  • AGW is a SCAM!

  • Back on point, carbon credits and carbon taxes are bullshit. It's just the government's way of guilting us into giving them more money. They won't change or cool the Earth's climate one degree. What a crock.

Penn and Teller made a great analogy of religion and global warming, pointing out that carbon credits are the same as the sales of indulgences in the Medieval Catholic Church: "you wanna keep sinning, but lose the guilt? Well, just pay us some money and it will fix everything..." BULLSHIT!

  • @demoskunk As for your view about GW, I completely agree, except I compare it to evo claims, as their is a consensus that is the driving force in the claims of it's validity. but i will say you made a great point with the catholic Church as the selling of indulgences is not taught in the Bible. Well Catholics do draw severely extended inferences of Bible teachings.

  • @MayonR Well, I can't take credit for the sale of indulgences parallel. That goes to Penn and Teller :)

And I think Catholics aren't the only Christians who draw severely extended inferences of Bible teachings.

As far as the Theory of Evolution goes, there's TONS of evidence to support it. It is the basis for modern biology and genetics. In other words, it works.

However, scientists have not figured out how much we contribute to climate change. No one knows that, yet.

  • @pucksterz12 That's right. The planet will do what it wants. Fee it too much junk and it will destroy itself. Just like giving a person drugs continuously. They will want it and keep doing what they want until they die. Should we let this person die or should we get involved?

  • @inscrutable67 Why get rid of oil when the US "Empire" depends on it. The US is afraid of clean energy since we are behind and other countries (even third world countries) are way ahead in this race. Why keep running in a race when you are behind and you could just sit down and eat burgers, ice cream and have lots of soda...Probably that's why this country is viewed as an obese country. We do not like inconvenience and lack of power. Work out people and stop trashing the planet. It's not yours =P

  • @MayonR The Bible has been rewritten by mankind so many times just to keep up with the language and culture. What makes you think there hasn't been any change on what the Bible really means. I am Catholic, but I don't believe what books or men translating the cross have to always say. I listen to what makes sense. That's why I didn't belive the Judgment day was May 20th (if I didn't mess up on the date).

  • @MegaDarb69 [[What makes you think there hasn't been any change on what the Bible]] Sir Francis bacon thought the same thing. We now have the Dead Sea Scrolls which proved him wrong, done by textual criticism.[[That's why I didn't belive the Judgment day was May 20th]] Most non believers even know that this was not a Biblical estimation but an extended inference by Harold Camping. And as i have already noted, the Bible is known in the scholarly world for it's accuracy and historical record.

  • Coleman needs to not point out polar bears like how Al Gore did. How about all of the other species that have already died or been affected due to global warming? Many migrational species have already lost their migrational patterns due to this. Species of frogs and mushrooms have already died off. I've read numerous books and studied a lot about dying species due to dramatic change in temperature due to global warming. And to think these weren't books about global warming. IOW not a promo of it

  • Coleman hasn't answered the question about the growth in tsumani's and huricanes. All he did was give examples of some hurrucanes. Some examples does not prove anything aobut the growth of these events.

  • "While science makes the world great the government screws it up"

Theres your million dollar quote right there and the basic principle behind the many problems plaguing mankind today.

Why kill the electric car and continue suppressing renewable energy if global warming was a real threat??

  • This planet is going to do what it wants - with or without people. We're just in the way.

  • Everyone knows that Bush, Cheney and their Weather Manipulation Device (WMD) caused Katrina because of their hatred for black people.

  • @Protege385 Ummm... Duh! It was Kanye West that blew the whole thing open! He Wiki-Leaked all over that junk!

  • there are more polar bears because they were hunted to almost extinction. They are on the rebound.

  • Global Warming and Evolution. Two famous lies made by scientists and worshiped by today's morons.

  • @lavaxtris1 Easy now, Evolution and Man Made Global Warming are two different topics entirely.

  • @bad4ever2001 [[Easy now, Evolution and Man Made Global Warming are two different topics entirely.]] They are similar because they both claim there is a consensus across the board of respected scientists. Both actually have many and numerous respected scientists who have provided evidence against those topics.

  • @MayonR Even so, one topic postulates a theory on the origin of life and the other talks about weather patterns and its effect on the planet. The user I replied to claimed both were lies, I tried to weigh in on the fact that both were different topics notwithstanding that the former is a generally accepted theory with evidence and the other is a theory that is still being disputed.

  • @MayonR

Bullshit. Give me one scientist who has actually provided evidence against evolution that wasn't immediately refuted.

