  • My apologies, please find the Zelma's story on revver. Thanks.

  • I just tried that web address; it returned a "404" error; i.e. page not found.

YouTube won't allow me to paste web addresses in comments boxes, but I typed exactly the web address at the end of this video.

... wait, I'll try the US spelling of "centre" ... brb ..

    no, that didn't work either.

  • Correct me but, does anglo indian basically mean mixed white and indians. Thanks

  • Hi Nigel,

I have just stumbled across your postings on youtube, and your aims sound very admirable. I am in the UK and researching for my dissertation next year which is going to be bases around Anglo-Indian families in Calcutta.

Obviously you say your website won't be ready until next year but I was not sure how to access the other videos on revver??

Also, wondered whether the Anglo-Indian monument, you discussed in another video, went ahead?

    Thanks

  • Good hear from you. The monument project is still at the development stage. At the moment I am compiling a history for an exhibition, this is uncovering many new ways to express what is an A-I. The deeper the research the more difficult it becomes to clear the myths surrounding the A-I community. Send me an email address so we may discuss this in more detail, if you wish. Regards and thanks, Nigel

  • So i had a question..are anglo-indians the descendants of the whores/mistresses of british generals in india?

  • Thanks for the question, I expect that there are some. As with any community there is a cross over. The result is often a success, the best qualities from each parent are at the forefront. The AI community are the best example with the stats to prove it. Thanks, I hope to discuss this further.

  • @bmw335i88 Not necessarily. A lot of British men married Indian women and vice versa in England

  • I have some half cousins with the surname "Philips" who live in Perth. Chris & Calvin Philips...must see them one day. Thanks for the video Nigel.

  • I couldn't access the webpage.

  • Hi, we are currently up grading the site for next year. If you have any questions, please use this comments page and I will answer.

    Regards, Nigel

  • Could Zelma Phillips be a relative of mine. My great-grandfather was an Anglo-Indian by the name of John Phillips born in India in 1839. His father was called Thomas Phillips. All I know is that they emigrated to Jamaica when John was a young boy and that he had 3 sisters.
