Obama was the top recipient of donations from BP in 2008, and it looks like he gave them a pass again. He let BP’s gulf drilling be exempt from an environmental study last year. It would of shown BP's neglectful safety record and non compliance to safety violations as to their rigs .

So in my opinion Obama by giving his Oil buddies a pass last year contributed to this problem by them not having to fix their violations when it came to safety on their rigs. & people say Bush was an ass.
