dont be a silly flat-earther! 13 years ago i invested in an energy efficent water heater, central furnace, refrigerator, and swapped all light bulbs for LEDs. Cut my energy use in half with no change in lifestyle, saved $2000 a year in electric bills. Initial investment - $5000. Savings over 13 years _ $26,ooo!

If you save $2k a year and still use electricity, maybe you should change your lifestyle and live in a smaller home. My entire years bill is less than 2k. Come to the Philippines or visit any "once-environmentally-rich-turned-poor-nation" and see why we, THE POOR, are very much concerned about global warming. You have aircondition to cool yourselves despite global warming... but we don't have.
Have you heard the so-called "Happy Poor" mentioned by Mother Theresa? Men or women are not merely consuming beings but a part of the ecosystem. With you reducing human beings into economic beings... you are no different with Karl Marx. Now, tell me, is it me who is the "red" or is it you?
Your point actually explains why the suicide rate in higher in your country (and the econometric Japan) than in the Philippines... My advise: JUST CLEAN UP YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL MESS SO THAT WE COULD ALSO LIVE. LIVE AND LET OTHERS LIVE.
Americans are not the only people in this planet. You exploited our forests to build your houses. You raped our women to satisfy your soldiers. You polluted our air destroying our rich ecosystem... now you are saying "so much conern...???"
"Exploit" is a synonym for "employ". Somebody got paid for that wood. If your economic system is so screwed up that the wrong people got paid, don't blame others. Fix your economic system.
We raped your women? Every single one of them? Or are you just stroking with the broadest brush possible?
Semantically and even logically, "employ" and "exploit" have never been synanymous. And why should I not blame "others." It is you who screwed our economy. THAT IS WHY I AM TELLING YOU GO BACK TO YOUR HISTORY. Maybe you do not even know where Philippines is.
The lexicographical meaning of the words does not provide a real the social constructs of these words... That is why we in the east are telling that the westerners are hegemonizing us, especially in understanding the "environment". I hope that by now, you already have an idea of what hegemony is.
Sometimes, people tend to ignore the message because of the messenger. My goodness, the writings on global warming are already on the wall. Yet, many ignores it because they think it is more convenient to ignore it than to disturb their comfort zones.
Well, my bet is, it will turn out to be the Sun that is causing our current warming. So, to spend trillions of dollars on a "problem", about which you can do nothing, seems insane.
And now you are saying "so much concern for the poor." After raping our natural resources and contributing to the destruction of the global environment, you say "so much concern for the poor." Hey, CLEAN UP YOUR MESS. Do not kill us!!!
Well, if huge sums are spent on a problem that does not exist, then those sums are unavailable to create wealth. And, those who actually care about poverty would rather solve that problem than piss away money trying to change the weather.
The Left uses poor people as a means of gaining power. Leftists need to keep people poor in order to control them.
Both the Left and the Rightist conservatives are exploiting the people. So what makes the difference??? Well, the neo-conservatives think they do it for "goodness" sake. Lucifer and Satan are two different names but they are the same. Got that?
Both sides of the issue stand to make or lose money. Who do you think is going to get the money from carbon credits? Won't be mother earth and it won't be our children...
If carbon credits work, then I think we should expand this way of thinking. When I travel to Texas each year for a 1,000 mile trip, it takes too long at 70 mph, so I propose we have speed credits. That way I can do 100 mph and pay someone to go 40 mph for me. Hey, I'm beginning to warm to this principle. :)
Actually, I have seen no good evidence that the Earth is warming significantly. What I do see is selective use of data (UNIPCC), anecdotal evidence (boy, it shore wuz hot taday) and propagorea (hurricane Katrina was caused by global warming. yup. Send me yore money, lend me yore vote)
I never liked Al Gore as a politician. Especially with the Clinton Admin's foreign policy to the Philippines. But, I have to draw the line between the "encoder" of the message (Al Gore) and the validity of the "message" (about global warming). I salute Gore's his message, not his personality.
