How to maintain curly synthetic hair.

you dont need to put oil on synthetic hair. it doesnt absorb oil because it doesnt have cuticals. all putting oil on syn. hair will do is sit on the "shaft" and transfer onto clothes and furniture.

Thanks 4 the info. I just use products I have around & see what worked. I use oil sheen that's made 4 syn hair & not enough to transfer at least not that I noticed.

It worked out very well for me and only had problems when I was on the beach. I don't keep my sew ins in for more than 4 weeks, but that's because I do my on hair and like to change up my style often. I don't reccomend syn hair for much longer than that, that's just my personal preference.

I thought you are not supposed to be using other hair products that are not for wigs. And for synthetic wigs do I have to use a brush or comb that is for wigs?

I'm not sure where u got that info but I've never heard of it. If u read the indgredients for products labeled wigs they are the same as the ones that aren't. There are things u can't use on syn hair but u can google that to find out what they. But other than that u can use whatever works for u.

I bought the rollers a couple years back from Big Lotz. I've also seen them on ebay. Any hot rollers will work on syn hair because they get hot but not enough to fry hair. They r also coated so its not direct contact with hot metal plates. I use the light pink lotion but because syn hair is a fiber and not hair it doesn't seem to matter much and its what I had in the house @ the time. The same goes for the rest of the products the brands don't really make much diffrence. hth thnx

Sorry for the late reply, but just in case someone else wants 2 know... yes I have had syn deep wave and it can get wet. the best thing to do is twist or braid (depending on which curl pattern you have) the loose end so that it doesn't tangle that much and u should be fine. hth.

Great Job!! What type of hair did you have sewn in in the back? I've been wanting to get a curly synthetic sew in (times is rough girl LOL) but have been so afraid of tangling and matting! Your method looks great. Lastly, would you advise using flexirods if you couldnt get hot rollers?

True. Well i guess since its a fairly new company. My girlfriend said she orders right from there website. I looked and on it you can also see the locations where those products are sold . Hey i dont know if you have ever seen Weave aide products but check it out. there actually the best ones ive seen yet for synthetic wigs/ weaves and human hair girl !! Its becoming a huge hit here in the city. My female friends love there detangler and polishers , and the Packaging is really cute and pink. ;} I use there pomade because unlike gels it doesnt flake or dry out my hair