  • @RedSoxForObama It's actually the other way around. Were still waiting for some kind of proof. Even the greatest scientific philosopher, Karl Popper who happens to be an evolutionist said "I have come to the conclusion that Darwinism is not a testable scientific theory but a meta physical research program. A possible framework for a testable scientific theories"

  • @MayonR

I found this article on the Internet earlier. It's quite interesting:

    records.viu.ca/~johnstoi/essays/courtenay1 (dot htm)

  • @RedSoxForObama 1. Living organisms must come from living material.2. Diversity in living creatures. 3. Simple animals existed before complex. Although the 1st 2 points seem to support Creation, the last point simp[ly is not true. We have many examples of this. Many of today's creatures have fossils that are fully developed and resemble the same to the very smallest detail, with no change. It is just another article that states "it is true". As it is refuted, the theory simply evolves itself.

  • @MayonR

    1. No, not actually true. Living organisms can be created from acids.

    2. Small mutations over 3.8 billion years leads to great diversity.

    3. Are you talking about, for example, sharks (who haven't changed for millions of years)? Well, why not? Their structure has been advantageous to them for as long as they have existed. A famous example from a biologist on what would refute evolution; 'Fossil rabbits in the Cambrian'. We haven't found that.

  • @RedSoxForObama My friend, you gave me the article, so i thought you would agree with it. The 3 points I listed above were made in the article. I simply pointed out my analysis of it. If you disagreed with it, then I am confused to why you sent it to me. it seems that you did agree with it's 2nd point but you add the common assumptions. And that's why it's a religion more than a science. because it takes a great leap of faith to believe. Even more greater than it takes to believe the Bible.

  • @MayonR

In 1, I just wanted to point out what was wrong with the absolute 'living things must come from living material'.

    In 2, I do agree.

In 3, I was replying to your assumption that we have fossils of creatures exactly the same as today.

  • @RedSoxForObama I wouldn't try toput out of context what you said, so I understand. And I did get that he said it doesn't hurt the theory. To me it points out how it is more philosophical than a peer reviewed scientific paper. in fact he mentions alien seeding which to me leaves me wondering why a God is so hard to fathom but alien seeding is more believable. Especially since we have a Bible that is continually backed up by even legal experts who are unbelievers but will attest to it's accuracy.

  • @MayonR

    Its accuracy?

    Like what?

  • Comment removed

  • @MayonR What does the Bible have to do with global climate change, or any scientific debate for that matter? I am very skeptical of man made global warming, but I flat out don't believe that the Bible is the word of anybody but ignorant Bronze Age men in ancient Palestine.

Keep your religious nonsense out of the debate. You people just hurt the image of legitimate non-global warming believers.

  • @demoskunk Glad you aren't duped by GW. But the Bible is not by ignorant s since the Petateuech was written by a man who lived a life of royalty. In the NT it was written by physicians, or physicians, or by a civil servant, and in the courtyard Simon Peter were recognized by the higher class. Further it is written by 40 different authors,3 different continents and different time periods. So whatever the reasons I did bring up God were relevant. And I can attests it's relevance.

  • @MayonR Look, the Bible is a collection of older myths and stories that are meant to teach moral lessons. It is not a science textbook and was not written by any physicists because physics was not discovered yet. Men still thought the universe revolved around a flat Earth, and that dragons and unicorns were real. The Bible is full of fallicies about the natural world. People didn't know better, so they made stuff up.

  • @demoskunk [[Bible is a collection of older myths ]] Actually it's veracity is asserted even by secular historians and archeologists. In fact there is a study at Yale debunking that it is derived of myths or polytheism. It is a historical record. Also not many believed in flat earth as thought. Even Egyptians knew the Earth was round. Dragon is a metaphor for Satan. And the word unicorn is from the Bible and describes one horn. Even in original Webster it says unicorn is a rhino.

  • @MayonR There are some historically accurate accounts in the Bible, but there are many made-up stories, as well. For example, archaeologists find no evidence for a man name Moses or an exodus of Jews from Egypt, let alone a great flood. There aren't third party historical accounts for much of the events of the New Testament, either.

Also, the Bible is flat out wrong on scientific facts. Genesis describes creation in the wrong order! It says that bats are birds. Just Google Bible errors.

  • @demoskunk Well there is actually a very good argument for mosaic authorship and proposed authors have been debunked as well as the documentary hypothesis. Archeology has only dug up a small percentage so there is not a compelling argument to say Moses didn't write it. And flood has evidence in over 2,000 flood stories in varied cultures and phytoplankton chalk found in the highest altitudes. New testament has more extra biblical evidence than the Old. Jesus has more ev. than most historical fig

  • @demoskunk [[find no evidence for a man name Moses or an exodus of Jews from Egypt]] Actually before the discovery of the Merneptah Stele historians placed the Exodus much later. now they are forced to place it earlier. And archeologists have already expressed that it would be difficult to single out Hebrews with Egyptians in an intermingled culture. As for the New testament there are many outside sources such as Tacitus,Tertulian, Josephus, and many more.

