This particular play wasn't even close though. His first step in his alleged "travel" is taken on the crossover. The ball doesn't even completely get all the way into his left hand on the step. THEN he takes the final two steps for the finish.

If you take a look at that team stats last year, and even the past couple of years, you will see that Duncan has been playing more of a supporting and leadership role than a franchise player. just take a deep look at his stats. The difference between san antonio and many other nba teams is that they seem to share reponsibilities as evenly as possible between their main players.

That's what a GREAT PLAYER does..duh!!! Everyone esle is made better becasue of him. My point is take Duncan off the team do the Spurs have any championships? NO!! Now take away Parker or Ginobli or anyone else for that matter, everyone else can be replaced. If Duncan does not play "D" when those other bums lead their players to him with their "matador" defense or flopping they lose games.

Anyway I don't know where you come from with this intrntl player prejudice and all this "I hate the Spurs have a lineup with International Players" what about Horry and Finley or Barry ...2 of my faves ever to play were Petrovic and Marciulionis because they didn't cheat to beat you they didn't need too, they just had more skill. It's a travel and a carry he took steps between the dribble and he carried the ball from one side to the other, turned it over in his right hand before shifting it to the left. Everyone does get away with it(SPURS FANS)but noone else does it so blatantly and is glorified (in being so quick noone can guard him) for it...he has used this move to win championships..THAT'S DISGRACEFUL! If I cheated when playing I'd be unstoppable too! Duncan is a crybaby but he's the only legit PLAYER on this team!

Traveling does happen a lot in the nba though...but I think it happens more in the posts and on pivoting moves that players do BEFORE they dribble.
But please, refrain from calling people "idiots" if you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Actually, refrain from calling people idiots even if you do.

If you START the step before picking up the ball, it counts as a step you took while dribbling.
This particular play wasn't even close though. His first step in his alleged "travel" is taken on the crossover. The ball doesn't even completely get all the way into his left hand on the step. THEN he takes the final two steps for the finish.

NBA sucks at calling travels but most fans suck at calling out the nba refs on stuff. That's because many people don't really know the nba rules.
He doesn't travel because the first step in the so-called 3 steps he took BEGAN (as in, parker pushed off of it) before he picked up the dribble with his left hand.
