@onmywaytofun Thank you for watching. My Japanese is actually quite poor. I have struggled for many years to learn though the language remains a challenge for me. Have a great day! ~Kurt :-)

Bad:
there are some people steal the produce from the basket.
Good:
it was big enough to be taken up by a TV news. If this happened in other place, people would think this is a fact of life or even worse, the farmers would be blamed for being stupid.
Satoimo:
A type of root vegetable that's often used in hot pot or ozoni. It has sticky residue. It tastes good.
In England they do this all the time. With other things too like flowers, plants or eggs, there are bags of manure that people sell if they have horses, I have seen hay too. I doubt people from most places would think that the people were stupid or that it was a fact of life as it is quite normal in many places I think.
hey my teacher asked me what people in japan do for Christmas, can you make a video about that please? I'm sorry for asking you to make more videos but I'm also curious
Hello Strideo1, Isn't that a great old house? The one next door (closer to the mountain) is older and larger still with a HUGE plot of farmland attached! The kitchen garden is amazing and it's all managed by a little old lady of 90 years. She is amazing! -Kurt :-)
I know that sometimes in the city a gardener will lay out produce in a small stall and people can come by and by whatever is offered. No one ever thinks about the money being stolen as the Japanese do not think that way. Theft is virtually unknown.
May I ask what a persimmon tastes like? Is it like a peach or apple or apricot?
Hello reymiland, That's a good question though I am not sure how to describe the taste of persimmon which is not like any other fruit I know. I posed your question to my wife who described the taste as "nothing". Meaning that she thinks kaki have very little flavor which I agree is true. I'm sorry that I cannot offer a better description. -Kurt :-)
Hello habiebiee, It sure is! Have you noticed that some of the stands are breaking the 100 yen mark. I've seen several 150 yen a couple of 200 yen and even an 80 yen (??) stand recently. -Kurt :-)

It's cool to see the same thing (veges for sale) half way around the world. It's heartening to see that people are way more similar than dis-similar.

Not even a 100 yen in your pocket? You need to cut down on your spending sprees on your walking journeys.

Hello anwahi, I was surprised to find I did not even have a single yen in my pockets! I guess I should carry more change. -Kurt :-)