Yes, foreign policy to the Philippines... Common... go back as study your American foreign policies before you comment about it. Like what I have said, I may not like the "encoder" but certainly, I review the "message."
Are you really aware??? If so, do you know how many toxic chemicals were left by the US Bases here in 1991... and hundreds--young and old--are still suffering because. What about the chemicals left by the minings of US corporations here. We are dying here because we trusted the US Government.
My god!!! what temerity you have to say such thing!!! Are you sure you went to school and studied social sciences. Politics has never been local since "New Manifest Destiny" doctrine of the US. There is no more point dicussing with you since we could not intellectually level off.
Bahhh!!! How myopic!!! Politics is both local and global, unless you are living during the Dark Ages.
Don't give me your "argumentum ad hominem" by telling me that I am emotional. My reason is as good as the natural environment that your kind destroyed (and is continually destroying).
Call me emotional... or whatever. I don't care. JUST CLEAN UP YOUR MESS. Don't throw your garbage in the air that is also breathed by other people in the planet. The EARTH is not yours to destroy. Common, get up and pick up your garbage. Stop justifying your "environmental crime."
Well, when it comes to environmental mess, the place to look is the third world. China is building a new coal-fired electrical plant every week. Kyoto does not even apply to them.
Meanwhile the air in the U.S. is cleaner than it was thirty years ago.
You should stop shouting and whining and do something meaningful if you think there is a problem.
Yes, the "place to look is the third world" because it is here where most of the things you use and take for granted--raw materials and finished--in the US are from the third world. You have a "clean country" at the expense through the manipulation of your officials. COMMON... JUST CLEAN UP YOUR MESS.
How many jobs do your nation give in return to the natural resources your country gets from us???? Read this: "INSIGNIFICANT" yet you are causing significant damage to our environment. COMMON, CLEAN UP YOUR MESS... YOU TOXIC MESS IN US SUBIC AND CLARK AIRBASES here in the Philippines.
In view of the FACTS that 1.) AN EXTREMELY SMALL (00.04) PERCENTAGE of the Earth's atmosphere is CO2
2.) ALMOST ALL CO2 was produced by "Mother Nature" and that
3.) MOST MAN-MADE CO2 originates from OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES,
It is blatant racism is say that America "throws garbage in the air" when carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant nor is it a "Green House Gas" (the ONLY significant ghg is water vapor.)
Why don't we just focus on the issue on Global Warming and not on Al Gore. What most people say about Gore is quite fallacious--argumentum ad hominem.
Excellent vid! Al and the idiots who like him are what's wrong w/ this country. Our public educational system has helped to dumb down the masses. Who runs this system, you ask? The liberal-whack-offs, of course!
The problem that arises with an issue such as Global Warming is that there are two sides that can claim to be right, and no one can do anything beyond theorize about it because the trends they are talking about take thousands to millions of years to run before you see what is really happening. Not only that but if we really are artificially accelerating a natural effect then it would take a very long time to reverse what we have done. In fact, it might be irreversible.
I was very happy that Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize. Over the past few years, he has been spreading awareness about global warming, which is not a hoax, there is scientific evidence. I'm sure that all of the candidates for the award devote their lives' to noble causes, but the fact is, Gore has achieved more in a short amount of time through his (dare I say it) celebrity. "An Inconvenient Truth" inspired me to care about conservation and the way I live. Al Gore for President!
Some don't believe in global warming. Because they are subject to a mass campaign of disinformation run by a corrupt government controlled media in the aim of misleading a nation as a political maneuver.
Yes it's a cover up. Have you ever heard of haarp? Do you know that by studying solar cycles, astronomers actually predicted an apogee of sunspot levels on the sun in 2007? I'm sending you an eMail, have fun with it.
They ignore the macroscopical phenomenology of our existance, the delicate climatic balance in which our civilisation emerged and developed and the dangers menacing it because it comes between them and their profits. You perpetuate the constant cycle of greed. they make money off oil. Not global Warming.
