  • This anime is a murder-mystery/thriller.. Wiki it up and check out the plot. It sounds.. depressing. -.-"

  • *Reading through the comments*

Hmm What is this "trap" they're referring too? x)

    Trap = Creepy Anime? 0_O

  • @bydustin I remember there where some other top comments a month ago saying that this a thriller xD So, it's definitely a trap. :3

  • @bydustin nope unless you count a creepy anime as a pyschi horror one if so then yes it's majorly creepy

  • @shadowknight1990o Oh alrighty! I'll look into this! :D

*Few days later after watching* I'm... terrified....... T-T

  • @bydustin warned you it was a pyschi horror one

  • They are eating ice cream looks peaceful. Wait. It's a Trap

  • Isn't this show about two-faced psychopathic bitches who kill people at night?

  • @UndertakerU2ber No actually if you watch the whole series everything will make sense trust me! The plot itself is amazing, no other thrilling anime can match Higurashi in thousand years. If you can handle the blood and forget the violence, youll get the plot.

  • Anata wa ima

    Dokodera ni

    Moshite ima tsuka

    bno algo así empieza xD

  • What is this anime called?

  • @xXZeroPaladinToraXx Higurashi, is very violent, brutal and have gore. Like Elfen Lied. xD

  • this anime is seriously under rated, such an amazing plot

  • This anime is so confusing at first, but I love it so much T^T

  • next thing you know, you guys are going to say the ice-cream is a trap

  • @TsunaTunaDesu

Youtube user: Hey look, Ice Crea-

    Troll: IT'S A TRAP!!!!!!

  • song + picture = a romantic summers animation..

note; the trailer of elfen lied, stated that is was about romance.. i strongly suggest everyone to eh, watch either anime with the lights on ! ..

  • Has anyone seen the new OVAs? It's not a trap lol. It's perverted.

  • This picture with this music can be soooooooooo misleading.. Careful out there!

  • Rena: so you like the ice cream?

Kiechi: yea... its pretty good um... so your not still soar about me lieing to you right?

Rena: no.... not t all >:D

  • You know, even if that picture is a trap, its worth it.

By the end of the series, higurashi is up there with clannad in terms of getting that warm and fuzy feeling of a really effing good story

I have trouble handling series with lots of blood and gore, but I'm glad I forced myself to keep on watching Higurashi

  • IT'S A TRAP, BINO!

  • @ChopSuey022 sakospakspoaksaksapoooksapok é uma bilada cino

  • Higurashi really isn't THAT bad after a while. Well, it is, but you grow immune to it once you've figured everything out. I ended up falling in love with it and I watched it when I was nine *shot*. Really though, it goes further than "OMG I'MA KEEL U ALL!!!111." It delves deep into friendships and how the human mind is structured. I would stay up for hours on the phone with a friend, trying to figure out how things were possible and what could have happened for xxx to die at the hand of xx or yy

  • @PokemonLover6000

I watched it when I was about maybe 11 or 12 and I was never afraid of things such as Higurashi. And your right it is very complex and back then it wasnt that famous and seeing how much it grew and finding people who TRUELY appreicate it and TRY and STRIVE to find a deeper meaning and pour their heart into loving it is an amazing sight. Higurashi is one of the few animes that made me have so much emotion and tbh Im alot or was alot like Rena. So it has more meaning to me.

  • @AlectheGuru let me just tell you that it has alot of blood and killing but very interesting at the same time. Honestly i didnt finish the anime because of that. -.- you can try watching its a good anime. :)

  • This ANIME IS AWESOME !!!!!!

  • @Mat4ieopa Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

  • @Mat4ieopa it says in the description: Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni

  • o mi gosh, my friend showed me this anime and i thought it was cute at first but he didnt mention to me that it was a thriller. TT^TT.

  • @iPandaliciouz its a thriller? i didn't watch it but judging but the picture it donesn't seem like it, what is it about anyway?

  • @AlectheGuru It's a horror anime. Don't watch it unless you want to dream of getting your nails ripped off or getting you hands slammed between the door Or being beaten to death by a pipe. I seriously suggest u not to watch it. Well. it's about a boy named Keichi who moves to a small town. And hallucinating, paranoid, curses, virus, Syndromes. It's really brutal.

  • @QuiietLikeSnow Well the anime basically taught me this; Friendship is truly precious thing, always cherish it no matter what happens...

  • All I did was click on this from some other OST'S while i was listening to Dry Tears and the moment I heard this i loved it! <3 now im watching the anime lol kinda creepy but it's really interesting! But the pic is nothing like the anime XD

  • haha my friend told me about this anime and now that i see and hear this i laugh at you misguided people mwhahaha! XD imma watch this some time, if you have the stomach for it, i suggest you do the same

  • this song is what its meant to be you - yourself

  • THAT PICTURE IS A LIEEEEEE!!!!!!!! xD

  • "You know you've found a special piece of music when you realize you haven't been breathing for the last 3 minutes! (And this one is 3min 31sec.)"

