  • And now you have cholera.

  • "I have cholera!"

  • of course Ted Nugent would like to get rid of the government, that way thered be no age of consent laws keeping him from fueling his addiction to underage vagina

  • Except there's too many non-white people in Somalia for Libertarians to like it there.

  • Hahahahahaha! Awesome video.

  • I know lots of patriotic Americans that would be more than happy to help Ron Paul and his Paulbots pack so they can get to their "promised land" Don't let the regulations hit you in the ass as you leave this country forever.

  • Libertarians are retarded.

  • This is a vision of anarchy, not libertarian-ism.

  • @TheBlueSteelBunny actually this is EXACTLY what libertarianism is about. corporate tyranny in the wake of government inaction. anarchism is actually highly organized social order that would take corporatism out of the picture and wouldn't dissolve government without insuring social safety nets are in place for the well being of all.

  • @TheBlueSteelBunny Explain the difference

  • @injuredeternity

I was trying to be sarcastic. I guess I'll have to work on my sarcasm skills.

I thought saying that communist Somalia was prosperous and peaceful would be a bit of a tip off that I was joking.

  • Garbage... it wasn't even funny garbage... what a waste of 58 seconds.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the rest of Africa have states and also suck?

  • Anarchy and Glenn Beck? Where is the libertarian stuff?

  • Comment removed

  • Got any vids on how the Earth is really flat..? That would be more accurate than this silly straw-man nonsense. Where's the rule of objective law, private property rights protection, free trade and freedom of religion etc etc...?

  • @Riellysdad In Somalia private property is protected by the private citizen not some socialist funded group of police storm troopers. Somalians are free to trade any thing with any one, including (but not limited to) slaves, heroin, and human organs. All without stupid government taxation.

  • @xray235 That's anarchy. Not libertarian.

  • @Gormanmod not anarchism. don't libertarians know how to read?

  • @getxrowdy no government = anarchy.

  • @Gormanmod no, if you're referring to "anarchism" which is a societal model with no formal hierarchical government, than no, you're completely wrong. Anarchy =/= Anarchism.

  • @getxrowdy false. Only in America is this so, because you changed the meaning of the word. But this is a false pretense, and socially constructed to raise up emotion and anger.

Anarchy is the present state of anarchistic rule, ie, untra individualism.

"Proponents of anarchism, known as "anarchists", advocate stateless societies based on non-hierarchical voluntary associations."

  • @Gormanmod actually no, in america the term "libertarian" has been changed. in most other countries libertarian is analogous with anarchism. anarchism is a universal political philosophy, where american libertarianism is unique in its meaning to american politics.

what is socially constructed to raise anger? anarchism? no anarchism is NOT individualism, it is voluntary association, a socialistic society. i'm glad you know how to use wikipedia, but your reading comprehension needs some work.

  • @Gormanmod let me try to explain it this way; american libertarianism is a right wing version of what most other countries call libertarianism (anarchism). it is a philosophy that believes in neo-liberal capitalism, no government, and property rights, which leave potential for hierarchy and corporate tyranny. anarchism is similar but non capitalistic, non-aggressive free trade (unlike neo-liberal) and socialistic with no hierarchical structure.

  • @getxrowdy No. It's actually this.

Libertarians treat the government as a shell. A wall for business.

Anarchists want the people to be that wall.

There is nothing more to it.

  • @xray235 ...And they have no secure property rights,no legal system or objective law and no respect for individual human rights...so it fails libertarian basics 101...

  • this is stupid

  • this is a really insightful video because Somalia was prosperous and peaceful when it had a communist government, and the core principle of libertarian ideology is the complete absence of any form of government and a lack of concern for property rights and the rule of law

  • @haydenslaymaker Somalia was not peaceful or prosperous by any stretch of the imagination. If anything, it was an international welfare case that absorbed foreign aid for the benefit of Siad Barre, and other government/military forces. In reality, when Somalia became a stateless society it experienced unprecedented growth, and even a stabilization of it's monetary unit, the shilling. I'll make another post for some sources you should check out.