My valley, cut by a glacier, has shark and other marine animal bones to be found by children all over the place.
Something tells me that even with all the artificial intervention of the greatest magnitude that one thing is VERY clear,...its happened before, and it will happen again.
I think its you that has been fooled with dis-information of anti-*insert cause of the day here* haters, and the all knowing Progressive Liberal Democrats.
Stupid... I'd rather make my child grow thinking the real kind of world he has than make him live in a "make-believe" world created by psychotic people who tries to down-play the truth about and threats of global warming.
Perhaps you have forgotten the hysteria 30 years ago about GLOBAL COOLING. Same hype and BS and nothing came of it because it was BS just like it is now. Scientist have concluded the earth is in a warming trend that will last 30 years, it has happened before and it will happen again. Also, when you consider in the last 100 years the average temperature has gone up a whole 1 degree I don't think I am going to lose any sleep tonight.
Many western countries don't see the impact of global warming on their lives as they continue to drain poor countries of food that could feed millions that are dying because their crops are affected by the emission of greenhouse gasses from "rich" countries. Let us not reduce the issue into "personality." If the "devil" tells me that my house is burning, I would take hid of this warning. Al Gore happens to be telling us somthing that should concern us.
Why are you scared to look at the evidence that global warming is not caused by man. I am open minded and I have looked at both sides and science tells us global warming is natural. In fact Gores movie has shown to have major scientific flaws in it. Don't be so close minded, look at the evidence.
I have perused what you call "evidences" that is why I am convinced that global warming is truly happening. I started as skeptic but as I read and listened to explanations from both sides (plus my phenomenological experience here in the tropics), I can say that global warming is truly happening. Don't be hegemonized...
Nobody is saying global warming is not taking place. The dispute is what is causing it nature or man. Also, I have yet to see any explanation why the temperature on Mars has risen the same as Earth. Is that caused by SUV's or by an increased output of the sun? Also, if he were that sure why does he refuse to debate the facts? These fanatical environmentalist refuse to look at anything other than what they agree with. Does that not seem odd to you?
brscth, you can't argue fashion. Right now it's fashionable. Give it 10 years and nobody will be talking about it. Nobody will be held accountable for this hysteria. Al Gore will still have his now meaningless trophies.
Yes, hegemonized... And I think you do know the meaning of it. Or, do you??? My goodness... so what if it sounds (hegemony) like those in the Red Book??? Is the word hegemony wrong because it is found in the Red Book???
There can be no doubt that change may occur without apparent reason or design but one must not make the mistake of assuming that what is phenomenologically present is an adequate description of how things really are. For example, how can you explain the very low average temperatures of Mars whose atmosphere extends much further into space than the Earth's and is almost intirely composed of CO2?
What will the Nobel team do in a couple of years when even the most die-hard supporters have to admit to the "Biggest Scam Of The New Century"! Will they retract? Did they retract the prize when Arafat's heinous actions were revealed? No fucking way.
is it GTREA that Gore won the Nobel, it is for the Earth, all of us. DOn't believe me, google the term "polar cities" or Wikipedia it, and you will see what trouble we are really in. Go go, Gore!
Shame on Gore andShame on those who support him in his big lie-- HE IS PROFITING from this big lie! The British have more wisdom than the Americans in this- A Judge there ruled that there are 9 key points in his film that are not scientifically correct- just lies---They require both points of view to be shared with kids watching this and they require teachers to point out the lies in the film to the children-- GO BRITS!

"Exploit" is a synonym for "employ". Somebody got paid for that wood. If your economic system is so screwed up that the wrong people got paid, don't blame others. Fix your economic system.
We raped your women? Every single one of them? Or are you just stroking with the broadest brush possible?
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Semantically and even logically, "employ" and "exploit" have never been synanymous. And why should I not blame "others." It is you who screwed our economy. THAT IS WHY I AM TELLING YOU GO BACK TO YOUR HISTORY. Maybe you do not even know where Philippines is.

