i like this. which is odd because i usually don't like this kind of thing, but there's a real undercurrent of passion in this song which i love. also, dudemanguyguy just because the genre or chord formation or tempo might have already been done it doesn't necessarily make it bad. practically all chord progessions have been done and different genres are hard to find, and there is also a reason why most music is in 4x4 or 3x4, it's because it's pleasing to hear and easier to sing along to

What are you bringing to the table that's new? This sounds an aweful lot like a ton of other bands that I listen to on the radio before I go to another station. 4x4 beat, uninteresting drums, meh chord progression, cookie cutter singer. You need to shake off your influences and not just add to the collective.

Dude, you must be kidding! it looks like you just arrived from your first music lesson, am I right? 99,9% of the western music is written in 4x4 or 6x8!! and "meh chord progression"??? what do you mean?? the song has changes of harmony!!!! (G#m E B D#m) (G#m A F#m D) (E C#m G#m B). Even if it wasn't in a complicated harmony it could still be a great song, there's not relationship at all in music between complicated and good.

That's exactly my point is 99.99% of western music is 4x4 or 3x4. What I want to see in new music is artists breaking out of it and expanding the confines of musical rhythm. Guthrie Govan's "Fives" is a good example, though he's solely focused on guitar wizardry.

Even in their confines of 4x4, they don't even bother to add any rhythm at all to their music. It's a barrage of chords solely focused as support to the singer and the lyrics. That's a trait common in pop music that I would rather not see in the rock music that I listen to. If I wanted to listen to lyrics without any other interesting music, I would be reading poems.

You've got a good point man. Probably admitting that the song was good would have satisfied a lot of the egos on here.

dudemanguy just wants to see new stuff. He wants to see music evolve. He wants new artist to at least attempt at creating something unique or innovative.

You can't hate or trash on a person for that. It's a legitimate opinion. I, personally, think it's a well written song and there's great talent behind it. That being said, I can say I still agree with dude.

Musically a great sound - how do I say this without sounding like I am negative ?

This track is so refined ! sounds so sweet , too sweet vocally in combination with the music that presents a rock and kick butt concept .The two do not seem to combine somehow, a strange combination ,like singing a sweet love song to a heavy ,"Dark Metal ", track - the 2 are hard to combine and still sound meaningful and attractive ! I will listen to more, perhaps your other tracks will touch my musical hot spot.
