there is a question that is being asked at the very end of the clip... sounds interesting, would like to know what follows and what their response is! by any chance, do you have the missing parts? there also seems to be a segment missing before anurenu paripoorna ...
i wonder why some one put spam to my post where i gave full text in telugu and its meaning in english for " nigama nigamantha varnitha " padam of annamayya. u asked me to tell about the song and wen i gave the text and meaning u put the spam to that post?? what is this?? amazing net culture!!

sure Mr. pillay!! first of all i didnt understand from where the discussion was started because priya sisters sang this song with correct pronounciation. but i observed many well known singers [ most of them non telugu]..pronouncing wrongly which some times gives entirely different meaning. u asked me about the meaning of this sankeertana. i published 2 volumes analysing annamacharya's padams. am giving the meaning of this padam here.
Mr. pillay, dont averse to criticm..if there is no criticm there is no improvement in any art. and good pronounciation is part of their singing and any proffessional singer must get trained in the language too sincee language is as important as sangeetham. and moreover it is those saint poets emotion is in those words. so people must realise how important it is to utter those great poets diction. please respect tyagaraja ..annamaachaarya and purandaradasa. thank u. and god bless u.
This his not a video on telugu l;iterature but music and no singer claim to be a perfect in pronounciation specially those grew up in tamil nadu singing telugu songs. Unless you sing and show your talent there is no point in wasting your energy on criticing singers .it does nto cut ice. can you write the lyric for anthayu neeve- there are several versons.
theres no doubt.. they are great singers! but is it a mistake to correct them? Keep watching padutha theeyaga... Even SPBalu says so... Why most of us believe that telugu songs should be sung by the singers who knows telugu? because they pronounce the words how they are supposed. When you criticize your CM, PM, Sachin, do you step into their shoes & show they how to do? i dont need to sing it, if you can understand difference between ష్రీనివాస్ & శ్రీనివాస్, u can make it!
Actually I find that many Telugu people don't know the difference between "sa", and శ. Many pronounce "sa" instead of శ. What Priya sisters have pronounced as శ is correct. We all know how to pronounce "sa". When you say శ the air is pushed towards the teeth with the tongue pushed little more forward touching the lower base (there is a subtle sound of "h" added to it). ష is pronounced with the tongue raised little up and placed little back when compared with "sa".

I request not to comment on any faults. One has to understand their one mistakes and should be correcting it. All are not perfect except Sriman Narayana. Learn to appreciate this great voice irrespective of any verbal mistakes. Lord Venkatesha will sure accept this song in terms of prayers or garland of prayers to say the right way.
I completely agree to what Srinivas said. In Telugu ష and శ are two different letters having two different pronunciations(phonetics). When it comes to the song, it was definitely good. But it could have been better, if there were no such pronunciation mistakes.
actually i dont know priya sisters. probably im not fan of them to accept whatever they sing. I was in telugu medium upto 10th, i can clearly differentiate between ష & శ.
i always feel bad when northies call me ష్రీనివాస్ instead of శ్రీనివాస్.
in telugu every letter has unique sound. so no two letter can have same sound. probably u should check with some telugu pundit. please let me know if im wrong.
PS: im not a habitual fault finder, but a common classical music lover.
why are they saying ష for శ every time? Are these from North? balu is better in Annamayya... without knowing telugu language chitra is also much better than these sisters!
@skarlapudi Sir ! Please do not get me on the wrong end as I may not know more than you do in terms of Telugu literature, but one thing for sure that శ is pronounced as ష, else why would SIVAM in Telugu would be pronounced as SHIVAM ? May be you should check yourself on this to get clarified.
One more thing, these sisters are actually Telugu speaking but they've settled according to what I know, in Tamil Nadu.
@skarlapudi could you please sing yourself and post it .Let us know what you mean by difference. It does not matter if not musical but even not musical would do. Thanks. They are great singers and i dont care if they pronounce not ly correctly..
@vjpillay am fully agree with u. language is a tool and a very important tool to show ones talent . and singers how much talent they have but if they cannot pronounce a word correctly its difficult for that linguistic group to listen that song and its like when u eat good payasam with stones in it..how u feel the the same with wrong way of uttering a letter.
@ajayaprabha Give them a break. They are singers not lingisiticv experts. Can you sing and put on you tube? They are famous for their very cultured voice not critical voice.Thak god there are tolerant people in the world who are good apprecaiting music to ignore minor deviations in prounouncations.
Annamaiah finds fault with his lord saying that he is pushed into the mire of worldly entanglements due to the Maya of the Lord. Oh Narayana, the Vedas and the Vedic philosophy extole your fascinating form. You lifted the Govardhana mountain. You are reluctant to bestow me with the happiness of renunciation. You are binding me in the worldly bonds. Oh Narayana, will my appeals ever reach you?
When I lost peace of mind due to disgust, You are confusing me with your leelas(sports) Are others entangled in various karmas comparable to me?
Instead of pulling me out of the entanglements, You are confusing me. Oh Sree Venkateswara,Oh Narayana the butter thief, You are adored by Indra the king of Devatas.
