There is much speculation on how it was leaked, but after all is said, this meeting did take place.

I think the story that you refer to has the Clinton staff leaking the memo to CTV in Canada. This may be the case and we may never know for sure. The Canadian Embassy in Washington employs hundreds of American and Canadian citizens and it is possible that someone wanting Ms. Clinton to win leaked it to embarrass the Obama team.

Hello John135246; Respectfully John, what mistake did Canada make. The Canadian embassy in Washington DC that leaked the minutes of the meeting to Canadian television did make a mistake by not keeping the memo more secure.

But Mr. Obama does not represent the gov't of the United States and he is not covered by diplomatic privilege. The only real mistake here is when Mr. Obama denied the meeting tool place. Please remember the memo was only leaked after Mr. Obama denied the meeting took place.

Very true, but McCain praised Hagee. Other candidates who have received questionable endorsements have distanced themselves from the person who endorsed them. For instance, Barack Obama denounced Louis Fahrakan (didn't spell that right) after he endorsed Obama.

That would be a great world if it worked like that, but the truth is that the religious conservative base has taken too much power over the party and its ideology. No longer can a republican win without them. We've taught them that it's okay for them to want to make bullshit decisions like stopping stem cell or trying to amend the constitution to stop gays from marrying.