  • @haydenslaymaker Here are some sources, but check out my other post. Unfortunately, it won't let me actually post the sources, but I can give you the names. Peter Leeson: "Better Off Stateless", and another paper is "Somalia after State Collapse: Chaos or improvement?" by the Independent institute.

Also, this video is a presentation of the Leeson paper: /watch?v=qtGkTRnocZI

  • LISTEN UP MEDIA & USA

Ron was practicing Medicine at that time, his associates were responsible for finding Bloggers interested in writing Articles for his Newsletters (because Ron could not write, edit or publish his Newsletters while he was Busy FULL TIME attending to his Medical Practice and also doing Gynecological Surgeries etc). So Ron Paul's supporter Lew Rockwell & others recommended many bloggers including Tucker, McCiver and Thornton to write Articles. Ron had NO Control/Oversight

  • @halcyon0830 So Ron Paul, who was running an organization and profiting greatly by selling subscriptions to his literature, hires a few bloggers that he had no knowledge of to write racist and offensive newsletters, written in the "first person", and published under his name? It's going out in his name, as if it was personally written by him, and yet he doesn't know what they even said? And this is a good choice for president?

  • Jeff Tucker, Jean McCiver & Marc Thornton WROTE those Newsletters. NOT RON PAUL.

What's absurd is claiming the guy who would pardon all non violent drug offenders (AKA 30% of the black population) out of prison is a secret racist.

Ron would get rid of War and Prohibition, which is THE largest source of racism and discrimination in America currently.

Dr Ron Paul was out of office practicing medicine and let writers use his name for a fee.

    spectator. org/archives/2011/12/21/ghostwriters-gone-wild

  • @halcyon0830 No, this still isn't making any sense. You're saying that Ron Paul "let writers use his name for a fee" to write articles published in Ron Paul's own newsletter, which was making money thru subscriptions, for RON PAUL?

  • When Ron left Congress to Focus on his Medical Practice, he didn't have time to publish, edit or write his Newsletters, so he gave control of his Newsletters to Bloggers Jeff Tucker, Jean McCiver & Marc Thornton for a Fee (these bloggers were NOT known to Ron but his supporter/friend Lew Rockwell knew & recommended them). They were the ones who wrote those articles

  • Yes. Do not let your vacation be ruined by the fact that the money collected for public beaches is stolen by threats of violence by the government against anyone who refuses to pay for things you want. Peaceful people who refuse to pay or cannot afford to pay get chained, kidnapped, caged and have their property stolen. This is the threat of violence we are all under. Luckily for the government most people just pay to either avoid being assaulted or believe in mythical social contracts.

  • Threats of violence, violence, extortion, theft, robbery etc. to steal people's hard earned money is immoral. Don't pay taxes and see the violence for yourself. And Somalians did not choose and embrace a free society, their government collapsed.

  • Rules for debate on YouTube: Pick an ism you like. Find a video critical about it Tell everyone that that's NOT AT ALL what your favorite ism is really about, and that they are all STUPID. Now find an ism you don't like. Find a video which promotes it. Tell everyone that they are all STUPID because they don't understand that their favorite ism only leads to evil. Repeat. Don't forget to spell bad, use poor gramer use personal insults CAPITAL LETTERS and lots of PUNCTIATION?!?!

  • Too funny

  • Umm, this is not Libertarianism. This is anarchy! Libertarians believe in the Constitution and the rule of law. They believe that the role of government is to oversee the economy, protect us from others (not ourselves), and that's really it.

  • lol, They wouldn't have collera if they had a strong central government that took care of them. WAA......Think about it,.......the people of Somalia would rather: risk collera then live in a society thats free. You are right, in a way, If the Samalian people had kept their heads down and not bit the imperial and despotic hand that fed them, collera would be the least of their worries.

  • @rickbob682 society that is NOT free edit sorry

  • Libertarians believe in the rule of law. Read Bastiat's The Law, to discover libertarian thinking. It is a short book, available for free on line, and is very well written. After you read it, you can disagree with it, but you will be very well informed about libertarian ideals. This video is a straw man argument. That is when you make a man out of straw, call it by your opponent's name the knock it down and declare victory. Integrity occurs when you describe your opponent in terms he would agree.