  • @demoskunk [[ It says that bats are birds]] The bible simply used the classification system that was in place at the time. Classifications change all the time. We can only approximate classifications anyways even today. We can describe them by phyla or mammalian classification. Also the first thing that was created was light, so there was light available for plants to exist. Earlier you said that the source of phytoplankton is a lie. this is laughable since phytoplankton were from the sea.

  • @MayonR Wait, isn't the Bible the inerrant word of God? How could He get so much wrong? How did the existence of light precede the sources of light, such as, oh I don't know...the STARS?!

Modern man obviously knows far more about the universe than the authors of the Bible did.

And no, I said that the great flood being the cause of phytoplankton chalk on mountain tops is a lie. That is the result of plate tectonics, which prove that Earth is billions of years old.

  • @demoskunk Belief of Creation we can see the text says God is light, . So in the context of the Bible this is not an explicit contradiction at all but is reconciled. But to say how the changes supposed by the flood are caused billions of years ago is a metaphysical statement. That's why i spend more time presenting evidence that is empirical or observer. As you said about the plate tectonics the flood also states a global hydraulic event.

  • @MayonR No, what I meant about plate tectonics is they explain how ancient marine fossils are on mountain tops: NOT due to a worldwide flood, but due to the fact that shifting plates cause mountains to rise. They were originally part of the sea bed, get it?

youtube: How Archaeology in 1931 "Proved" Noah's Flood is a Myth.

This Bible story, and many others, are just myths.

And God is light...like he's photons?? So he's not even powerful enough to penetrate a thick piece of paper? Not impressive.

  • @demoskunk The tectonic event you describe is similar to the global hydraulic event describe by the those who postulate creation. God is light has many senses. He radiates light, he is light as in Wisdom to the world. To say that is all He is as you stated by saying he is photons is not what anyone would think of a maximally excellent being, so this part of the question answers itself.

  • @demoskunk [[There are some historically accurate accounts in the Bible, but there are many made-up stories, as well.]] Dr.Adam Zertal thought the same. So he looked for the altar of Joshua base on the mapping out of Deuteronomy 27:4. He was astonished to find it as described in the Bible. Since then this secular archeologist has started 11 churches in the area due to his conversion as a result of his discovery. Many more have been confirmed and ancient codices were even found last march.

  • @MayonR Yes, the Bible contains historical records of many ancient peoples and places. More discoveries that corroborate Biblical texts will be made by archaeologists. However, the existence of ancient ruins in Palestine, Israel, etc, does not point to supernatural forces at work any more than the existence of the Parthenon or the great pyramids.

People will try to connect scientific discoveries to the Bible, whatever. As long as we don't see the Bible as a science textbook, we'll be ok.

  • @demoskunk You state that the Bible has many accuracies . In the same stroke, you say the supernatural parts are conceptual. The Bible continually stands up to the many disciplines that scrutinize it. The only stumbling block seems to be the supernatural parts. An objective analysis would be to view the supernatural parts objectively also, not with naturalistic presuppositions. Fact is their are not plausible explanations for many of these events that stand up to the supernatural explanations.

  • @demoskunk [[the Bible is a collection of older myths]] in Yale a course actually debunks the claims that the Bible was derived of myths and debunks the claim it originated out of polytheistic religions. It is based on Yehezekl Kaufman's 30 year monumental study. It doesn't derive of myths mainly in that it does not fit a myth outline such as God having a birth, growth, and their is no hierarchy of gods. Also it was presented as a revelation of God, not as a myth that describes the seasons etc.

  • @demoskunk it emerged from how the comparison of the climate change consensus resembled the evolution consensus. And consensus does not equal a science. And it wasn't ignorant bronze age, Moses was a royal blood line as are many books. Even the new testament was written by educated and scholarly class. Sir William Ramsey called Luke a historian of the highest order. I am perfectly capable of discerning relevance thank you very much.

  • @MayonR 99% of the Bible is a poorly written fairy tale. A global flood, a man living in the belly of a fish without suffocating, a virgin birth: all nonsense. There is very little written about Jesus by contemporary historians, and Moses probably never existed. The Bible has ZERO scientific knowlege, but insane religious people try desperately to find evidence for Biblical accuracy by lying about the origin of phytoplankton chalk. It's really sad. You should stop deluding yourself.

  • @MayonR

    (revised post)

In 1, I just wanted to point out what was wrong with the absolute 'living things must come from living material'. He later says that this does no damage to very simple life forms coming out of inorganic material. It's that complex life forms (multicellular) don't.

