Well on telus no u have to go to at least the data50 plan but like them people at telus told me 500mb takes you a long way if you do not use youtube

For this phone, you'll have to get the expensive data plans, but you can change your plans after one year. If you want to save money, buy the Telus sim card (HSPA) for 9.99 and insert the sim into any unlocked phone

i just spoke to about 3 customer service and tech support reps from telus n they said that there is no way we can use the phone with GSM.even if we unlock the phone its only for their international roamin SIM card.

BTW - the accelerometer is NOT making the screen go landscape to portrait when you open up the keyboard - it's the flippin' keyboard that's doing it! :) Video looks awesome! Core Player is going to be great on this device - we'll be able to decode video from all those tough sources *snicker*... LIMEWIRE ;-) DIVX oh yeah! that's one thing I can say about Windows Mobile devices - you can watch an infinite amount of video codecs with the right app. CORE PLAYER!

I don't know why his keyboard is not lighting up... it should be lighting up... maybe there's a setting now (versus the old Touch Pro) that allows you to adjust this. This is a GSM is supposedly quad-band including most 850 and 1900 (the meat of the US market.) Windows Mobile is known to be easily hacked (without a buncha extra special software.) If this phone does come with GSM quad locked I'll be certainly opening that puppy right with a nice HACK!

i believe it's a world hybrid phone that includes cdma as well as gsm quad bands, and it's verified by the sim card slot under the battery cover.

the gsm side would be locked, but could probably be software unlocked later on;)

yeah i saw the sim, but my work phone(nextel) has a cdma only sim not gsm, i put in my gsm and it doesnt work. i get u on the software though. but no light on the qwerty equals no deal for me plus im in california so itll be a little hard for me to get.

no, its cdma and t mobile is gsm. you can get the unlocked european version though, but its pricey and doesnt work with north american 3g.

actually there is a quad band GSM radio, so it would be possible, if you unlock it.

the european gsm version will only work on edge becuase edge is quad band and its made for european 3g which is dual band (whereas the 3g in n.a. is tri band

). the cdma one cant be unlocked.

While there 2 of the bands will be set to European frequencies the other two will be set to N.A. frequencies.

This phone will also work on the new Telus HSPA network. Triband phones are pretty much useless these days because the third band was on an older technology (for rogers TDMA) now that the newer networks cover the same area it is pointless to have the 3rd voice only hands, N.A 3g is NOT triband, however they do use 2 bands, but that is to increase stability in the service.

TMOBILE has annouced the TP2 - release date should be in August. FYI - this is a GSM world phone and could be cracked to run on a US GSM network. The issue is you'll get no EDGE which would make browsing a real drag.
