If Denman is going to win the Gold Cup today then he has to perform to a higher standard than this. Niche Market was well beaten the other day and should not have been a length away when Denman made his first mistake. I am tempted to go each way with the Trickster though I realise the Grand National is the main target for him.
I backed Tricky Trickster each way at 12/1 here but as there were only seven runners the horse needed to be in the first two.
I like your comment about Ruby only getting to work after Denman fell cos I am convinced that instructions were just to get Trickster round unless Denman fell.
In short , what I am saying is, that connections were happy for Trickster to finish third here so long as Denman won. Thats why Ruby had to ride like the clappers cos he had left the horse a lot to do.
Go on Tricky ha was kickin meself tho 4 not puttin him in a double with War Of Attrition who also won 4 me that weekend bastard but I guess I like many people thought that Denman was gonna win this race so thats why I didn't but still go on Tricky!!!
I backed Tricky Trickster here but Walsh only tried to win the race once Denman fell. In short if Denman had stood up Trickster would have finished third in preparation for the Grand National.
even if A.P didnt ''jump off'' denman im still not entirely convinced he would have won it round the last turn he was 5-6 lengths clear and niche market was closing on him and tricky trickster the winner was an out and out stayer and ruby walsh is the better jockey so Kauto Star at 4/7 is the best bet of the festival. 2nd best bet is Khyber Kim in the Champion Hurdle i put a score on him at 12/1 id advise you all to do the exact same :)
Of course it wasnt the "horses fault"!! Hes a wonderful horse and it was just unfortunate the way it worked out. Thank god he was OK and well done to Niche Market who put in a wonderful race. Hope AP & Den get to know each other a bit better before 19 March - though being a Kauto fan, I dont want to see him lose . But more importantly I just want them all to be going home safely afterwards.
Denman got 4 lengths up and you would have expected (at 1/60 in running) for him to continue to dominate from there. Race over. However, when Denman makes his mistake Niche Market had made up the deficit and although pushed along, didnt exactly look hard ridden in doing so. I can't see this horse winning in March.
Denman would've probably won this race without the first mistake. He takes all the momentum out of himself by not getting a clean jump and its hard to ask a horse to from 0-100 straight away and the horse was obviously well shaken when unseating McCoy as he put in another bad jump. McCoy is doing everything he can to get him back into it and by trying to hang on. Blaming him for this is absolutely ridiculous
go on tricky trickster had a punt got lucky with mccoy falling got him at 12-1.he had a lot in the tank in the end i bet if denman was in poll position and tricky was in striking distance ruby would of held him back to let denman shorten in prices for gold cup albiet denman was travelling well
I feel that Kauto Star will win his third Cheltenham Gold Cup but I will not rule out Denman. Kauto himself has his fair share of mistakes in the past so it's anybody's Gold Cup on Friday 19th March.
Willum1986 - mong comment, why would any jockey put any horse in danger a side the fact it's Denman!!!

Despite unseating McCoy, I still believe Denman has a huge chance in the Gold Cup, but he'll probably be ruled out of the Grand National again.

denman was obviously a huge disappointment here but i think niche market ran a very nice race. looks an ideal national horse.