  • @halcyon0830

Like a stopped clock and other krackpot Libertarians, you're right twice a day. And wrong the rest of the time.

Just because Obama is a corrupt evil bastard doesn't mean that racist, homophobic, antisocial, rich-people-loving, poor-people-hating Ron Paul is the answer to anything. That's a little like having a house that's infested with rats and termites and about to be foreclosed on, thus deciding to dust it with plutonium.

  • When those Writers (Jeff Tucker & Marc Thornton) signed the Contract to write for Ron Paul Newsletter, the Contract had an Anonymity Clause.

Ron Paul could NOT oversee what was going on in his Newsletter because he was in Texas (NOT IN WASHINGTON DC) practicing Medicine & Doing Surgeries.

His Staff at that time including Lew Rockwell hired the Bloggers along with other Bloggers to write for the Newsletter, and if Ron Paul Staff disclosed the names to the public, they would be breaking Contract.

  • Ron Paul is a "racist" because he supports civil liberties, individual rights and refuses to kill brown people in the Middle East.

  • @halcyon0830 Stop spewing your bullshit around. It's getting all over everything.

  • This is what a libertarian paradise looks like: no weekends, no vacation paid, 18 hours of work every day, child labour. If you get sick, you better kill yourself. You shouldn't bother living anyway. Look at how corporations behave in third world countries. We had it all here in Europe during the 19th century.

  • @Neidhardt84 Sounds more like gilded age bullshit. Not libertarianism.

  • @Neidhardt84 that comment is so stupid, it actually hurts.

  • @Neidhardt84 This is nothing like real libertarianism. Somalia is hardly libertarian at all.

  • @Neidhardt84 Besides, Somalia has a thriving free market. But they are still not libertarian; they have a transitional government with soon to be sharia law.

  • And it's not like Somalians chose to be without government. A society embracing liberty and free markets is far different from having government support and regulations ripped out from underneath a dependent society that know nothing of anarchy or the nonaggression principal. If people were educated and were allowed to vote for freedom it would win by a landslide.

  • @AndyWright68 Funny how traditional European terms for working class movements are being distorted and applied to completely different goals in the US. Anarchism is anti-authoritarian and anti-statist communism. In France, anarchists were simply called libertarians. I'm from Austria btw, where no one takes the so-called Austrian School of Economics seriously (like in the rest of the world except in America).

  • If you think Somalia is bad now you should have seen it when they had a government.

  • Give Somalia a brake! At least their government (and yes they still do have a government. You can spot them every time an arm gang approaches you and demands something from you) has never bombed the shit of of millions of innocent people.

  • so far its something like 600 something educated ppl vs 2600 not so educated. i get that most have a misconception of what free markets, libertarians, and anarchists actually believe but this is just silly. im anarcho-capitalist and i didnt get there over night. understanding how Anarchy and libertarians are a significantly better system than the 1 we are in is not something thats easy to learn or something that should be compared to a land full of pirates and uneducated savages. how sad this is

  • Oh god no, somebody made a joke that isn't supporting my views. Better get on Wikipedia and throw up random facts to prove I don't want to move to Somalia.

  • Lol what a joke. Is this really what people perceive as libertarianism? Do your research, use your brain.

  • Is Somalia more dangerous than Liberia or DROC?

  • This is so misinformed its ridiculous. Libertarians believe in property rights above all (it being the basis for all other rights). Somalia is more of a socialist state, since property rights aren't respected, and your neighbor can come over and take whatever they "need". In that way, Somalia is the redistributionist utopia, not Libertarian. No need to contact the IRS to do your dirty work for you... just stroll over, lop off a few heads, and then take the "greedy hoarder's" stuff.

  • @Jaspian It's not misinformed... it's joking.

  • @Mylifeofdragons You'd be surprised how many people think Somalia is a refutation of libertarianism. Most of them statist liberals.

  • @Mylifeofdragons Um no, its misinformed. See... it would be a joke perhaps if it had some semblance of accuracy. Its about as much of a joke as me saying "All Socialists are Satan-worshiping child molesters LOL". See... its not really a joke if its just a bald-faced lie. Unfortunately people (as demonstrated by this video) do not actually understand what libertarianism means. The idiots who made this video just wasted all this time and effort setting up straw men to slap. Sad..

