It didn't end up on the record because this was originally a song by Dave Lepard (The original singer and founder) and they wanted to respect Dave's work and not make money off his work. It may be on they Japanese version because they usually get a bonus or two., but they probably just re-recorded it with Simon so people could hear it.
@ReblDoomer20 how do you know it's a song that was written by Dave originally? Is there any demo with him on vocals or just the instrumental part? I'd love to hear it/know how it's called if that's the case. Thanks :) x
@Metalyce Yes there is a Demo. Dave recorded a ton of Demo's before his death. I have all of them on my Ipod. I also have all the Demo's (or most of them) that Martin did after Dave's death. The title Dave recorded is still the same (One Of A Kind) and yes he is singng on it and there are instuments in it. I've been a fan of Crashdiet since around 2008/2009. Have you ever heard songs called Victory? Miss Pain? Tomorrow? Lost Horizons? Those are also recorded by Dave before his death. Search em.
@ReblDoomer20 Yes, I have all those demos actually (I have 60+ demos) that's why I was a little bit surprised because the only versions of One Of a Kind I have ever heard either have Simon or Peter on vocals, and I also have an instrumental one with nobody on vocals. If I give you my e-mail adress, do you mind sending me the one with Dave on vocals? Do you have the songs Tracy and diamonds in the rough? Those I have searched but never found...
Happy that this band still keeps kicking ass after Daves death :)!
