actually, I tried the druid class once, but I wanted to be a more martial character, so I chose ranger cause It'd help with my bow skills and I get at least some druid spells. I do like the druid spell list however

Theives are cooler than rangers IMO because they have much better non-combat skills and a 100% backstab (at least in 2nd edition anyway...) plus they can read scrolls, eventually.

yeah, I'm talking about 3.5, I find 2nd way too complex for me, (I'm only 14) and I might try it sometime in the future, but not now, and I'm more of a lawful or good person.

We use 2 because our DM grew up with 2 and finds the change in calculating thac0 and armor class awkward (2nd edition, both go down, 3.5, both go up) among other minor changes.

BTW, i'm 15, it's just a couple differences in numbers, the player's handbook is damn useful.