Here is a clip from a dictionary:
to utilize, esp. for profit; turn to practical account: to exploit a business opportunity.
Employ resources, exploit resources-- same thing.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
The lexicographical meaning of the words does not provide a real the social constructs of these words... That is why we in the east are telling that the westerners are hegemonizing us, especially in understanding the "environment". I hope that by now, you already have an idea of what hegemony is.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Now I know why Barak Obama is needed in the US to become the new president of that nation....
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Sometimes, people tend to ignore the message because of the messenger. My goodness, the writings on global warming are already on the wall. Yet, many ignores it because they think it is more convenient to ignore it than to disturb their comfort zones.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Well, my bet is, it will turn out to be the Sun that is causing our current warming. So, to spend trillions of dollars on a "problem", about which you can do nothing, seems insane.
So much for concerns for the "poor".
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
And now you are saying "so much concern for the poor." After raping our natural resources and contributing to the destruction of the global environment, you say "so much concern for the poor." Hey, CLEAN UP YOUR MESS. Do not kill us!!!
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Well, if huge sums are spent on a problem that does not exist, then those sums are unavailable to create wealth. And, those who actually care about poverty would rather solve that problem than piss away money trying to change the weather.
The Left uses poor people as a means of gaining power. Leftists need to keep people poor in order to control them.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Both the Left and the Rightist conservatives are exploiting the people. So what makes the difference??? Well, the neo-conservatives think they do it for "goodness" sake. Lucifer and Satan are two different names but they are the same. Got that?
siwawervintar 4 years ago
This is hillarious! To hell with Al Gore.
Politically motivated consensus verdict is one step below mental retardation and one step above expert opinion.

Both sides of the issue stand to make or lose money. Who do you think is going to get the money from carbon credits? Won't be mother earth and it won't be our children...
Calliber50 4 years ago
hilarious.. only a brain dead moron would give the silly notion of global warming (er,, man made) more than a passing laugh.
my fault,, i just described liberals.
broman2235 4 years ago
If carbon credits work, then I think we should expand this way of thinking. When I travel to Texas each year for a 1,000 mile trip, it takes too long at 70 mph, so I propose we have speed credits. That way I can do 100 mph and pay someone to go 40 mph for me. Hey, I'm beginning to warm to this principle. :)
Keilleri 4 years ago
Actually, I have seen no good evidence that the Earth is warming significantly. What I do see is selective use of data (UNIPCC), anecdotal evidence (boy, it shore wuz hot taday) and propagorea (hurricane Katrina was caused by global warming. yup. Send me yore money, lend me yore vote)
wentwirth 4 years ago
I never liked Al Gore as a politician. Especially with the Clinton Admin's foreign policy to the Philippines. But, I have to draw the line between the "encoder" of the message (Al Gore) and the validity of the "message" (about global warming). I salute Gore's his message, not his personality.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Foreign policy to the Philippines? Eh?
You overlook Clinton's regard for Monica's warm globes?
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Yes, foreign policy to the Philippines... Common... go back as study your American foreign policies before you comment about it. Like what I have said, I may not like the "encoder" but certainly, I review the "message."
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Oh, I am well aware of our history with the Philippines. It's just seems, given our current panoply of pressing matters, somewhat less than pressing.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Are you really aware??? If so, do you know how many toxic chemicals were left by the US Bases here in 1991... and hundreds--young and old--are still suffering because. What about the chemicals left by the minings of US corporations here. We are dying here because we trusted the US Government.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Well, as they say, all politics are local.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
My god!!! what temerity you have to say such thing!!! Are you sure you went to school and studied social sciences. Politics has never been local since "New Manifest Destiny" doctrine of the US. There is no more point dicussing with you since we could not intellectually level off.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Of course politics are local. Think about it.
You seem rather emotional, however. Cognitive dissonance setting in?
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Bahhh!!! How myopic!!! Politics is both local and global, unless you are living during the Dark Ages.
