Here we go again. Another weekend of bad music, garbage dumped everywhere by a bunch of bloated, fat, Bramptonites. Thankfully the big concert is tonight and its pouring!
Pity the shop owners. All the 'tourists' park in the GO Lot and by-pass the shops so all the store owners get screwed. Not that anyone can bring anything they buy onto the grounds anyway.
What say we park a flatbed in front of Hazel's house and blare recordings of this crap in her neighbourhood? That'd be justice!
That is massively annoying....bad music and lots of drinking and traffic jams and garbage. I hope you were able to get some justice on that one. Bad news.
i love the idiots who suggest i move if i don't like the noise & bother that 3 festivals in Port Credit make.
how stupid are U that instead of campaigning to stop the festivals you'd uproot your entire existence to go live somewhere else?
To those who think its great that sleepy little Port Credit is turned into hell for 3 weekends a year I say this: "there are plenty of places the city could do this. City Center is one, Port Credit isn't."
a bit better this year but still a crappy overpriced festival. streets were littered with the living dead @ end of it & the grass on the park still hasn't recovered. most visitors complained about parking & price, merchants complained hiring & training extra staff for whining tourists. regular citizens putting up with this nonsense are ignored by witch hazel & her minions as our beautiful village is turned into yorkdale west-ugh!
yup, another summer, another series of crappy music and traffic jams. too bad they didn't set this up in streetsville, serve the witch Hazel right if she had to put up with this bs. stupid old witch!
they've already got to the budget bands and morons playing by the TEN. they're gonna drive someone to violence one day, you watch!
wasn't noisy when i moved here, no reason for it to be now. you should have the right to peace and quiet in your own home so no, i'm not going anywhere but you can bet these concerts will be. like any politicians city hall won't risk losing an election over this issue and a lot of people are voicing their hatred of the noise.
thanks for your comment, i won't approve it but its always nice to hear from the crackpots
yeah i agree with you i live about 80 meters away from you and the traffic jams are the worst during these festivals it shuts down all of lakeshore in and around port credit and the residents are stranded because of it.
I don't know what's worse. It being so fricking cold you can't open your windows without risking hypothermia, or the fact that we're probably going to have another summer where you can't open your windows because every damn weekend has another stupid concert. Someone has to do something about that witch Hazel!
3 days a year? R U out of your mind. Yeah, this festival was 3 days, then there was the other 6 festivals, and the weekend free concerts ALL SUMMER LONG. & repeated assurances by the city that these won't be disruptive! dude, this is a quiet neighbour 30 weeks of the year, but they're the coldest freakin weeks too. U should be able to open UR window 1 weekend when the weather's good without listening to crappy concert music, crappy country music, or crap so loud you can hear it from Cawthra!
I've lived in Port credit for 25 years, It used it be a nice quite working class town. Now it a constant pain in the ass, every weekend in the summer there is somthing usless going on and the residents are tired. You can't or drive in your own town anymore. Getting home once you hit mississauga road and lakeshore is a PAIN! How many martini lounges do you need in 1 town? Jam is right at the very end of my street and the noise sucks!. This town is going to hell!!!
It was a pretty crappy event. Parking was a nightmare, concessions were overpriced, crowded, the sound was overmodulated. FRAM construction ads everywhere. Can believe I had to pay for this commercial. I'd never bother with it again.
The Saturday and Sunday night presentations were at a much more reasonable sound level. If Friday's had been like this I'm sure half the neighbourhood wouldn't have complained to City Hall.
Still, traffic was a bloody nightmare and the merchants are pissed at how bad a weekend it was for sales. Follow the money and you'll see who these festivals benefit, If not the residents, if not local business, then who?
3 days of congestion, noise and for what? all the retailers in the area are being by-passed by the crowds who can't take any outside food in! the costs is $15, not even a break for the poor residents who have to put up with this crap, and there's 6 more festivals this summer ending with that gawdawful SouthSide Shuffle where they completely screw the neighbourhood by shutting down Lakeshore! Whatever happened to the Village?

being a democracy i can go with option No3, campaign against noise pollution with a skittish city hall.
thanks for your opinion though, it's always great to hear from the crackpots

Thank you for posting this video, simonproxy.
You've raised an excellent question.
Who does the Waterfront Festival benefit.
FOLLOW THE MONEY.