  • most global warming believers want to do something good like the rest of us. the only trick now is to let them know that they are being lied to - because many of them think like a PEASANT. NONE of global warming believers really know how to think like a person in power. They are not even interested in what elites have up their sleeves because according to their "wisdom", they "can't relate to that".

  • The earth is just doing what it has been doing since the beginning of time and will keep on doing it with or without people. The earth doesn't need people, people need the earth. Humans have exploited the earth to the point of no return and hopefulyy it spell the end - for humans, but the earth will recover after we are gone continue in peace.... Deep down humans are selfish and don't give a crap about this awesome planet, only ways to destroy it in order to make it better for themselves.

  • @pucksterz12 So you wish for the end of humanity because humans use the earth's resources? Watch Avatar much?

  • This guy clearly doesn't know what he is talking about. A comic book version of climate. Who is this idiot ?

  • @ToothbrushMan you may not agree with him but he has been a meteiorologist for 40+ yrs.Id say his opinion has some value

  • @smithdsmit

It's just a shame that meteorology is not one of the subjects you would need when studying climate change. Those would be climatology, oceanography, glaciology, palaeontology, tree ring analysis, vulcanology, and so on.

Meteorology for climate change is too localised, too short term to be of any use.

  • News Flash: Over the past 2 weeks info on Dr. Phil Jones of East Anglia Univ, England, that the e-mails leaked on his BOGUS Global Warming and his CONFESSION that there is NO SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE in TEMPS since 1995 Are CONFIRMED ! He and Dr. ----- of India, also head of the U.N. G.W. gang have been CAUGHT LYING about the ENTIRE STUDY ! Jones has he's RESIGNED from his post and announced he's thinking of commiting SUICIDE to escape the EMBARRASEMENT & he can't find his claimed published paper

  • There it is folks, THE SUN is the SOURCE of ALL our heat, light, and life giving radiation in many forms. The SUN is the 1 thing the Global Warming crowd NEVER talks about cause it totally KILLS their PHONEY BOLONIE story. THERMAL DYNAMICS is the driving force that TOTALLY controls our weather. Without it, no heat to warm the surface, no evaporation, no photosynthesis for plants, etc, etc. CO2 is a necessary inert gas we need to support all life on earth, not the MAN MADE POISON they claim !

  • Right on. As an environmentalist and fossil hunter, I am astounded at how gullible people are on this earth. What Coleman is saying here is absolutely accurate. These Global Warming Moonies must have the deductive abilities of a chimp. Just the fact that temps have been falling for 11 YEARS, as the human population skyrockets, blows this whole GB warming theory out of the water. Now, if a REAL environmental problems occurs, no one will be listening. THANKS, Moonies.

  • Your comment is exactly what I try to reiterate to the greenies but they never listen... The tactics of the AGW alarmists have made it impossible to get real environmental problems to the forefront.

Like you said very accurately, now no one will be listening.

  • Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Only fools buy snake oil. The definition of an ice age is the presence of ice caps. Humans could kill themselves with weapons but the earth would remain. I will say that if you believe this hog wash you are ignorant.

  • "WHILE SCIENCE MAKES THE WORLD GREAT...GOVERVNMENTS SCREWS IT UP"

    Great Quote.. 7mins 47secs

  • I trust this guy over Al Gore any day of the week.

  • CO2 is plant food - water vapor is the leading green house gas. Greenland was named Greenland for a reason. Ice ages and warming periods - a basic review of history shows just what a ridiculous fraud AGW is. The medieval warm period was global not regional - ignore the government funded propaganda to the contrary.

  • Just to clarify my comments-I'm referring to cap and trade of course. Also the fraud is global warming. Trash is more of a threat.

  • I agree in the fact trash is at least a real problem

  • John you speak the unvarnished truth. Trying to control the wind, weather and temperature, you would have to be a Greek God. This is such a financial fraud on a cataclysmic scale, and this will affect our liberties. Mark my words- you have no idea the control and cost this will visit upon you. How can you believe this...the earth is thousands of years old and like he said it goes through stages of heat and ice. He said we are headed for an ice age!DUH I'm for a clean earth, not this fraud!

  • It is estimated that carbon dioxide is a minor

greenhouse gas, responsible for only 26 per cent of the total greenhouse effect. And only 25 per cent of that 26 can be attributed to humans, according to James Cook University Prof. Robert M. Carter. All models used at CRU are proven to be faulty. Only honest scientists such as Dr. John R. Christy and Dr. Spencer tell the truth about global warming using real data. Mann's hockey stick had also been discredited thanks to Lindzen.

  • wonder what colman has to say about HAARP...

