years ago when we first started fishing up there we mishandled fish too..big difference holding an 8 in brown trout with one hand as opposed to a 10 pounder or a giant stellhead..its a struggle to do all that and take pics..ive learned just like you..over time..we now just net everything..can keep the fish in the water and take our time to get ready for a photo or 2..i enjoy the fun u guys have in ur videos..anyone want some used bogas for sale? lol
We have a small lake around where I live, private, holds up to 14lb rainbows and since it's impossible for them to spawn they arent considered steelhead, they put up such a good fight and taste awesome. Keep up the fishin'!
Yeah....I am from PA and I had to learn the hard way during my first trip to the Ontario Tribs...I broke out the ultralite fenwick and 4lb test...I heard a couple laughs but proceeded anyway....Proceeded to have my line twisted into unusable fray and lost the trout of my dreams after a 15 minute stalemate....Never again will i be caught unprepared...Nice day gentlemen.
I'm working on a new NY fishing video, from a recent trip and will post it sometime soon. Some will be happy to know that caution was used on the fish handling and releasing. No griping device was used, live & learn.
wow man pretty weak ?? those are some nice fish retard you obviously dont now how to handle fish .. and if you read his other comments he stopped using the grips so read before you talk shit
not quite bud, those fish are pretty small for ontario tribs... if you are going to post trash like this and be a dumbass like yourself, then I'm going to talk shit
Who are you to talk trash about anyone and what makes you think your some kind of authority. WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR YOURSELF! SHOW US HOW ITS DONE! Of course you wont because your sort is ALL TALK & no action. Im just trying to have some clean fun. If your idea of fun and sole reason on YouTube is to just rip on people than perhaps your the dumb ass. Im done wasting anymore time on you. Your blocked, go get your jollies harassing someone else.
No reason to use the boga grips if you are going to release those fish- the bigger the fish the more damage the boga grip does homeboy - just a thought
Agreed, please see my last comment below home girl. Id like to see the folks who harshly commented below not hide behind their key boards and instead make these same sort of remarks on the river. It would help educate other anglers (like me) and maybe prevent anglers from doing worse acts. I see guys with stringers of 10 plus lb trophy trout heading for the fillet table. Also tell them to pick up there damn trash and beer bottles, make a real difference and dont just bitch on your keyboards.
right on man! in everyones tackle bag there should bea trash bag too, not just for your own but any you see! The only ones to blame for private land are the public...
ive caught about 30 bass this year... on about say 10 fishing trips .. all from shore..gonna add some more to the summer record tonight .. tight lines man
Glad to hear that you won't be using a Boga Grip again. As used in this video, it can do some serious damage to fish's jaws. Also, make sure to fully revive fish with them facing into the current. They will swim away quickly, without struggling near the surface.
Awesome footage! Makes me nostalgic for steelhead fishing.
Do you guys realize that you hold the trout the wrong way in the current when you try to revive them? Their heads should face upstream, into the current.
To those watching this video though I am seen using a griping device in this video, I no loner encourage the use of them on trout or salmon. After some feedback and research Im pretty much done with them, live & learn I guess. If you plan on releasing your catch best not to use one or hold the fish upside down. To those that were polite and respectful in expressing their opinions to me thank you! To the rest grow up and learn how to express yourselves without having to be jerks about it.
Looks like a great time. That big buck brown is absolutly killer! Nice work on the video and the fish. I wish I was closer to NY to get in on some of that action.... someday.

Looking back agreed. Don't use them anymore on trout. Check out this years 2009 NY trout trip video, I've uploaded recently.....no grips.