Don't give me your "argumentum ad hominem" by telling me that I am emotional. My reason is as good as the natural environment that your kind destroyed (and is continually destroying).
siwawervintar 4 years ago
But, you are emotional. Just stating the obvious.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Call me emotional... or whatever. I don't care. JUST CLEAN UP YOUR MESS. Don't throw your garbage in the air that is also breathed by other people in the planet. The EARTH is not yours to destroy. Common, get up and pick up your garbage. Stop justifying your "environmental crime."
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Well, when it comes to environmental mess, the place to look is the third world. China is building a new coal-fired electrical plant every week. Kyoto does not even apply to them.
Meanwhile the air in the U.S. is cleaner than it was thirty years ago.
You should stop shouting and whining and do something meaningful if you think there is a problem.
Whiney pussy.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Yes, the "place to look is the third world" because it is here where most of the things you use and take for granted--raw materials and finished--in the US are from the third world. You have a "clean country" at the expense through the manipulation of your officials. COMMON... JUST CLEAN UP YOUR MESS.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
The obtaining of those raw materials is what creates employment for so many in the third world.
Do you have a job? If so, be grateful. If not, study harder.
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
How many jobs do your nation give in return to the natural resources your country gets from us???? Read this: "INSIGNIFICANT" yet you are causing significant damage to our environment. COMMON, CLEAN UP YOUR MESS... YOU TOXIC MESS IN US SUBIC AND CLARK AIRBASES here in the Philippines.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
You ninny. Nobody "gives" jobs. You find employment. People employ you. Deals are done.
Now, what did you do with all that money, piss it away? Obviously, you did not clean up after yourself.
And wear protection when you screw those monkeys, for all our sakes.
Disgraceful behaviour!
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Roger, you have no idea or clue as to what you are talking about. You are the ninny.
digitalWarp 4 years ago
Okay, now logically refute me.
Who "gives" jobs away?
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
In view of the FACTS that 1.) AN EXTREMELY SMALL (00.04) PERCENTAGE of the Earth's atmosphere is CO2
2.) ALMOST ALL CO2 was produced by "Mother Nature" and that
3.) MOST MAN-MADE CO2 originates from OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES,
It is blatant racism is say that America "throws garbage in the air" when carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant nor is it a "Green House Gas" (the ONLY significant ghg is water vapor.)
opchidexio 4 years ago
Why don't we just focus on the issue on Global Warming and not on Al Gore. What most people say about Gore is quite fallacious--argumentum ad hominem.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Now if Al Gore isn't one dumb-ass lookin' lackey, I don't know who is.
tunnelrat1900 4 years ago
Excellent vid! Al and the idiots who like him are what's wrong w/ this country. Our public educational system has helped to dumb down the masses. Who runs this system, you ask? The liberal-whack-offs, of course!
kickyerass 4 years ago
The problem that arises with an issue such as Global Warming is that there are two sides that can claim to be right, and no one can do anything beyond theorize about it because the trends they are talking about take thousands to millions of years to run before you see what is really happening. Not only that but if we really are artificially accelerating a natural effect then it would take a very long time to reverse what we have done. In fact, it might be irreversible.
digitalWarp 4 years ago
I was very happy that Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize. Over the past few years, he has been spreading awareness about global warming, which is not a hoax, there is scientific evidence. I'm sure that all of the candidates for the award devote their lives' to noble causes, but the fact is, Gore has achieved more in a short amount of time through his (dare I say it) celebrity. "An Inconvenient Truth" inspired me to care about conservation and the way I live. Al Gore for President!

When you use the term 'global warming'
just WHAT is it that you are referring too?
Perhaps you could heighten my 'awareness'?

So... why didn't Algore blow the top off it after he invented the internet.

Yes it's a cover up. Have you ever heard of haarp? Do you know that by studying solar cycles, astronomers actually predicted an apogee of sunspot levels on the sun in 2007? I'm sending you an eMail, have fun with it.
TheNewHumanist 4 years ago
Yeah, I've been following HAARP for over a decade now.