  • Oh man, this man was just too much, but was oh so good. If you haven't seen this one, you really should.

  • I haven't seen the anime myself, but still consider this one of the most beautiful anime songs of all time.

  • @gunarmdyne i like the anime , but you should know that is very bloody :D

  • little did kiechi know that there was a needle in there!!!! :u

  • That looked like Mikuru and Itsuki from Haruhi the first time I looked at it....

  • That picture is such a trap.

  • I didn't watch many of the episodes of this anime, but i know that song, especialy the 0:12 part. Anyone have any suggestions as to where i might have heard it?

  • One of the selected song to be in Nico Nico Melody 2... truly a beautiful piece indeed I have to say.

0:12 starts the most recognized part!

  • You should include Umineko no naku koro ni songs like wingless and 生まれてきてくれてありがとう those will make anyone cry :'(

  • Some people watch de dubbed version and find it scary and all. While the original version with sub, they only read the subs and forget or miss out on parts of the anime. One of the reasons I learn Japanese, no more crappy dubs, no more subs.

  • @hfcgngf You are interpreting his comment wrong;

He says people who find this anime stupid because of the violence are morons.

Then he says the violence is not what makes this a good anime, but the story is.

And I totally agree, but on my ranking it cannot beat Clannad.

  • @NeoTomoyakun Ano Hana was good too

  • I know how to play this. 8D!

But..I never really understood the anime..o3o

  • sweet. they're eating sea salt ice cream!

  • 0:55

Best Part of this Whole Masterpiece x3

  • It's not everyday you see a peaceful scene like that in the anime..

  • 2 Poeple were killed by Mion :D

  • Most Enjoyable Anime ever. Clears your mind :P

  • @St3tox Cleared your? 'Till episode 48 mine was full of WTF. A very fun series to watch though, especially for the questions that kept getting raised.

  • I just realized that there was a version of this with lyrics but its called Dear You. Can someone please explain?

  • @MGX533 Dear you is something of a song series from the original doujin game. The lyrics and character singing depended on who you played when you beat the game.

  • @sivrel Thanks but I'm still clueless because I only found the song by accident on youtube

  • really disturbing yet epic anime...

and it all comes into pieces in kai

  • Funniest and happiest anime I've ever watched!

Thumbs up so this happy, family anime could get recognized!

  • Lol the thing that makes me feel wierd is that Mion is actually a nice person but on the outside shes "bad" but her sister is the complete opposite 0_0

  • if you dont like bloody messes (me) you should still watch this anime for the pure awesome this becomes

  • this anime is absolutly NOT for childreen !!

  • @Angedemonist I can aprove :O

  • Not the kind of music I'd expect from a sadistic, blood-fueled anime like this.

  • @NintendoCentralFan12 I think the lyrics of half the character songs play true to the series like the fact Rika sings in her evil voice (hehe) and Mion/Shions's duet ends in Shion unleashing her true personallity, i'm sure Dear You has some bigger meaning

  • Guh.... The nail ripping scene still gives me the creeps..

  • Higurashi is my favourite Anime and Manga of all times, although I gotta feel sorry for Rika poor lass.

  • This anime looks so cute apart from its descriptions! ^^ am a watch it! ^^ thansm immortal ^^ ur the best

  • Maebara Keichi. Breaking fate, kicking ass.

  • This song sounds SO familiar o.o

  • Hey, people ...

This song ISN'T from the anime ! It's from the visual novel, the original one ! It's thanks to that original visual Novel, written by Ryukishi07, if that anime was born.

Anyway, the song is just one of the most beautiful pieces ever composed. Magnifiscent emotion given during the reading of the novel, just a masterpiece.

The vocal version is great as well.

  • This song is so serene and beautiful. Why I never heard it before since I have watched all of these series long time ago.

  • ....i'll just. enjoy the song. :D.

  • At first look

-This anime looks so cute <3

    -Watch the real thing

-O.o *Can't sleep all night later* Xd

  • @LightenElf Tell me about it o_o I looked up some clips since I liked the song...hmm...interesting? -I'm not going to sleep...or school...for a while-

  • I acctualy found this anime to be very sad, very very sad. Get over the violance, blood is blood. What gets me every time is that these are a group of really good friends who are involved in a sick twisted game beyond their understanding.

  • Such a nice song...from such a disturbing anime...

Not for the faint of heart.

  • This hit something deep inside me, but I don´t know why

  • Oh what a nice song...What a nice picture.... -searched for the anime- WTF?!?!

