can generate such feeling of awe when vibrating within the very core of human emotion. it is indeed an unforgettable piece dedicated to memories, reflections, nostalgia and melancholy.
Read the book it was based off of, "See No Evil." It was written by Robert Baer, former field officer for the CIA. Clooney's character is supposed to be Baer. Personally, I thought the story was more anti-corruption than biased politically.
Yes, it is biased. And, like every other movie I've ever seen that "comments" on social or political issues, if you set the bias aside and enter into the story, it becomes just what it is. A story.
The film is quite good, it's not great, but is not bad by any stretch... It's pretty bias, that is the only negative i would attach to it. Its true though vary demanding film, it's subtle you must pay attention or you'll miss it's point its message and the story too...
It is biased in it's prospective of capitalism, and corporate corruption. It portrays grandiose capitalistic conspiracy based themes that are far more fictional and interesting, then truth-full or thought provoking. It is for one, a movie, and not a fact based mission statement. So i wouldn't take to much stock in it and it is biased in this political perspective, Because it is definitely a liberal theme. And it is more of a comment on american politics then Middle eastern.
Sweet, sad, bitter, happy. Memories are like that. Human lives are like that. Complicated yet simple. lifes not meaningless, it's just to short. That's why you have to live. so that even the shortest of lives can create an impact worth a long one. It doesn't matter how long or how short. It just matters that you lived it up when you could. The meaning of life is Life. How do you want people to remember you?
I did upload the "Fields of Oil" but for some reason YouTube doesn't let me add the link here. I guess you have to click on my account. I only have 6 videos.
Looking for the name and artist of the song played near the beginning of the movie Syriana where Bob is meeting Russ to sell him some rockets at a party in Terhan and there ia a apparent American rap tune playing in the background Thanks,WTFwhereisit
Thanks for the information the tune sounded better in the movie Syriana, most favorite movie ever tells all about big oil and what greed is doing to the rest of the world, crashing all world economies needlessly for billionaire greed as the military follows business around the worldm disgusting!
Does anyone who has seen the movie Syriana know the identity of the song being played in the background at the beginning of the movie where Bob is at a party in Terhan and is meeting Russ to talk about selling him some rockets and Russ says after prayers, it's a rap like tune with some mention of the FBI in it as girls are dressing up in their burkas to leave the party Thanks WTFwhereisit
I think these are three different tracks of the soundtrack mixed together. The common theme that they share is truly amazing though, and kudos to the guy who mixed them did an amazing job timing the transitions just right.
If you would really like to witness anti-islam and anti-arab and anti-jewish feelings, hatred etc..you are advised to visit the Netherlands...