  • @tawny624 The medieval warm period was regional, not global. And who labeled it "massive'? Other planets are irrelevant. Everything that affects climate is different on each and every planet. Can you guess which planet has the longest and most accurate temperature instrument record?

  • He sounds like walter cronkite and looks abit like him to.

  • John looks like he wants to tear Al Gore's head off.

  • Regardless if its true or not our fossil fuels are depleting and we must look for alternatives before it becomes to late.Unfortunately all the oil to last the human race the rest of our existence isn't hidden some where in Alaska

  • everyone knows that thats not the point the point is if burning theses fuels is going to destroy the earth and its not

  • yes. agreed but we dont need new global taxes because of carbon. I completely agree with what most tree huggers want but cant stand when they're unreasonable and take on an air of religiosity in defending their convictions.

have you ever heard of Earthships?

  • the rest of our existence? Anything we can do now will seem worthless to someone in 1000 years. Man stops c02 emmissions will be like to you man learns fire hot.

  • Dr. Coleman is a real scientist ya artard!

  • @terry2tone Where did Coleman earn his doctorate? Where is his cv?

He doesn't have a Phd and thus no cv. He got a 4yr degree in journalism. He's a reporter.

  • @tawny624 IF, and that's an awfully big if, you have the degrees you claim to, then you'll know who the *** clown really is. Here's a clue, check the mirror. Perhaps you'd care to cite some of your published research here? Meteorologist, eh? Hmmmm. Incidentally, there's a two-way feedback between CO2 and temperature as revealed in the historical ice core data. Has to do with which effect? You're like a juror in the OJ criminal trial. No mountain of evidence....

  • @drutter "Dude's a real scientist, which is nice to see." Gosh, thanks for vetting him for us. Except, he's only got a degree in journalism and is not a scientist. Shall we presume that the "political scientists" you speak of are those who disagree with Mr. Coleman? You're correct about one thing: the debate is over. This jack hole lost.

  • Dude's a real scientist, which is nice to see. So many "political scientists" out there these days.

He called it a year and a half ago. Bet he feels good now, with the debate finally over. Victory! :)

  • i hope that the debate is over! but not many people believe that... a lot of people still think that global warming is caused by humans and that we have to do something to stop it (and when i say something i mean pay carbon taxes) a few days ago i read in a paper wrote by a climate alarmist that "freedom will ruin us all" and that we should let govs put in laws...

well i hope that these views will die soon! i feel good too about this and i think that finally the fraud will be exposed!

  • Well said victoria. I've been thinking a lot about this, logically. While I'm convinced the panel of scientists was crooked, that doesn't mean global warming isn't (at least somewhat) man-made. Let me use an example.

A claim is made that apples cause one's spirit to enter another dimension for an hour after consumption. Debate is rampant. A group is caught falsifying data and trying to convince everyone the claim is false. Does that mean the claim is true?

That said, CNN covered this today!!!

  • Whoever said I was into taxing our way out of this. Listen, Im no fan of politicians or any of the narrow minded parties they belong to.

    We had a financial crash.

Taxpayers bailed out GM just when they had a golden opportunity to lead the world & change tack in energy policy.

They already had the cars - the ones they withdrew from California when Bush said all that Hydrogen cell crap.

    The HC never happened.

Want to make lots of money - go electric.

    Worked okay for Westinghouse

  • At the moment the sun is going through a quiet period. God help you sceptics when it wakes up and the sunspots start reappearing. Global warming a myth?

    Watch this space.

  • The question is whether Anthrprogenic GW is a myth. Obviously climate change does exist, but the claim that CO2 is driving temperature seems very doubtful to me. More importantly, the claim that instituting a co2 tax in the rich countries of the world will somehow stop this huge threat that is looming over us is just completely ridiculous even for a layman like me. Skepticism doesn't mean believing in the eternal status quo or something

  • 'To reduce carbon would mean killing huge numbers of people, for no reason at all said Maria 61042.'

    I quite agree.

So why dont we chop down every tree so all that extra CO2 gets released into the atmosphere and feeds all the dead trees that used to give us oxygen?

I suggest you retake your photosynthesis

    exam.

  • And you are a well respected meteorologist and co-founder of The Weather Channel? The folks at Accu-Weather also don't buy the man made global warming bunk being sold by environmentalists and folks with political impetus. The Faux news jab is hilarious....you're clearly brilliant.

  • Really ??? Google -- carboniferous climate -- and see that CO2 levels were way WAY HIGHER than today. NO SUVs hundreds of years ago.!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes indeed. Talk about being brainwashed when you claim that the biggest threat to mankind is people who disagree with your assesement of the given facts of climate change. It's really scary actually, we like to think that we are humans better than in the medieval ages but people like dozercon really falsify this.