  • @ezbleezy USO DA!!!!!! its more like stab stab stab stab........fap for a bit then back to stabbing

  • Sounds like a song from Nujabes

  • Really nice song.. Idk about the anime tho... :/

  • this music makes me think of Clannad lol

  • yeah, this anime is fucked up, but its wicked as hell.

  • @1nay238 Oh thank goodness, but why in the world they changed the anime one into a ultra-violent psychotic thriller =_= uuuuugh the death scenes in there is just HORRIFYING :(. But man this song sure is beautiful, if only wish the anime one would be like that, well its too late for that huh -_-

  • @xXTheHeroicGamerXx Yeah this song is beautiful, not too sure where this song would fit in the anime though ^_^

  • This is amazing! :D

  • I dread to think what Rena put in that ice lolly... XD

  • @Miss0oxo0Alice A NEEDLE!

  • Actually this song is from the game not the anime

  • hey, isn't this a vocaloid song? 'Dear You'

  • @Lilithxx13 Yes...and no. Some of the vocaloid characters do sing this song but it's from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. There's several vocal versions of the song, each one representing the different characters of the anime. =D

  • @Lilunheart ahh I see. But I found it in vocaloid first, mikuo's version. it's like my lullaby now. Do you have a slower instrumental of this? I need it for my lullaby :D

  • @Lilithxx13 I've tried looking for a slower instrumental of the song but couldn't find one. But I'm sure the other works of Dai would work if you like this one. You could try "Thank You for Being Born" (The slow ver.) a shot ^^"

  • Can any1 tell me who made this song gorgeous music.

  • yay im the 100,000th view.

  • Lol I barely got to the part when she starts smashing her fingernails... eww but hell yeah :D

  • i am in love with higurashi it really did change me this is so beautiful

  • this anime is just like elfin lied o.o

  • Best anime ever made.

    Best storyline.

    Best characters.

    Best fucking everything.

People who say it's violent and stupid are morons, the violence isn't what makes the anime the story is and how it unfolds after confusing you for so fucking long.

No anime ever made me think so hard as to wtf was going on and never took me on such a thrill ride, this ANIME is GOLD and PRICELESS

I've watched 83 anime so far and I'd have to put this in the top 5 of those, no joke.

  • @jarostone it starts explaining itself only after the last episode and beginning of 2nd season but yeah, a good anime regardless of gore

  • @Spappolator9 that's because the first season are the question arcs and the second season are the answer arcs. Even it takes a few episodes into the second season before you fully get the situation though XD and you learn more about the characters until the very end.

  • @jarostone This, Clannad, Kanon, Angel beats (I like key, what can I say). Those are my favorites.

  • @jarostone could you tell me your other top 4 animes? i think i like your way of doing categories/criteria :)

  • @TheTriforcekeeper My TOP 4

    1. Shuffle!

2.Higurashi no Naku Koro ni /kai

    3.Toradora!

    4.Black Rock Shooter

  • @jarostone Would you be able to tell me the other top 4.....

  • @jarostone I will admit for horror its one of the best animes I watched

  • @jarostone just a little correction. You are conterdicting yourself here. Or do you count yourself as a moron? just

that you say if you call the anime violent you're a moron and then you go on and say it is violent(tho you add thats what makes the story). but nvm mind me i just need to take out my OCD on someone

  • @jarostone You should read the novel it's way better the anime left out a lot of details

  • @jarostone I concur. This series hit me harder than the other hundred-odd series I've seen so far; this one goddamned _earned_ a happy ending, eventually. Since watching it, I tear up at the sound of that one breed of cicada, and now I use it as a morning alarm to remind me to get up and make the best of the day.

  • Despite the dark themes such as violence and death, the main plot has a lighter and much more positive theme of friendship and hope and I have to say the darker side of this anime only makes those positive themes all the more powerful XD

  • @NarutoAddict14 actually in one of the eps near the ending for the visual novels there was a really nice sad song so it it kinda best to read/watch the novels

  • i think i will just stick to the OST. After seeing some of the google photos on this anime there is no way in hell i'm watching it. To be honest I am weary of individuals who say they like this stuff as well. Fucking pics and clips made me puke in my mouth a little.

  • @ichibakudan It serves as a pretty brutal character development. I thought that it was pretty sick, but you end up really feeling for the character.

  • if u want more help about the anime u need and ipod or iphone to get the novel thing it helps alot well the first ep is free but that ep helps alot already but u get addicted and want the rest so just do that and then watch or compare it with the anime :) hope that helped for u curious people

  • If you only watch the first season of the show you'll never understand the story being told. For those that don't know the second season's name ends with "kai" and there is an OVA season that ends with "rei".

Reading the manga is the way to get the most out of the story though.

  • @101Swiftflick Or you can read the original Visual Novels.... Those would be the best

  • @NarutoAddict14 I haven't found those yet, do you know a good site for them?

