  • I don't like Serena's Tennis, she's just STRONG but I miss the talent of Justin Henin ! :(

  • Serena is amazing!

  • owned

  • @DunklenHerzen Serena is 7-2 against Clijsters..now who has who's number? I wuld've to think Justine plays Serena better than Clijsters. But Serena's a combined 15-8 against both!!

  • With the way the girls are playing (i.e. Kim, Serena, Sam, Petra, etc.) I think the WTA has gotten back on track. Makes 2012 look very promising. Also did anyone see that amazing shot at 1:20

  • i hope she doesn't arguing with the umpires and play good

  • I love Serena but she is playing sloppy here. I hope she doesnt go into the AO playing like this.

  • @db200508 Yes she is...I really hope that she steps up her game a notch, because she seems to be playing the same way she did when she lost to Stosur last year. But I have faith in her though :p when she has her eyes on something no one can stop her.

  • @chrisschrissie

To be fair, Serena did beat Stosur a couple of weeks prior to the US Open in 2011. It all depends on her serve and if she doesn't get broken. Plus, I think it's good that the Aussie open is a week after this tournament and so it'll give Serena a week to get into more better physical shape. I feel she isn't in shape yet and is moving a little slow so hopefully that extra week will help her.

  • @DunklenHerzen AGREED 100%!!

  • @db200508

I saw her first set and she was in control and agressive. The only sloppy points came in the second set where she had a dip. She needs to stop dipping and lowering quality of play in the second set because it gave her opponent the opportunity to raise her own game. The only way she can get better is to get more into better physical shape and play a little more to get the rust off.

  • Finally She Back , This year australian open is hers

  • @AznKinKnowsBest7 We can't forget about Kim Clijsters. As much as I hate to admit it, Medusa has definitely had the Williams number as of late.

  • @eezenwa Did u see the way Kim Played at the australian open ? it wasnt even as good as Serena , Sure Kim did win because Li Na was to nervous and scared so Kim took advantage

  • @AznKinKnowsBest7

Yea Li Na should have won that match but she was just not experienced enough in grand slam finals. Good thing she did win the French Open though.

As for Clijsters, the trick is to not dip in play and lose confidence against her. Clijsters is a really good player but she does have dips in her play and her forehand can go wild and create errors. Her opponents need to learn and take advantage of that to beat Clijsters.

  • @DunklenHerzen Im my Opinion , Kim isnt tough when shes against top hitting players like Li Na , Williams , Maria , if u see all there matches Kim always comes close to losing or loses , her ground strokes are good but cant be compared to there players

  • @AznKinKnowsBest7

True. I think the only thing she has going for her is her defense.

  • @DunklenHerzen Will i think shes great with mixing it up but when it comes to offensive players likes the ones i mentioned she has a 50 percent of winning , She has a great forehand

  • @AznKinKnowsBest7 I beg to disagree that Kim Clijsters can't be compared to Li Na, Williams, Maria. Kim actually had beaten all those names you mentioned since her 2009 comeback.

Since Kim's 2009 comeback: she's 3-0 against Venus (actually she haven't lost to Venus since 2005); 1-0 against Serena; 1-0 against Maria; 2-1 against Li Na.

Kim Clijsters has been the best female hard-court player since she returned to the tour in the summer of 2009.

  • @AznKinKnowsBest7 Actually Kim Cijsters is the only player on tour who had beaten all those players you mentioned since her 2009 comeback ^^

  • @eezenwa

Winning over their opponents is like a rubberband. A rubberband expands and contracts and just like a win over an opponent, you win some and then you lose some. Clijsters has had Serena's number for quite a while and so it's only a matter of time Serena is going to get her's back. Hopefully.

  • Serena has been doing the cmon thing since early in her career, it was just unfortunate that they tried to take the point away from her in the USO and she blew up. But I don't mind, I still love her. Great to see her back. I find it funny because I'd take Serena's cmons anytime than other players shrieking during points.

  • This year, i hope Serena, Venus, Maria, Kim show the youngsters how it should be done to be on the top if the leader-board! I need old good days back!

  • LETS GO SERENA!!!!!

  • serena cud be a better in her movement she has always had the tendency to be very lazy with her footwork but its only her first match of the season look for her movement to improve and to the other players: WATCH OUT SERENA'S COMIN!!!

  • @wozniacki15 You are right! Serena CAN be lazy with her movement, but I think she will move better when it counts most!

  • @sezro @Oopstoobad6275 Serena's been c'moning throughout her matches, thruout her career, all over sudden you want her to stop? That's how she pumps herself up during big moments - you cant teach an old dog new tricks!! If she starts getting penalized, officials must also penalize Vika or Sharapova's c'mons or Kvitova's bark or generally the issue of grunting long before a point is over.

  • @trent6149 totally agree with you everyone just needs to back off and let serena do her thing

  • Es lo malo del tenis femenino, que ante una ventaja física como la de la negra Serena, ella puede ganar a veces hasta sin despeinarse.

  • Serena's squeel is #epic! :)) 2:09

  • Thought it was 6 7 in the first set i was so happy lol :(

  • That's the same umpire from USO. Did Serena shake her hand?

  • @Leomerya12 Teah she did.

  • @Leomerya12 Its not the same umpire that is Caroline Kramer

  • Yes. I hope Serena is more careful when she says "Come On" looks like she said it too early again here. I'm sure they won't let it slide in the majors.

  • @Sezro Yay She will certainly smash the umpire with her racket then. haha

  • @Sezro ya i was just about to say the same thing...she should wait until it's def. over lol

  • @Sezro well its only a problem if the opponent happens to put a racquet on the ball....but i agree, i don't want her to have to be in the same situation.

  • @Sezro I agree wit you, she gt lucky lol..she didnt use to be like dat, i dont know if shes anxious or what lol

  • WOOOH SERENA!!!!
