I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

Beautyfull! For a long time I'm looking for info about a good combi of a car engine
and cycle carb's. Wich carb. are you using and how many cc is the Volvo/Renault engine?
I want to try a Kawasaki ZZR1100 carb. on my Fiat 127 1300cc engine. Greeting from the Netherlands.

Hi mate just wonderd what ignition system did u use for this was it from the 1.7 engine if so does it all fit i.e dizzy etc thinking of doing this conversion myself cheers

no the lifters are NOT shimmed, they are hydraulic sir. It appears to be (sounds like) an F7P 1800cc clio/19 engine. Could possibly be a F7R 2000cc out the williams

generally if hydraulic ones tick theyre not working properly or a performance cam is fitted but not usually with hydraulic lifters.

thats not a volvo engine, its a renault clio 16v / williams lump on bike carbs soudns sweeeeeeeeeet as a nut!!

@adambischoff thats because Most volvos had a Renault engine we had a Volvo 440 2.0 SE with a Renault B20F engine in it