  • @101Swiftflick Outside of Japan, you would have to find a torrent for them and an english patch. I can't remember if someone did a patch for it though.

  • @NarutoAddict14 I found a site that sells the complete English version of the game, with everything needed to run it, for about 24.99.

  • @101Swiftflick Or you can just torrent the entire thing for free and apply the english and ps2 graphics patches. Much better

  • What kind of TRICKERY is this? O_o aint no way that anime is that Cheerful <_<

  • This anime is unexpectedly good

  • FUCK THIS ANIME

  • keiichi, PLEASE MOVE YOUR RIGHT Knee!

  • i think blood plus is more bloody and gory. higurashi no naku koro ni is more like an investigating case anime. but both are great to watch

  • For any of you wanting to watch this, be warned of excessive violence. but once you do watch this, you will know the significance of this song (even though it's not in the anime).

  • Why some people think Higurashi is only about blood? o_e Don't judge a book for it's cover, it may have a lot of mind rapes but is a deep and beatiful story. Also it has a happy ending. If you like blood, watch it without thinking; if you enjoy thinking, then watch the whole thing and try to figure it out everything. 'cause this is like a detective novel. (or something)

  • I preferred highschool of the dead over this but that's just my opinion. I'm just telling so they can check out new stuff I guess.

  • @Niazuke HOTD is like an ecchi action anime and this is a psychological thriller anime , so they are different genres, hence incomparable

  • Well my friend introduced this to me he said" If you have balls of steel and a lust for blood and violence then your in for a treat " I was like HELL YEAH

  • Awkwardly it kinda looked like Keiichi's friends were like possessed or something. Like when they got kinda crazy their pupils become vertically slanted

  • This anime is kinda like warming up the same food over and over again but every time the taste changes.

It's an epic anime if you like getting mindfucked :P

  • @miukku111 have you seen umineko yet?

  • I also like this non-word version of the song to!:D

  • Ha ha it looks/sounds all cute and sweet and innocent but it's morbid, gory and scarring.

If you like that stuff, this is the anime for you!

  • Could someone give me like a summary of this anime lol... kinda interested

  • @xXD1MZXx F*** up stuff. If you like bloody scenes, murder and torcher scenes, then this anime is for you

  • @vgdude1 torture*

  • h ttp://lyricstranslate. com/en/you-dear-you.html here's the lyrics. Just remove the space between h and t and dot and c

  • Haha, don't let this peaceful tune fool ya.

This song might make it look all cute and stuff, and obviously its a nice song.

Just its uber violent, but if your into that, you are sure to have found a nice anime :D

  • the anime is cheery later on in season 2 :P

  • This anime looks nice. :) Should i watch it?

  • @randomn3ssx Yes, you should.

  • @randomn3ssx Yes, watch it, so long as your willing to watch frequent bloody, psychotic murder scenes, torture, and incredibly sadistic, disturbing plots.

Just warning you, this anime is an ultra-violent psychological thriller (a very good one, if you're into that sort of anime).

It's called "higurashi no naku koro ni".

    You've been warned.

  • @roktopus Could you tell me the plot?

  • @Theundying99 plot is basically put into sections or arc which revolves around one main Q: who and what is the oyashiro-sama curse which is basically a murder ritual of the supernatural but of course it all ends as some one of the human entity thus is basically a yandere- theme .....nice at first then horrible in the end oh and each main character has a tie to the curse and all of their back stories are tragic

  • @Theundying99 Alright, but I can't explain much without spoilers, so I'll say what I can.

Keiichi, the guy in the picture, moves to a small village from the big city and befriends a group of local girls there. He begins to adjust to his new home, and an annual festival for the village approaches. He learns, though, that every year for the past 3 years, someone has died on the night of the festival. Locals claim that it's the curse of their village god. Hang on I need a second post.

  • @Theundying99 He meets some people on that night who break into the shrine of the village god to take a look at it. The next day, these people are found dead. After that day, Keiichi notices things start getting weird. People are acting strangely, especially the group of girls he's been spending time with. Things keep getting stranger and more disturbing, and he gets more and more paranoid of the girls he's with.

Eventually, he comes to the conclusion; they're trying to kill him.

  • @roktopus jajajaj yes is true i saw it and is is super violent but is fantastic

i love it blood on everywhere

  • @roktopus I am watchin this anime now... I at the episode 7... I just can't stop watching...

  • @joboby54 I'm on 12. Anime is just pure awesome.

  • @joboby54 It really leaves you wanting to know just what is going on, eh?

  • @roktopus Yeah im on 19 now ! I just want to know what's next! I'm sayin to my self sometime... "Okay i'll watch this one after I'll go to bed"... when the episode end... "Oh screw the bed imma go watch the next one!"

  • @joboby54 Thats what I call dedicated! WATCH ALL THE EPISODES!!!!!
