@sgtghost825 It's more of a muzzle brake, if it were a flash hider it wouldn't be CA legal, that's why the M1A1 variant doesn't have the standard flash hider.
im in a fued with this or a AR-15... ive seen the .223/5.56 in action and lets just say its a questionable 1 hit drop at best, which is why im looking at this for a main WROL gun... the problem is i HATE rifle stocks.. gotta have a "AR-15" pistol grip stock... i couldnt find this kind of stock for it and was wondering if you had better luck? thnx
You Americans are so lucky, I would love one of these rifles but in Australia we have tight gun laws that are getting even tighter for the average citizen. All we can have are bolt actions with five rounds, and getting a pistol is just about impossible. God Bless America!
@fjcaron Dont tempt me too much mate, id pack up the family and be over there in a heartbeat just for the awesome firepower you guys can get. Australia is just too good leave and we love Americans so the welcome goes both ways if you don't mind shooting with bolt action.
this rifle is one of my favorite rifles in my collection.. I love it way more than my AR-10 That fires the same cartridge!! Thumbs up for the SocomII .. i think every American should have one in his home to defend life/liberty/and family!!
Nice, thanks for the quick reply I just picked up a 50 round drum type magazine for it but I have had some trouble finding reliable 20 Rounders without spending factory money the only issue I have ever is a few extraction issues and had to replace it with usgi,s version but that was also 4000 rounds later lol
I own one of these and its a great weapon I saw in the video a couple of hiccups I was wondering what that was about I have not experienced anything like that any ideas
@lionsfromlambs Those magazines haven't been used in ages, I've had them for quite a while, pre-bans and they were tight to fit into the mag well, that was the only hiccupp I had. Otherwise the rifle shoots flawlessly.
@badassrover There's some difference, but not by much, it's a great rifle, easy to acquire your targets, I love it and highly recommend it for anyone if they want to layout the bucks to buy one.
It really looks like that rifle has little recoil despite being .308. Looks like the sights come down fast and is very easy to control. Every time I see vids of this rifle I become even more tempted! Too bad .30 is so damn expensive.
@bsrman36 I'll tell you as pricey as it is, shop around, I ended up getting it from a shop in PA and had it shipped to my FFL here in CA, I got it for 1700, here in CA it's 1900 if you can find one, every time my FFL and the others around here get one, they are snapped up quick like. Also we were shooting the Russian ammo Brown Bear, which proved to be quite reliable in this rifle, fairly clean burning, compared to Wolf, and it's not that expensive for a case of 1,000 rounds.
That's a fine gun. I'd like to try my luck with one of those some day. Looks like you guys had fun! I need to go back to the east side of the state where there's lots of room to do some long distance shooting.

@skywayghost929 Check for the SAGE stock, they make one as your asking for and they make a solid stock version, really cool stuff.