  • im not sure what to to believe but I do remember in the 70;s when i was a kid. they talked about the coming of an ice age because at that point it seemed to be getting colder

  • excellent debunk of the sun and light buld analogy

Gore is a dim bulb himself, albeit a loud mouthed one

  • An intelligent man with truth! a rarity today the Gov will kill him off soon...

  • (iLuKaS2oo9Baby - don't worry about oil & gas running out. People managed without it a 000 yrs ago). Read Dr.Coleman's book: Conspiracy Hierarchy: TheCommitteeOf 300. The REALworld wil open up -what's realy hapening to our food, vaccines, health, education etc, the BANKERS/ the OLIGARCHY who run the world & u wil sudenly know all things around u. Then search your mind how on earth u can help the rest of us- work out how we can help each other 2 stop the incestuous evil Oligarchy.

  • I use to believe the picture of the Polar Bear stuck out on ice, but I thought it was a scam, I was correct.

  • hold On wat are we going to do when oil and gas run`s Out ?

  • its not going to run out.thats part of the myth.the pretend there isnt much of something & the price shoots up.the new world order of money counterfeiting banksters are behind global bs warming. the goal is a carbon tax for the tax cattle peasant-slaves

  • it won't run out, what they don't want you to know is that it is a renewable souce, the earth makes it.

  • Go to Ian R Crane's website, he's an ex oil executive and his former colleagues HAVE EARNT MORE MONEY WITH THE 'peak oil' CON THAN THEIR TOTAL EARNINGS FROM SALARY

  • So what if he is an oil executive. The fact reamins that global warming being man made is a proven lie! Stick to the fact kk.

  • one thing he did not mention about hurricanes is that according to the global warming theory, there should be less storms, because the formation of a hurricane requires a warm ocean, and a colder upper troposphere.

which the GW theory says there should be warming in the upper troposphere

  • You had better learn about HAARP! :)

  • arcticablue: " You had better learn about HAARP! :) "

    Pap.

The facility, when running, uses on-site diesel generators - just HOW much fuel do you suppose they have 'trucked in' to pull this feat off?

Nat even enough to keep things going for a few days operation ...

    .

    .

    .

  • I hadn't thought of this until now, but when the Asians walked across the Bering Straight to North America, it was supposed to be frozen over. What if it was not? What if it was warm?

There would be so much more life - vegetation, more animals thriving on the vegetation, etc. That would be a lot more enticing for a culture living on the Asian continent to migrate through.

So the question would be how did they get across? Well, sailing from island to island up the Aleutians? Plausible.

  • nope, they flew with the American Airline

  • They were nomadic people that migrated with animal herds, the agricultural revolution hasn't reached many people by then.

  • I always wondered why there were natives on Hawaii. How the hell did they get there? With their longboats? Give me a break! It is possible that the seafaring technologies of the natives on the east coast were more advanced than we realize. Perhaps they didn't migrate across a land bridge and instead sailed.

  • damn, i'm lame, i strongly believed in global warming, now i dont! they manipulate me so easily!!!! it's so sad :(

  • I don't believe in global warming either, but I caution you not to switch beliefs so easily. Go back and watch some pro-global warming videos. Only after you have gathered all available data on the subject should you make an opinion.

  • Oh, we are sick of them. You had better learn sthg about the CLUB OF ROME, only then you will have a F'ing clue about what's going on in the world, and

why so many political parasites are steering science and real science is being censored! hehe

    (I'm a real scientist)

  • "while science makes the world better

    government screws it up"

    totally agree on that one

  • why isnt the weather channel running this everynight everyweek ?Lots of people watch the channel so that would be a good way to get the truth out

  • Polar bears didn't start out in the arctic, they migrated there and evolved from other bears. A problem right now for many Innuit communities, is if the polar bears are put on the endangered species list, they can't hunt them and might actually get in trouble if they kill them when they get too close to their villages and towns. Their children need to be able to live without fear of predators. Innuit leaders have told the Canadian government that the polar bear population is as strong as ever

  • It's actually more plentiful than it has been in decades.

  • Polar bears you mean? So I've heard. Straight form the innuit themselves. These people are one of the few cultures left on earth that still live in some kind of balance with nature, I respect their opinions. Yes, the polar bears are more numerous than ever. If it becomes too difficult to make the trip back north with their cubs, they'll decide to stay on the mainland instead and adapt to the changes, as they always have.

  • Plus polar bears can swim up to 300 miles. They are the best land living swimmers on the planet. Just the fact that the image of a drowning polar bear has become the symbol for this cruel anthropogenic global warming hoax adds insult to injury. I feel like it just detracts from ACTUAL environmental issues that have slipped into the shadows since Gore's pseudo-scientific docu-fiction. Do you agree?

