  • The GTO = 10 points

    The girl = 10 points

    Both awesome beautiful!

  • Make a new Pontiac GTO based on this design. Please Members of the Board at GM - do it!

I love this car. The Americans love this car. So, what's the problem GM?

  • Actually, only the passenger seat reclined.

  • tanx for uploading this video i love gto

  • @jburdchevydude I do too but full disclosure I even loved the new ones they introd. I know they were a lot different than the classics but they were real performers.

  • Rare to see a GM car from this era with reclining bucket seats. I'd always thought the recliners were available for the first time on the '73 Grand Am.

  • wow, nancy is a huge dweeb. haha.

  • wow, that girl is a big dweeb. haha.

  • i iwshed i lived back then. i wonder if that exact pontiac gto is still around or if its all rusted.

  • Holy crap! He opened the door for a woman! Lol. You don't see that anymore and that's terrible that you don't.

  • Those look like "eight lug" wheels...I wonder if they were gonna put those on ,then backed out on release?

  • I like how his mic cord keeps getting in the way.

  • Thanks for posting! This is a great video, I thought I'd seen it all until this one. I'm attaching a vid of my own '66 GTO in action, as a "thanks" to mrpitv

  • this video is clearly old, as the car was new in it.... allot of things have changed since then, but the fact that the gto is still the top dawg, in a world of cars.... i just turn 18 and baught one after 6 years of drolling over the car to have as my first... and now i own one, and its crazy thinking of how much the car has been through, as of history

  • Good thing Nancy didn't catch that guy's microphone cord when she pulled away or we would have seen him bouncing along the tarmac!

  • Thanks for the info. I'm sure it was produced long before the product was shipped to the dealers.

  • One correction to my note, the grille lights appear larger than regular production, but they were there on production 66 GTOs, only smaller in size. Great video, thanks for posting it.

  • This is an early '66 GTO, note the non-production lights in the grille and the 8-lug wheels, which never made it onto production GTOs. The grille lights were only on Grand Prix, and the wheels were only offered for full-size Ponchos. This film was probably made by GM/Pontiac in the summer of '65.

  • I love how they used to speak to people with some integrity and told you import details of the car. That all changed after the higher epa mpg standards and the huge influx of import cars. And 50 years later they yell at people on commercials and say nothing specific about their car. They made a ton of money, but let the money blind them to necessary future changes in the market.

  • The Pontiac GTO is awesome! 50s, 60s and 70s were awesome! today sucks hard! hope GM don't completely get rid of Pontiac and I hope GM get back Oldsmobile and kill of Saturn. Most of all I hope GM, Ford and Chrysler too survives and becomes stronger and bigger than ever!
