  • It is really beautiful.

    This is a Japanese judo.

but, The judo in the current Olympics is a wrestling.

  • for me the best judoka ever!

  • What is this song? I would like to download...

  • What's the song's name?

  • spectacular judo. pity there is little or no control after the throw. that would be super.

  • @olekike in judo, if u throw someone and they land on their back, the match is over. It's called ippon

  • @ryan262008 ??? what is your point? never the less. judo is also about control. taking someone out. what if the thrower misjudges the situation, gets a wazari and the opponent takes over.....i think nice judo is throwing someone on the back and nice judo is having control after the throw, going further with the ground battle.

  • @olekike thats when newaza comes into play. still you can't deny that Koga is one of the best ever in Judo. quit being a what if geek.

  • this guy is like the tony jaa of judo

  • You mean Bruce Lee of judo.

  • Super

  • i thing judo is the best grappling martial art, then if u combine it with moitai, i dont know if i spelled it right, u would own pretty bad :)

  • lol Coffee can! You and me both

  • Koga is THE Legend

  • pero aun siii

  • Yo tambien daria todo por ser uno de sus dicipulos.....

  • I as well would give it all to be one of his disciples

  • Koga simplemente THE BEST FOREVER...........

  • ippawned!

  • I have studied and been a Martial art lover since I was a child and I truely believe Judo to be the best and most effective of all in a real life situation.

    Awsome video

  • i believe judo is very focused on takedowns

but only if you master newaza(ground fighting) then i agree with you that judo very effective in real life situation

  • Dude...I take it, you've never been in "real life situations"

In real life, if you throw, punch of kick someone, you want them to stay down or not want to get up.

If you take someone down, the get them in a "hold" or "lock" or try to submit them, all that will happen is the guys friend will be kicking you in the face or stomping on your head.

The ring and the street are worlds apart.

  • I agree, hold downs are relatively useless in groups. But the throws are very very useful in a fight.

  • yea, i never thought about that. i think you are right

yes, i've never been in a street fight before and i hope i'll never have to be. have you?

but then, the best martial art for street defense would be krav maga wouldnt it?

  • Hi buddy...

Krav manga is an Israel special forces fighting system, which means is a hybrid of many styles, bits of Judo,Karate, boxing, self defence etc, also made fasionable by Angelia Jolie in Tomb Raider.

I would reconmend find something pure (Like Judo or Kyokushin Karate) and become good at it, then in a few years, train something else and become good at that, then, in the street, you will use what works for you....lets just hope it doesnt get to that point though.

  • How many fighters have ever been in real life situations??? I tell you this Koga is throwing him on his back on purpose if he wanted to he can dump you on your head and break your neck.

  • I've been in a few fights and i tell you if you're not wearing a gi, it's freestyle wrestling. You take him down with disregard for technique or keeping great posture. You take him down with a double, hip toss with or without the sweep, or a shoulder throw. Then ground and pound.

  • Yeah, I agree...

Once you got the techniques built in as instinct, then you cut out the bits that dont wort for you and use what does or adapt it to suit the situation.

Wrestling and boxing are perfect eg's.

But for me it has always been Judo and Kyoukushin Karate....

  • Very nice combination of disciplines

  • OSU! Kosen Judo Judo Kodokan and kyokushin kai karate!

  • ima judoka and in freestyle wrestlin in highschool team i destroy everbody

  • Thats the way to go.

  • yeh he said freestyle is better then judo but i beat all the freestylers by judo moves

  • freestylers? we crash them with Judo!

  • @giga927 who??

  • @giga927 True... I used to do Judo but now I do MMA. Whenever they shoot in for a leg takedown I just keep my centre of gravity as low as possible, get an underhook, yank my legs out of their grasp then I can do Harai Goshi or Ko Uchi Makikomi and many many more. It took me a little while to get used to not wearing a gi but now I've got it sussed... So anyone who says "Judo is useless coz it relies too much on the gi" doesn't know what they're talking about :)

  • @83uoykcuf There is a famous judo kata done in armour and no gi. It is rarely performed and I have never seen it but I suspect that the knowledge of this kata died out in the 1960's.

  • Yep, that was the original way of throwing the opponent when Judo was devloped, the idea was to throw them of their neck and head, only when it was made into an olympic sport, the techniques changed to minimise injuries, they are still removing dangerous techniques now...

  • That is plain wrong.

The judo-techniques were never ment to do direct harm and be a tool of violence. Kano handpicked the techniques, from a series of Jiu Jitsu-schools, that were dynamic and that could be assosiated with judo as a "Dou", thus Judo has always been the "Gentle Way".

What you describe are mere actions of violence, something which defies the "judo spirit". It is true that some variations of the original kodokan-techniques are labeled as "hansokumake"-techniques in shiai.

  • @boredinho Absolutely agree with you mate... Judo is a defensive art and discuss what is better to beat someone is plain wrong

  • @tuga1889 I disagree... i don't believe judo is a Defensive art... it is both an offensive and defensive sport... Some can train to own it as a fighting style such as Karo Parysian has

  • @SlugDropsonheads And Hecor lombard and Yoshihiro Akiyama

  • @PankrationWarrior nice... i just looked them up MAN those are some sick dudes!

  • @SlugDropsonheads Yeah, Hector Lombard is a beast.