  • @Jaspian You're full of shit. You're describing capitalist minarchism not libertarianism. The kind that want's to shrink government down just small enough to protect property with violence and to fit in a womans vagina.

  • @thenoorys Uh no... Libertarians believe in human rights. And the idea that all rights are derived from Property Rights isn't a new idea.. its from Locke. Libertarians are mostly in tune with philosophers of that time, like Locke, Hume, and Bastiat.

  • @Jaspian libertarians (with a little l) get their ideologies from many sources as there are many strains of libertarianism. libertarianism was first mentioned in french enlightenment politics by Mutualist Socialists like Proudhon. The Libertarians you're thinking of are a of particular(newer) American propriatarian brand, Rothbardian and followers of Adam Smith.

Although Adam Smith was critical of capitalism and many refuse to read into those aspects of his writings.

  • @thenoorys Rothbard is an anarchist, not a libertarian. Smith didn't promote anarchism, either.

  • @thenoorys Libertarianism (small l) refers to minimalist government. It always has. Its the socialist/progressives who *stole* the term "Liberal", which actually means almost the complete opposite of what they stand for. Hence when you hear the phrase "Classical Liberal" they are referring to libertarianism, not socialism/progressivism. Libertarian is the belief that government should stay out of people's lives except in the most extreme of circumstances. It has always meant that.

  • @Jaspian When I hear the phrase classical liberal, I think classical liberal, not libertarianism. I would think the latter is closer to a neoclassical liberal, or a neoliberal, than a classical liberal.

  • @Jaspian: If privitization is such a wonderful thing, Somalia really is a libertarian paradise. Balance between liberty and government is liberalism. We know a society needs a social safety net for the people, it needs environmental regulations, health and safety regulations, and so on. Libertarians reject this logic and don't really care about what society looks like at all. Thats why this video is accurate.

  • @athabascka maybe true liberals but no neo obama-clinton liberals

and you seem to think Libertarians are against laws, they are not.

Somalia is a poor example. The government has a duty to protect life and liberty , and it can raise taxes to fund that, just no income taxes, but other forms of tax are acceptable .

no problem with saftey net but should be at state level, dont want 20 million californians telling my small state how to live

    poor video

  • @athabascka Oh you make it sound so benign... "balance". What a meaningless word! See, EVERY form of government except anarchy is a "balance" between liberty and government. The trick is knowing where to draw the line, and unfortunately for you, the facts distinctly point to liberty being superior to government. Libertarianism is founded in logic and all of their positions are much stronger than your's... its why you people make straw man videos like this 'cuz you can't win on facts

  • @thenoorys Another way in which you can see the application of the original term "liberal" is the notion of a "liberal democracy", which doesn't include democracies of heavily socialized / draconian redistributionist regimes. Clearly socialism and classical liberalism are mutually exclusive, which is heavily emphasized by Bastiat (who was also French Enlightenment BTW)

  • strawman ad nauseam.

  • ...so a military dictatorship is libertarian?

  • @nojoso yes, since military is private interest

  • @nec3dg You're an idiot.

  • @brandonwashington2 You're a fucking inbred moron. Dummy. The articles don't praise Somalia into heaven. Dummy. Only some aspects. Dummy. To truly be a libertarian country, they must have a police and a judicial systems that guarantee people have basic freedom and rights. Dummy.

  • Somalia is an argument againt anarchism. Whoever think this goes against minarchism is a statist mental midget.

  • @LittleSn00py you are to be disposed of

  • @LittleSn00py No it is free market capitalism or propriatarianism. Anarchist would be against anyone using violence to claim property as their own. But Anarcho-capitalist are in favor of that.

  • @thenoorys You clearly don't know what's free market capitalism. anarchism, and anarcho-capitalism. Find out the definitions of these terms before arguing with me.

  • @LittleSn00py I've only studied it for 3 years and taken part in many anarchist direct actions. Come at me brah. Let's hear your critique

  • @thenoorys Libertarians believe in a limited state which protects basic human freedoms (police, army, courts) . Somalia is a stateless, lawless country where there are no institutions that protect human rights and private property.