  • Totally agree. Al Gore whether he means well or not is way off. His doc doesn't fool me. If anything it ends up being an embarrasment for him. But you know .. Al Gore is in with the globalists. He's been to Davos so .. 300 miles for the p. bears... thats friggin amazing!

  • Yes, they choose an adorable animal for us to pity, try to shame us into accepting blame for climate change with garbage science and mass propoganda and see our children and peers turn on us for questioning the official story.

They've got a plan for the opposing theories on climate change, they'll say:

"if we "take action" (carbon tax, etc.) and it turns out we're wrong, then no problem, but if we do nothing and we're right, disaster!"

Sounds just like the whole "accept jesus or go to hell" scam

  • True. I can't believe that New Orleans depended on a 15 cm (half a foot) of concrete wall 4 m tall. (and it cost billions of dollars).

The private sector would have built a dam to the border with Mexico for the money.

  • it woulda been nice if the polar bear ate Al Gore

  • Comment removed

  • So, John, ice ages are caused by the sun? I suggest anyone who doesn't know go check that (its a change to Earths tilt and orbit and CO2 that cause it if you are too lazy to check)... Now if this moron doesn't know a simple fact like that what makes you think he knows better than the IPCC report?

  • As a matter of fact, it is. It has to do with the solar activity and clouds. In case you don't look this up:

Clouds are not solely caused by water vapor. Cosmic radiation interacts with the H2O, which forms clouds. When solar activity is high, the radiation from the sun reflects away most of the cosmic radiation, and causes a decrease in cloud cover, and therefore a higher temperature. Likewise, when there is less solar activity, more clouds, lower temp. Clouds reflect most external sunlight.

  • As a matter of fact NO IT ISN'T. Just because the great global warming swindle says it is doesn't mean its true. As proof go find a graph of cosmic rays over a multi decadal period you will see no trend up or down NO TREND - NO ATTRIBUTION BY COSMIC RAYS! Now you have been proved wrong I take it you will do the rational thing and get behind the greatest threat to life on Earth for at least 55 million years!

  • i460 . photobucket . com / albums / qq328 / Ninja_Autobot /solarvariabilityvCO2 . jpg (delete spaces).

Scanned directly from Harvard's Willie Soon's article "Variable solar irradiance as a plausible agent for multidecadal

variations in the Arctic-wide surface air temperature record of the past

130 years" from the Geophysical Research Letters (peer reviewed) in 2005. Shows a better correlation between sun activity than CO2. There's your proof, sir. I see you have provided none.

  • Oh, and add an h t t p : // to the beginning of the site.

  • Good grief. Do you have any idea at all who willie soon is? Where he gets his funding? The Enormous controversy a previous paper published along with Sallie Ballunus generated?

This graph can instantly be dismissed because HE HAS CHEATED. If that graph is of GLOBAL temperatures which it should be if he is trying to give solar variation as an explanation for the present temperature rises then he has simply lied about the shape of the graph! Now it is marked 'arctic wide' so this does not show

  • what you are claiming! But secondly the arctic is warming more than twice as fast as the rest of the planet so where the hell he has got this data from I do not know! The tempetaure for GLOBAL temperatures rises to the 40's drops slightly to the 70's then rises sharply to now. He is NASA:

    data.giss.nasa(dot)gov/gistemp/graphs/Fig.A2.lrg.gif

replace the (dot) with a . and remove any spaces

Now compare the two graphs... He has stopped his graph at around 1980 and stretched it. HE IS CHEATING!

  • But what is most damning of all is that you have attempted to win a tottaly different argument to the one you originally claimed was an explanation i.e. the temperature rise was due to a change in cosmic rays! This is to to with solar output and is independent of cosmic rays. Like I said you cannot find a graph with increase or decrease in cosmic rays because there has been none!

Now 'sir' are you going to abandon your delusions and become a caring nobel human being?

  • 1. I would prefer you stick to evidence, not ad hominem attacks on the scientists.

    2. The Arctic can be used as a general indicator of the rest of the globe, as can any other location in this context.

3.The GISS graph is legit. It is also beside the point.

    4. The graph stops at 2000, if you would care to know, that the temps are taken from Polyakov et al. (2003), and the CO2 levels from GISS.

    5. If you look at my first reply to you, solar activity and cosmic particles are linked.

  • 1) I don't care what you want you are VERY EVIL...

    2) A region is NOT the planet. The reason a region is used is because lies can be made about larger issues...

    3) The graph MOST CERTAINLY isn't legit - don't be so naive.

    4. I'm talking about the period 1975 - 2000!

5 Solar particles (actually cosmic rays) are NOT linked. Making such an assertion shows you know nothing of what you speak.

