@NYPDmos Same with my brother! He saw this when he was in grade-school and it influenced him so that he became a police officer. That's why I posted it. Thank you for your comment! I'll have to tell my bro.
have about 3 copies of the original record album that came out when the movie came out---poster of a motor, a color poster of "Officer Wintergreen' looking out over the high desert with some snow left...parts of the dialog of the movie are on the record---which TV Cop series (1980s) had the front of the album hung up on a wall? Who's wall?
@Humorgous I agree! Blake was robbed for the Oscar nominaion for this, but then, back then, he was too cool to care about crap like that anyway. My brother's a cop and he agrees, too - best damn cop movie ever made!
"Electra Glide In Blue was ahead of it's time. Yet contained the Moral Issues of its time. Amazing Panoramic Film-Work. Good Stunt-Work. Robert Blake at His Best."-Gene Ouimet(flour-power@live.ca)
@xHeadcleanerx Those of us old enough to remember this film are always up lifted by how the sun looked in movies gone by. What we actually remember is how the sun looked shot on 16mm cine film. Its a movie look that has gone now with digital film processing. It makes us old guys feel all warm and nostalgic. It looks great to us cos it reminds us of times gone by
@w423350 Who'r you callin' old ...?? LOL! No, you're absolutely right. Was watching "The Pom Pom Girls" from 1976 (okay, sue me - lol!) and noticed the same thing. The So. Cal. light doesn't fall the same anymore - not anywhere. Shame.
@poughkeepsiejohn1 LOL! I agree. Lots of great line - especially when the seargent's monologue address the line of officers. Blake in top form, maybe his best performance ever, even including "In Cold Blood." Thanks for taking the time to comment. I like your '"Film Countdown' btw.
This is one of the greatest movies I ever watched.

Saw this when I was 9-years old. That's when I decided I was going to be a motor cop. Which is what I did for many years as a career.

"nothing I hate more than having to ride that fat elephant under my ass!"
Robert Blake commenting on having to ride his Electra Glide. Classic!!
from the movie "Electra Glide In Blue"

This movie eclipsed any police movie ever made by Clint Eastwood. All of Eastwood's movies are phony and pretentious. Electra Glide was art.

@xHeadcleanerx You know, I have days like that: where I think, "This is like the sun used to shine in the '70's." Weird, huh ...?

so, did robert blake kill his wife with loneliness or a .357 magnum? oh, i forgot. he was found not guilty of killing his wife. just like o.j.
owg59 1 year ago
@owg59 Nobody killed her with a .357. His was a .38. The one that killed Bonnie Lee was a 9mm.