  • wait? this was done by the public service administration? lol, so they may lose their jobs if we have private beaches that may make you pay a couple bucks, but that would be affordable if the sales tax rate was cut in half, because of all the government spending? What if the beaches ran on donations? btw Somalia doesn't have a constitutional government, or a national defense.

  • yeah libertarianism=anarchy, the government as established by the constitution is the only government, to guarantee freedom. There is government in somalia it controls the state and employs methods of violence to stay in power.

  • @Rasterius Wow. I assume since you wrote this you're literate. Please open a book written in the last twenty years about Somalia. Biarre's government collapsed in 1991, there's been no central authority, and precious few (weak) regional authorities ever since.

  • @sfitze1 You need some serious help. Libertarians are not anarchists, they believe in property rights and government to protect the liberties of the people. No libertarian ever said we should do without government.

  • @Rasterius you argued there is government in Somalia. There is not. Looking in vain for when I compared libertarianism to anarchism. Witty retort though.

  • @Rasterius You're wrong. Libertarians are about liberty period. Anarchist are libertarians. The libertarians you're talking about are capitalist minarchist, just one brand of libertarianism and actually the least libertarian of all.

  • @Rasterius libertarianism is not anarchy dumbass. anarchism is against social hierarchies and opposed to illegitimate authority. Some libertarian socialist approve of a small amount of illegitimate state authority and all capitalist libertarians approve of illegitimate state authority to (protect property)

  • @thenoorys I never said that. I am agreeing with you, make sure when you call someone out you get the right guy. Next time keep it shut unless you are making a point with someone who disagrees.

  • well its the western world that caused african nations to be where they are now bby funding the extremists. Intersting fact somalia was the only african country that was civilized and doin so well with out the help of america or britian then came colonization and the soamlians fighting back gettin independence which did not settle well with britian and the other colonies hence they started funding groups to keep the country corupt and bribing any president to keep it corrupt. sad truth..

  • I take a scroll through the comments and Perdondaris is making multiple comments every other day. We get it, you dont like Libertarians. Get over it. Find something more productive to do...

  • The next time some arrogant "libertarian" tries to argue for his stateless capitalist ideal, remind him that pure capitalism is plutocracy. Plutocracy can work only with a heavily armed state to support it--a state willing to use torture, violence, lies, religious priesthood (the Party and the Church) to maintain itself. Ayn Rand's capitalist ideal looks a lot like Orwell's 1984.

  • nilebowie[dot]blogspot[dot]com

  • And what form of Government did Somalia have that caused it to fall in the first place? The fact is Somalia never went without Government Rules, for anyone who starts the use of force over another is a Ruler over that person and as long as you have Rulers you have Government.

  • Silly libtards, anarchism isn't the same as libertarianism.

  • This video was pretty funny, even though I disagree with the underlying message. In truth the Somalis are better off now than they were when they had government. This has been shown to be true with quantitative measures comparing pre-anarchy with anarchy. Anything the government can do the private sector can do better (and usually has).

  • @PissedFechtmeister What about health care? Government programs actually cost less per capita than private programs, in the United States and outside of the United States. Also, the general quality of health is also much higher within government run health care systems vs America's privatized industry. If you look into it, I think you'll actually find the majority of government programs, besides military, run more efficiently with how much resources they have and the amount of customers served.

  • @Rasulis Health care has improved in Somalia since shedding their government. For example infants with low birth weight have dropped from 16% to 0.3%. Immunization against TB has gone from 31% to 50%.

  • @PissedFechtmeister Which quantitative measures exactly? The skyrocketing incidents of preventable disease? The plummeting life expectancy rates? What?!?

Actually, I suppose the price of bullets has gone down. You're "dead on" there!

  • @sfitze1 Under anarchy children have higher rates of immunization, there are more physicians per capita, a huge reduction in children born with low birth weight, a big decline in infant and maternal mortality rates, more people with access to sanitation, more access to health facilities, reduced rates of extreme poverty, and fewer measles fatalities.

  • Where can you find pirates?

    Off the coast of Somalia.

