People, no one gives a crap about how many KNEELING people you can jump over to do this! How many people, crouched over can you do this over? If you say you're that great, let's see it!
the yell is for 2 reasons. 1, in case you punch, and your opponemt counter-punches, the yell firms up the stomach, so it doesn't hurt as much. 2, helps to hit harder. I love Tae Kwon Do. I'm a lowly green belt.

dude i can jump 8 knelling people. i did it for 2nd degree testing and im 12. oh the yell is to seem tough. it is also crucial when fighting an opponent
The scream is a yell that is meant to focus breathing. It's also used when hit (if you've even been hit in the gut, you know breathing out hurts WAY less than breathing in when being hit). The scream can also throw a foe off their game, and a lot of other things. Its the same as the hiss sound you hear MMA fighters make when they strike, just louder o.o It serves the same purpose.
you guys are all retarded, it doesn't matter if youre a 1st dan or whatever you say, there's no "right way" to scream. it's a kiyap, but you don't have to pronounce it as written "key eye" or whatever your saying. Your stupid. Half of the black belts out there just go "HIIII". The scream makes it more intimidating too ;D nobody will be intimidated by "key eye". He screamed just fine, watch the awesome kick, don't criticize his voice. fricken retards.
The 'Kihap' is used to center your body and tighten your stomach muscles. When you Kihap, it does not come from the lungs, it comes from your diaphragm and stomach, expelling all the air and tightening your abs. It is used as a defense technique whilst attacking to reduce damage from a simultanious counter attack. A side effect is also its intimidating factor, few people understand its true benificial effects, but is worth practicing.
they yell to intimidate the oponent basicly say i am not afraid of you. kiai also mean something but i forgot lol haven't been at tae kwon do in 3 months
it's called a kiai. (said "key-eye") try it when you punch somebody. exhaling gives you more force, plus it's a bit of an intimidation factor (when you have somebody yelling at you when you're getting punched)
AWESOME kick...but one board? Come on, man. I know he was going for height but one board is nothing. Like I said, AWESOME technique, and I wish I could jump that high (almost there, hopefully get there eventually), there must not have been many other great breaks in that division for him to win it.
Crippies, this was exactly what I was supposed to do... well today! (march 31) I guess it didn,t work cuz the one that was holding my board was too far from the bent people...

I've done that twice for promotions. I did it over 5 kneeling people though. so they were lower but farther to jump over. Tae Kwon Do rocks.
holver95 3 years ago 2
Usually the people you jump over are kneeling not just bent over. The height is very impressive.
Fantastic job sir.

why does it matter what kinda damned scream you do, as long as you break the board, bone or opponent in general?
I mean, don't get me wrong, im in bjj, i dont know about screaming unless i get somethin broke. im just saying from my point of view

4th dan black belt

sorry you must be in a different Tae kwon do class than i do.
kcha14543 4 years ago
You should use more boards next time. You could easily do 3 or more with a RunJumpSidekick, as long as you had a good board holder.