6 GET ME THAT EFFIN GRAPH YOU ARE BEING SO ARROGANT ABOUT!

And tell me about Sallie Baliunus...

  • Tell you what I'll do your lazy assed work for you go here:

    cr0.izmiran.rssi(dot)ru/clmx/main.htm

replace the (dot) with a .

Under the graph select 1975 as a start point and plot it... Now tell me is there a trend up or down? Then How the hell can it be affecting climate?

  • Coleman makes great points about Greenland and polar bears.

  • It always amazes me how those who point a finger at others have THREE fingers pointing back at themselves!

In fact it was YOU who was being racist! I still don't know WHAT RACE you are?? But YOU DO KNOW what race you are & YOU think that people of your race can't spell and thats why I was having a go at your spelling! WRONG!!

I was simply saying that important decisions like this about our Planet should be left to people who at least have a reasonable level of education!

    Have a good life now!

  • They knew they hadn't built them properly too.

  • "save the planet" can only have been thought of by a maniacal control freak hell bent on enslaving the human race. relax everybody. the planet will save you. you still have to deal with the maniacal control freak though.

  • am sory i wanned to give jou a plus but i pused the min button,..oeps....

So still a give you a dubble + oke

    You said it wright

  • ovi29... oh joy! Let's leave the fate of the Earth up to people like you who can't even spell!!

  • I am a meteorologist, and I am a AGW skeptic. I am, by default, a worshipper of data. Data quality is most important to me. And I trust satellite derived temperatures moreso than half-assed land surface stations that have decayed in standards in recent years (sorry NOAA/NCDC/NASA GISS)...but your data is trash in comparison with satellite data. And recent satellite data as of May 2008 shows COOLING!

We cannot have such hubris to have absolute faith in what we've been socially programmed.

  • I can't believe people will believe a stupid POLITIAN instead of a guy who actually knows a little something about weather

  • Funny!

  • Thats your problem!

If its a hoax, and raised awareness on recycling and our dependency on oil! then wheres the foul??? These are huge problems, JERK! And if you want to leave stupid comments"thank you mr coleman" Well, where are your loyalties! I can guess! Its not with me nor humanity! U dont look like much of a tough guy either! Ask yourself how long will we let idiots have a say in such serious matters? Keep it up in public! IDIOTA!

  • There is nothing wrong with recycling and pushing for cleaner fuels, etc. The foul starts when government force is used by others to control human behavior and control comercial industries. If you believe that politicians who speak about global warming have clear intentions then you are naive. As Ben Franklin said, if you trade your liberties for temporary safety, then you deserve neither. Excessive taxes spent on wasteful programs are an infrigement on your liberties as well.

  • why should energy cartels who make BILLIONS out of keeping us enslaved to their 'money' making MONOPOLY so we can't do anything without their 'energy' or their money... why should THEY have the right to DUMP their foul WASTE into the atmosphere that WE ALL have to breathe?? There SHOULD be a cost to that and then it would be a 'level' playing field so that clean energy can 'compete' in a fair way! That is how we can solve the financial crisis AND the energy pollution BS!

  • epublican scum! Its not hard to figure out whats going on with these comments, its a smear campaign! this guy received his degree in 1957 kicked out of TWC and has just been telling forecast ever since! He talks jibberish! World government? what? conspiracy? what? It seems to me the government wouldnt benefit from GW! moron! But most independent thinkers and broadcasters such as pbs are out to get us and what for again, john? 2cause a panic! Far scarier than cleaning up! Mislead me to my face

  • You are confused, the politicians created this bull crap, to get people, involved, and seems you follow blindly democrats like AL Gore, making heaps of millions out of this, the fact that John Coleman is Republican is not an issue, we are talking deeper than the nonsense from the newspapers, you should go to any meteorology site and retrieve data, such as the temperatures from last 1000 years to present, and see if the globe is actually warming.

  • Al Gore and his fellow employees followed the famous theory of hockey stick. Where is it now? . I tell u where, in the bin they where caught developing software to create their own data, every day there are less and less meteorologists following this hoax.

Scientists/Environmentalists are exaggerating in order to get more funding

It has not been proven the CO2 or Greenhouse emissions, doesn't increase the global temperature...

  • still waiting!!!!!

    HAHAHA..!!!!

  • the right and left wing thing is a fallacy please reasearch bilderberg

  • Maybe Al Gore and some of his fellow idiots

can take a ride with one of those Polar Bears

on that piece of ice if there that concerned

  • no doubt.. Seems like its all cookie cutter inflammation on humanity... just like the Knights of the Golden Circle in the American civil war

  • It was about time, the truth must be said, the global warming hoax.

    Thanks Mr Coleman....