Off the coast of Somalia we've got pirates.~

    Wheres your supertanker?

    Off the coast of Somalia.

Come to Somalia: We've got your oil! ~

    (Forget Long John!)

  • You are not in control of whether you succeed or lose in the world (an idea which is the lynchpin of laissez faire capitalism). But you can choose how you react to your situation. There is no formula for success however you quantify it.

  • One reason it is so hard to argue with conservatives is their use of Newspeak. Freedom=unhindered plutocracy. Family values=anglo-saxon Christian patriarchy. Real Americans=those who don't question the Christian plutocracy. 2nd amendment hysteria&xenophobic scapegoating=the use of terror (propaganda and violence) to maintain the Christian plutocracy. Someone should compose a dictionary of conservative Newspeak. Then you can translate the rants of the folks at Reason.com & Fox News.

  • @perdondaris

Don't equate your Big Brother conservatives to anarchists or libertarians please. Also, there are as much anarcho-syndacilists, anarcho-communists and libertarians socialists, and other economically left anarchists out there as anarcho-capitalists.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH Anarcho-communism is impossible. A state is necessary to force redistribution of wealth.

  • @PissedFechtmeister

No it's not. People can seize wealth themselves. You capitalists have been doing it for years. Oh right, that was with government aid to prevent your system from collapsing on itself.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH If the government is"aiding" then by definition it is not capitalism.

  • @perdondaris what you wrote was just beautiful re newspeak.

  • @perdondaris

"One reason it is so hard to argue with conservatives is their use of Newspeak. Freedom=unhindered plutocracy."

    LOL good one

  • I would like to qualify the statement I made about Jews and fascist Italy. Some Jews supported Mussolini--not all Jews. Jews, like virtually every other religious and ethnic group have supported political movements all across the spectrum from socialism to capitalism. So please don't call me an antisemite because I said Jews supported Mussolini. I was just trying point out how Mises' collaboration with Dollfuss disproves the point that fascism and capitalism are mutually exclusive philosophies.

  • Private ownership means private control. People who say businessmen (those who own and manage property) wouldn't discriminate on the basis of race or religion are not very good students of history. Also saying businessman X wouldn't pursue policy Y because it is antisocial and detrimental to the prosperity of the world at large (because it would cost him profits) do not understand some people put a higher value than profit concerning certain things (like religion, ethnicity and patriotism).

  • When you look at every technological advancement made in the 20th century it was based on government subsidies (either to private inventors or by government agencies themselves)--from computers to cars to medicine. Government programs create a technology which private individuals and businessmen use to create programs to better a certain aspect of someone's life.

  • Libertarian != anarchy

  • @chucklin72 No: they just want to eliminate all the programs that help OTHER people - keep the military, the cops, fire fighters, public roads (all the stuff that subsidizes rich people's lifestyles).

  • Property is a completely human creation used to measure things. Property, literally speaking, doesn't exist. There is no unalienable right to things that don't exist.

  • Capitalist Somalia?

I'm pretty sure Somalia has a chaotic economy period, where some work is hierarchial (capitalist), other is "horizontal" and operated by "employees/collective", and other parts have barter economy...etc.

  • Dollfuss was asked about hiring Jews and he said decided Mises was a "good Jew". In other words Dollfuss was a practical politician (or a hypocrite depending on how you define politician). The Habsburg monarchy was influenced by the Roman Catholic Church which has a long history of anti Semitism. Many dynasties supported finance to the extent which bankers would support them. Austrofascism was not the same as German Nazism (Jews supported Mussolini Fascist Italy). Fascism doesn't=anti semitism.

  • THose who throw around the canards of "big government" & "fascism" should know that Ludwig von Mises, one of the intellectual grandfathers of modern day laissez faire capitalism collaborated with the Engelbert Dollfuss regime in Austria. Dollfuss was a traditional Roman Catholic anti semite whose model of government is known as "austrofascism". If you want to throw around the "fascist" label start by looking in the mirror lamborghini libertarians.

