People on here don't seem to read. They don't read that I said ALL WEAPONS FLEX. But extreme flex sucks for accuracy. If a car has excessive body roll it will not handle well. So to say a weapon that flexes a lot is only cosmetic is a JOKE! Too much flex and no accuracy. If you want to spray a target from 15 feet away then have fun. But anything over 100 meters and it's almost worthless.. If you like crappy made guns then buy them. People here only like guns that look cool. Not quality.

@DOHC66 and the aks and sks's were designed with loose tolernces on purpose easy to use, can take in dirt and water and still fire as the debris will be blasted out the rifle, easy to clean,less moving parts=less things to go wrong oh and theyre gas systems dont blow hot carbon on the bolt face causing malfunctions after only a few hundred rounds cant say that about the ar even though its fine for say... paper punching but as a combat arm? i dont think so

@varmintmurderer420 Ive run 500+ rounds through my AR. No jams. It was crappy Wolf ammo too. Dirty as dirty gets. No jam. But my AR is not a $400 rifle made from crappy parts and shoddy tolerances. My M-16 I had in the Army never jammed, even when it had dirt in it. Cheap made guns are cheap made guns. No matter what they are modeled after. Your friends either need to buy a quality AR or clean the one they have after a day of firing it.

@varmintmurderer420 I already talked about the tolerances. You are repeating what I already said. And guess what? In 74 the Russians went to the AK 74 and the 5.45X39.5mm. That's right! It is a smaller round than the M-16! So the punch you talk about is null and void. The tumble effect the 5.56 and 5.54 tears up a person more than the larger 7.62 round. The Afghans hated it because of the horrible wounds it created.

@varmintmurderer420 I don't have a problem with consumer grade Eastern European arms. But they are of low quality in my opinion. Their military issue grade stuff is better. But these are guns made to sell to us as toys and are not really made that well. And I agree in Iraq, the M-16 system weapons have issues if you don't keep them clean. The silty sand is bad, even on the AK's even if not as bad.

@varmintmurderer420 And there are more 47's than 74's but that is because you don't need a license to copy and make it so several countries make and sell them. The standard Russian issue is the 74. And yes, they are trying to get a replacement for the M-16 systems, I think it will be an HK design which is definitly better than the M-16 design although very similar. They basically just fixed all the problems that should have been fixed a long time ago.

@varmintmurderer420 And I don't think the AR/M-16 is perfect. In fact far from it. That is kind of why I was comparing it to this VZ 58. If the AR/M-16 receiver can fire without flopping around and no barrel drop, the VZ 58 if built better could too. The receiver and barrel really have nothing to do with reliability in dirt, the loose bolt and gas exhaust placement does. The bolt is what jams up the rifle not the upper and lower receiver mating and barrel head spacing.

@DOHC66 yeah i see what your sayin HK is a good gun too theyre delayed roller block action is pretty damn good i know some guys that used h&k g3's in el salvador and had no problems with it but the VZ 58 is one of my least fav.of the AK knock offs its ugly as hell even though its built like a tank but its only suited for full auto (like an AK) thats why i bought an SKS because it was built as a rifle not a machine gun so its a little more accurate but at least you can hunt with it
