Milarepa speaks to the everyday human being telling us that we all can achieve enlightenment no matter what we've said or done or in whichever situation we find ourselves.
@IgorSavtchenko He was in fact the heart son of Milarepa, to whom Mila passed all of his wisdom. This is why the Kagyu lineages consider Gampopa to be the founder of their monastic traditions.
@smoothgoomer Thank you for such a heart-felt answer. Tilopa is another interesting character (indirectly) in this Kagyu lineage, along with Marpa. Buddhism is infinitely interesting to me. Be it Mahayana, Theravada, or Vajrayana. Anyhow, thanks again. Travel well.
one can never be considered ordinary if he attains buddhahood, even if it is apparently normal human being with its limitations. karmic maturity is fully understandable when one finishes his things and achieves. but there are always certain signs in those rare persons marking them as the grat ones and for some people of knowledge [at least] are these readable. but, buddha state can not be attained by personal will, only by certain constellations of human fate.