  • @perdondaris

    Ludwig von Mises was jewish

and he was supporter of the Habsburg monarchy

which was very friendly towards the Jewish population

  • @perdondaris

Okay, and I'm pretty sure that attacking the person doesn't invalidate the points or policies but qualifies as irrelevant tu quoque. You're literally pulling the libertarian game equivalent of libertarians saying USSR was socialist and Stalin was a socialist because he liked Marx.

    /facepalm

Seriously, you're just like the dogmatic libertarians, except on the opposite side. lmfao.

  • I'm guessing all of libertarian idiots in America have never left the US of A. You go to modern day advanced social democracies which have universal care the price of health care is low. Heck, if you cross the border from Canada to the USA you realize how horrible plutocracy is (the desperation of people who have been screwed by the "entrepreneurial class"). Inequality matters because any system based on rampant inequality (such as capitalism) requires a police state to maintain.

  • The reason capitalism doesn't work is because it hands the management of society to the worst type of human beings--con men. Why is it that in the land of laissez faire religious con men flourish and scientists are treated with contempt and distrust. Capitalists would rather sell out their country then accept any responsibility and limits on the privileges society gives them. Capitalists are handing over the management of America to Beijing. Why? The Chinese pay better.

  • how can u compare the US to Somalia?

  • @Blehdoom Um, dude...the comparison is getting easier every day....

  • The "anarchy" that laissez faire capitalists desire is the anarchy that is a prologue to the worst kinds of tyranny. Whether it was the do nothing Weimar government, the do nothing aristocracies of pre revolutionary France and Russia--the consequences of laissez faire were always the same: revolution or the use of terror (totalitarianism) to maintain the status quo.

  • I'm a libertarian and I laughed. If you can't take a joke what are you? HOWEVER...you could also easily make a socialist utopia video showing ruined Eastern block communities living off two slices of bread a day. Also culture plays a huge role in economic prosperity. At the end of the day all we want is to have the choice. That's it. We want to make our own decisions and not have someone who thinks they know better making them for us, because it's what THEY believe.

  • Somalia is mostly a muslim society. Hey if you like sweatshops, child labor, prostitution because you're a realist that's fine with me. Don't pretend your standing up for some noble sense of freedom and justice when you do it. After all it is a Marxist country that is beating America at capitalism--however you slice it. And Communists and Fascists are better at using their 5th Amendment rights than individualists. Remember it was Mao who said power flows from the barrel of a gun, not John Wayne.

  • That is socialism? What about all of that British, French, and Spanish imperialism that created America? I suppose you are going to say America is a socialist country based on big government imperialism. How about how the government provides an infrastructure for commerce--without which businesses would have to hire private mercenaries to protect their capital (who would charge more than the current tax rates for their protection).

  • LOL! Yeah ass wipes !

  • I am proud to tell my progressive comrades that I have successfully demolished libertarian philosophy. After libertarians failed to respond to my Socratic disquisition they blocked me from debate. Hooray for the socialist movement!

  • @perdondaris Really, because this is just an accurate depiction of what remains after centruies of Italian, French, and British imperialism turned socialist society.

  • @sstteeaalltthh my bad. My understanding of what an anarchy is was a country without a government. You make a good point about warlords.

  • It's not about "a godly temple". It's about fraud. A lot of "prostitutes" only sell depictions of their body ("the godly temple" is preserved). In our capitalist system fraud is the norm and not the exception. Let's take the media. If CNN is biased then that is the right of Ted Turner to report the news liberally just as it is Rupert Murdoch's right to report the news conservatively. Political correctness is justifiable in terms of capitalism (as an expression of the definition of ownership).

  • that is'nt funny

  • i clicked liked only cause its funny, not cause i agree!

  • @Timb0NZ

    So did I.

  • Somalia is better than their neighbors... which have governments!

  • This is hilarious!

  • Phew, I'm happy they didn't mention that the Somalis have been better off without government than with a socialist one, that would completely ruin their point!

  • Libertarians always revert to the same old standard "free markets". But free markets are interpreted in the same manner as "God's will" was in ages past and "the People's Will" quite recently. But the uncertainty in the markets prove that the market that there isn't one decision the market makes (just as God's will and the People's Will is based upon perspective so are the decisions of the market). There are many different schools of libertarianism just as there are various sects of religion.
