  • @revshadows7 That's true. I have a friend that weighs around 260 and can menage that amount of reps and prob 1 or 2 more and he ain't strong at all.

    But-it is about the condition more then strength. The weight will keep light for you but the muscle just gets full fast if you are not used to high reps.

  • Isn't a flat bench press a pretty useless workout for football? I mean all benching does really is make your chest look good, you never really use it in a game. Incline and decline would be better for ball. Legs is far more of a priority in my mind. feel free to give any tips if you have any, this is just my thoughts...

  • @Xupdid Weight has alot to do with it. When you weigh as much as he does 185 should be nothing, being it's almost half his bodyweight where as a 200 pounder benches 185 multiple times it looks better because it is almost his body weight. It's strength relative to size.

    I can't think of a single situation in life where if you have to lift something, that object just becomes heavier because you weigh more than the next guy. (Excluding bodyweight exercises)
