i did the rattle can job on my s10...my trucks currently doing a real paint job....when you said you clearcoated i thought well shit maybe his might last...everytime i drove the truck..originally white/ sprey painted black all u would see was black chipped off paint lol...nice nice look....i am so glad i got a good body guy, undortunately asfter my truck...is going out of state for a new start...so...there goes my hookup on body work!

first off not the worst paint job i have seen.....now second nice job on paying someone to clearcoat it with automotive clear its a "great!!" idea....third for anyone watching the pigments in rattle cans are not LIGHTFAST meaning they fade with exposure to light,so i wouldnt recommend doing this sort of paint job unless you dont care if it lasts....one good thing about the automotive clear is it will protect the paint job BUT will outlast the pigments under the clear..so keep that in mind...
maybe its the quality of the video but i work at a bodyshop and know how to paint and do bondo work but your paint job looks funny on camera, looks like the red fades in and out of coverage in weird spots where it shouldn't but i dunno maybe that is what you were going for but me i'm gonna stick with house of kolors i think it will pop a lil better out in the sun.
This paint job isn't my cup of tea, but YOUR work turned out well. Looks amazing! The clear coat how ever, looks just about as "orange peely" as can be. I'd get on the guy that did the job for you and tell him not to use a Windex spray bottle when applying it next time, even if you did only pay $100. Seeing how much time and effort you put into the actual color/design, you would have done a much better job yourself for cheaper I'm sure. Keep up the good work man!

I have a red van I'm trying to de-rust in my parking lot and have so many ideas of what I want to do thanks to this video. Ive noticed that most marble/wrinkle effects are done with silver on black then with the candy spray. My van is red and id like to do a lava effect.... (Her name is Lava... :D).....So would I spray black on it instead then use the plastic...then spray a red candy over it.....clear coat then wet-sand etc?

I'm a HUGE fan of Gold pearl - I think everything should have some pearl in it :) Dont let people tear ya down. Enjoyed ya video! I spray painted my Suzuki Swift several years back just to see if it were possible and it turned out to be a GREAT paint job and still looks good to this day! I commend you on the amount of work you put into painting it by hand but I think you wrecked the car visually. I know it takes thousands to repaint a car and yeah you got it for free which is good but imo it doesn't look at great.
What would happen if you tried to buff out the paint to make it more of a glass like finish. The spray can paint would more than likely come off pretty quick eh?

not much post paint sanding done to any of the paint... it appears . major orange peel . but it looks nice from 10 foot away. great job overall mulder. i will prob do the same thing to my 85 crown vic....

i did a couple hoods tried different colour combos did some of the efects from the edd hubbs site marble flames water drop and a couple others i tried to see your attempt but dont witch one to klick on im no very computor savy but keep trying patience does help good luck mr Brian

As for rustollium roller I do not know you would probably have to buff it down well to mak it look smooth I would try a small item like a fender or a trunk and see how it looks

how did you keep the red from drying in such large areas with spray bombs,i tried your method on smaller objects, and it came out wonderful, however...... i tried it on my helmet and the paint dried almost instantly. i used a very heavy single coat, but still did not come out looking anything like your beautiful job. please let me know what you think. i cannot start on my bike until i pin point this problem..

I never did wet sand But if you want to i would probably start with 600 dont sand to I am not a pro. body man try some wet sand vids good luck

did you wet sand at the end or the middle if so what grit you use cuz im doing this right now and i need to know what should i use im using a spray gun tho thanks

not much post paint sanding done to any of the paint... it appears . major orange peel . but it looks nice from 10 foot away. great job overall mulder. i will prob do the same thing to my 85 crown vic....

I think you mean Edd hubbs on u tube look for wrinkel effect he uses air brush but you can do it with spray bombs

Thank you very much. I'm glad you like it and good luck with your Supra. I am planning to do another car showing the whole process. This one possibly planets, solar systems etc. ..... kind of like air brushing with spray bombs .

People don't realize even Rolls Royce cars were hand painted for about 50 years.
The people who mock others are those who want everyone to pay them for their over priced work.
True artists go against the mainstream and in the end their work is considered priceless. This car is very cool am considering doing same on 88 Supra.. U rock dude!

i used cans for everything then i paid a guy 100 to spray clear give it a try on somthing small good luck

to all the arse holes and nit pickers who im sure have beautiful custom rides and deep pockets to pay for them . yes there is some orange peel no the paint jobe isent perfict If i wanted to spend a nother week cuting and polishing that would be gone But you are missing the whole f ing point !!!!!!!! of this vid. It is to give young guys a decent looking car they can afford to do themselves. and not get screwed buy those rip off shopes out there .later in life a pro job may be possible

i did a couple hoods tried different colour combos did some of the efects from the edd hubbs site marble flames water drop and a couple others i tried to see your attempt but dont witch one to klick on im no very computor savy but keep trying patience does help good luck mr Brian

thank you for your comment i am like anyone else i thought there is a cheaper way to get a cool looking car . when you are young it to expensive for most people .try it yourself on somthing small like a fender . As for the last two comments . about oange peel I dont owne the car anymore but I wold love to see the pics of your 400 paint jobs .

As for rustollium roller I do not know you would probably have to buff it down well to mak it look smooth I would try a small item like a fender or a trunk and see how it looks

how did you keep the red from drying in such large areas with spray bombs,i tried your method on smaller objects, and it came out wonderful, however...... i tried it on my helmet and the paint dried almost instantly. i used a very heavy single coat, but still did not come out looking anything like your beautiful job. please let me know what you think. i cannot start on my bike until i pin point this problem..

this car was black then sprayed over with silver heavy so it stays wet then cover with plastic sheet and pull off let dry then apply cady red or blue green looks cool to follow basic steps as edd hubbs (wrinkel effect video ) You can go black oversilver to
