I've tried to locate down Tokyo Godfathers soundtrack but with no results... The musicbox piece that plays in the beginning of the trailer (and in the movie when Hana tells Miyuki the legend of Blue Devil and Red Devil) is something really cute and nostalgic. That would make a perfect phone ringtone.

Sigh...Kon's films are like the ultimate cure for masculinity, fun, nice drawing, joy.

I keep expecting his work to finally be good then I watch them "Wack". Seems fascinated with portraying characters that are sexless,non-threatening, unlikeable, purposeless and uncompelling. And enough of the lame ass semi-rotoscope style. Can this dudes studio at least try to actually DRAW. Pseudo tracing doesn't cut it for 5 movies straight.

@o82774 Ah personally, this is way better than the generic anime art style everyone always uses. It's a refreshing break from seeing the same fucking emoticon inspired facial expressions and emotions. Not to mention the repetitive kind of stupid humor involved in mainstream anime. It gets pretty predictable, sadly.

I sort of agree. I know what you mean but the generic stuff while more conventional is better drawn. Pick your poison I'm an anime fan and have to say that the medium's best years are behind it. The energy and soul are gone. They just throw 2000 people into every production that the work is over-produced beyond slick. I know people want their animation to look like it is factory tooled but for me it cheapens the experience.

@o82774 I do agree about its best years long gone. Every anime that comes out nowadays contains predictable stories, repetitive humor, and overused cliches. And while their art style is generic.. at least they're precise about it. But for me, THAT destroys my experience of it.

Although the art style here may not be your cup of tea, I'd say give it a chance simply because it doesn't follow the conventional limitations of today's anime. To me it is something refreshing to watch.

Great film, horrible trailer. This trailer does not do the film justice. It's so sad when US distributors have a problem marketing foreign films, designing misleading trailers, advertisements, etc. It happens 95% of the time.

Kon (the animator and cowriter) is freakin' awesome. I highely reccomend this and any of his other movies. (Just recently watched 'Paprika'. Strange, but definitely interesting ;3) I can't wait to watch this, though, and it's the perfect movie for chrismas. I may rent it to watch later Christmas Eve <3

This movie is awesome,i mean the story is full of coincidences (like the way they found the rich guy in the street)and required a lot of suspension of disbelief ,but for some reason i didn't care,maybe is because the characters are so damn good, or maybe the awesome humor, or maybe the whole idea of the coincidences was to tell the greatest christmas miracle of all time...ahhh anyway incredible film, one of my favorite animes of all time :D (man i love Satoshi Kon :D)

@asianwack not really,the "eve" is the night before something...es. christmas eve is the day before christmas (the 24th of december) I'm not really sure why the speaker talks of a winter's eve, from what I understand it should be a way to say in effect a winter's night, instead of implying a specific day