Did you know it also capable of causeing mental confusion with its ELF and some are sure it is for mind control?
So why hasn't the former VP came forward to explain this...
I will watch the movie... thanx
ResearchMonkeyWDC 4 years ago
Well, theoretically it's capable of manipulating nerve cells because it uses the same high frequency electromagnetic waves... Theoretically...
TheNewHumanist 4 years ago
They ignore the macroscopical phenomenology of our existance, the delicate climatic balance in which our civilisation emerged and developed and the dangers menacing it because it comes between them and their profits. You perpetuate the constant cycle of greed. they make money off oil. Not global Warming.

Stupid... I'd rather make my child grow thinking the real kind of world he has than make him live in a "make-believe" world created by psychotic people who tries to down-play the truth about and threats of global warming.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Perhaps you have forgotten the hysteria 30 years ago about GLOBAL COOLING. Same hype and BS and nothing came of it because it was BS just like it is now. Scientist have concluded the earth is in a warming trend that will last 30 years, it has happened before and it will happen again. Also, when you consider in the last 100 years the average temperature has gone up a whole 1 degree I don't think I am going to lose any sleep tonight.
brscth 4 years ago 2
Many western countries don't see the impact of global warming on their lives as they continue to drain poor countries of food that could feed millions that are dying because their crops are affected by the emission of greenhouse gasses from "rich" countries. Let us not reduce the issue into "personality." If the "devil" tells me that my house is burning, I would take hid of this warning. Al Gore happens to be telling us somthing that should concern us.
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Why are you scared to look at the evidence that global warming is not caused by man. I am open minded and I have looked at both sides and science tells us global warming is natural. In fact Gores movie has shown to have major scientific flaws in it. Don't be so close minded, look at the evidence.
brscth 4 years ago 2
I have perused what you call "evidences" that is why I am convinced that global warming is truly happening. I started as skeptic but as I read and listened to explanations from both sides (plus my phenomenological experience here in the tropics), I can say that global warming is truly happening. Don't be hegemonized...
siwawervintar 4 years ago
Nobody is saying global warming is not taking place. The dispute is what is causing it nature or man. Also, I have yet to see any explanation why the temperature on Mars has risen the same as Earth. Is that caused by SUV's or by an increased output of the sun? Also, if he were that sure why does he refuse to debate the facts? These fanatical environmentalist refuse to look at anything other than what they agree with. Does that not seem odd to you?
brscth 4 years ago
brscth, you can't argue fashion. Right now it's fashionable. Give it 10 years and nobody will be talking about it. Nobody will be held accountable for this hysteria. Al Gore will still have his now meaningless trophies.
Calliber50 4 years ago
"Don't be hegemonized..."
Good one. Is that from the Little Red Book? I think I recognize the accent.
Ever notice the Sun is shining brighter? One scientist recently pointed it the Sun is brighter now than in the past 8,000 years.
Can't do much about it, though. No matter, in about 20 years or so we start a cooling trend. Way cooler, not warmer. Big threat.
Is the Sun "hegemonizing" us?
RogerOnTheRight 4 years ago
Yes, hegemonized... And I think you do know the meaning of it. Or, do you??? My goodness... so what if it sounds (hegemony) like those in the Red Book??? Is the word hegemony wrong because it is found in the Red Book???
siwawervintar 4 years ago
There can be no doubt that change may occur without apparent reason or design but one must not make the mistake of assuming that what is phenomenologically present is an adequate description of how things really are. For example, how can you explain the very low average temperatures of Mars whose atmosphere extends much further into space than the Earth's and is almost intirely composed of CO2?
opchidexio 4 years ago
If the devil lies to you about your house, then what? You panic anyway? Mindless.
Western countries are draining poor countries of food? Last I checked, the US was a net food exporter, not importer. As are India and China.
Besides which, warm weather kills fewer people than cold weather.

Shame on Gore andShame on those who support him in his big lie-- HE IS PROFITING from this big lie!
