  • It was actually Mt. Snow in Vermont where she was bitten. I was thinking New Hampshire because we had just gone to Mt Washington, and all the cool things around that area (The Flume, Kangamangus HWY) Really nice trip.

    Thanks for saying hi!

  • Hi Doc! Your kits are awesome, and I had built mine on your recommendations, I love the videos that include everyone because it really promotes that cool things are done in concert with loved ones.

My wife was bitten by Black Flies while in New Hampshire @ the Mountain Bike races and it crushed her. Nothing to fool with.

    Best to you and family.

    OCTOS....................out

  • @octos2000 - thanks! Always good to see you weigh in on the comments. Where in New Hampshire? I love the White Mountains!

  • Thanks for your reply sir! Appreciate the positive reinforcement. You're really inspired me with all of your medical videos. Continued success to you!!!

  • @dkrotine65 - Thank you!

  • my mom and dad went up to the up last summer, (geocaching) and mom got bit really bad by those flies on the head, the bites swelled up pretty bad, the doctor said a lot of people have bad reactions to them, also, was that a groundspeak sticker on your daughters arm? if so, awesome!!

  • @SleepyFox79 - that was a Groundspeak tattoo on my daughter's arm . . . and yes we are doing some Geocahing in the area . . . stay tuned for our Geocache adventure!

  • By the way, the bug bites here are something to be taken seriously . . . the only one not being bitten is Matt . . . good change of events for him because he is usually a bug magnet.

  • She had a very bad reaction, lol. Those annoying bugs just make the bites bleed for me, but not swelling. Having some first aid equipment with you always comes in handy.

  • Have urine will pee! Or apple cider vinegar soaked cotton.

  • hey doc, its been a long time and i havnt forgot about you. i sent you a PM a few minutes ago and wasnt sure if you could get them or not. if not let me know because i have a story and a half for you. your friend anthony.

  • If I could just figure out how to get the good Doctor to travel with us!

  • @AppalachianFreedom - some day I will need to pay you a visit!

  • @USNERDOC -- We would be honored!

  • Well, you can't be anywhere near the Lower Mainland (Vancouver & surrounding cities), because I haven't been bitten yet. With the cooler & wetter than usual weather, it's somehow had an effect on the skeeter population. So, don't feel like your not welcome. Just come out to South Surrey, and have a glass of ice tea with me. Minus the bugs!

  • @sabr686 - I think Kelsey would love to avoid the bugs!

  • I hate bugz.

  • I have the EDC and the Scout Deluxe. GREAT products. I need to order an IFAK. Thanks for making a great product!

  • Not to be pervy or anything, but she's cute.

  • owww, hope the swelling goes down quickly. Reminded me of Kelsey's trip to get her multitool. Travelling can be risky. Hope you guys have a great remainder of your trip!

  • Hey, your in front of the Prince of Whales, and it's the law to wear your seat belt in Canada :), even when in a National Park.

  • LOL.. good stuff Doc! You all definitely have some awesome summer travels under your belt. Good thing we don't have them Canadian bugs down here in AZ!! Safe travels

  • @hinckleypoland - good travels for sure . . . still looking forward to another Arizona trip!

  • Good thing you had that with you.

    Schmoo

  • Streuth Doc, that is a reaction and a half!

Lucky you had a the kit on board.

    Speedy recovery Kelsey.

All the best from across the pond.

    Hope your daughter recovers....

  • i got stung by five yellow jackets yesterday...2ankle, 2 calf, 1 shoulder....i had to run...i put some chew tobacco on it...

  • Dang bug bites! I will totally leave the BigFoot in Canada jokes alone, although I know Kels has a good sense of humor. Take care DOC and family! -Hawk

  • @HawkLMT - she does indeed have a good sense of humor and she is a very good sport to put up with her Dad ;-)

  • sorry to hear, hope the trip was fun

  • Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent! GOOD STUFF!

  • eh

  • @flabazoid - love that Canadian accent ;-)

  • Welcome, from Vancouver. We're always happy to have you.

  • @skroonk - thank you!

  • Curious about the choice of Stingease over The Mitigator. I have several remedies in my kit and just bought the Mitigator thanks to your videos Doc. Would Benadryl or Ibuprofen be indicated then for her swelling? Just want to make sure if I'm called into service I'm doing the right thing.

  • @dkrotine65 - we did use benadryl spray later in the day, as well as, a soak in an ice cold stream and ibuprofen. I grabbed the Sting-Eze (lidocaine) wipes quickly to help stop the itching. Your thoughts are spot on!

  • Hello Canadians! :)

  • @Tacticalgearhead - back at you sir!

  • awsome!

  • Saw you checking for pedal pulse there DOC : )

    Get well Kels

  • The stingies reduce the irritation? Can anything be done to reduce the swelling?

  • welcome to Canada. Biger bites in the northern part of province of Québec. Out here wee dont have moose or deer crossing sign, we warn the driver with mosquitos crossing sign.

Hope you enjoy your trip in our country.
