Anyone know how I can transfer pictures and music from my pc to the dare? I don't have the internet service, so I can't do that. But I can connect to the PC via usb, but all I can do is charge it currently.

I talked to this guy that works at verizon and at&t and he said he just got this phone and said it is way better than the iphone. He said the iphones have been known to stop working. He said his girlfriend got the iphone and she took it back after a week. I'm planning on geting this phone. Thanks for the review! it was really interesting!

Another thing you can do for ringtones is do the method drewballz introduced, you use audacity to trim the music, then put the music in your My sounds on the dare, then send the sound to yourself via text and set the sound as a ringtone.

$409 and it isn't a website. I simply said you take your music mp3s and run them through a program called Audacity. This allows you to trim the file to the 20-30 sec clip you want. You are left with a 350kb-400kb mp3 file that you can attach to an email to your phone.

if you google a bit you can get programs such as bitpim that allow you to take your own music (protected music from itunes does not work) and turn it into a ringtone without using the internet on your phone..bitpim worked for my voyager..getting Dare in a couple days don't know if they've cracked that phone yet. Also, 350-400 kb is pretty big..with bitpim you can trim it down (100 +) on your phone so that it doesn't take up as much memory.

Because I am on a family plan and I've only had my black Alias for about 11 months but I want the Dare super badly. So, do you think I could convince my parents to call and ask about getting the dare? What would they have to say?

My phone already has tons of scratches and is slow/when i rotate from vertical/horizontal view it stays in the first view (and vice versa)!

i had the samsung i760 which i have on ebay right now(290251391663)im on a family plan too wit my girl and she has the old u740 and her's is screwed up a little and i did the samething with her's but i didnt have another $250. the only thing u could do is get verizon to send u a replacement of what u have and put it on ebay and buy the dare for $250 after u complain about the phone u have now

I'm still a bit confused. Do you ever activate/use the one they send you as a replacement? Like, do you just get it and sell it right away and then complain AGAIN and ask for the Dare instead? Should you just be like.. "We're sick of this phone and don't want to continue using it. Can we just get the Dare for the discounted price?"

I bought this phone yesterday. The texting at first was a hassle. However, once I calibrated the touch screen the right way, I have zero issues. When you calibrate, use a stylus or something pointy and touch the dot that's right in the middle of the crosshairs. Once you do that texting and everything else will be a breeze.

It is good. It depends on what you will be doing though, of course. If you don't browse the web very much or take photos or watch videos, it will last a veryyy long time. I usually charge it once every two days because I use the browser A LOT (on the road a lot). Tonight for example, I didn't use the browser at all really, but did text and make a few calls and I still have full bars.

Any headphones. It is a standard 3.5mm jack not that garbage 2.5mm. It is flush so any type of headphones would work.

no. very few phones that I know of, NOT EVEN IPHONE, support Flash which is what is needed to play the vids.

Better quality video rendering if I had to guess. I would venture a guess that Verizon/LG has the Dare set to compress the video more and thus make it load faster, but at the cost of quality. Just a guess.

people people, the glyde, the voyager, and the dare are all almost the same. non of them suck completly. the glyde wasnt made to be a high end fone so yea it isnt as good as the dare. and the voyager is good, its just a couple features short of the dare. and the dare doesnt suck, ur mom does.

the glyde sux. the glyde has by far the worst touch screen of any phone. so many of my friends have returned the glyde because of this. jayj this was a good video.. well done. my dare comes in on monday :) this vid helped alot

My contract also expires in two months and I am trying to decide between the voyager and the dare. Which would you suggest and why? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it kind of seems like the dare would be a pain to carry around because it seems like a huge brick. Nice review!

if you want a physical keyboard, you need the voyager. if you dont mind a virtual keyboard, the dare is the better phone. it has a better user interface, and camera. btw, the dare is considerably smaller than the voyager

Good review, I enjoyed it. One question though - when you're at the main screen, does anything happen when you turn the camera on it's side? In most things the screen will turn with it, but it seemed in the review that it didn't turn or do anything different when it was just on the main screen.

I mean, not that it's a big deal, I'm still getting mine when my two year is up for renewal ^^ (grr...two more months...)

Nope, nothing happens when you turn it in the main screen.

Also, I wouldn't wait that two months. Call a VZW Customer Service Rep and tell them you are thinking about switching to a 3G iPhone because they are the same price. I have heard countless stories of the Rep immediately changing your upgrade date.

This phone looks great, when I first seen it I wasn't sure, how it was going to be but....I have only heard one bad review and that was from the infosync world guy he trashes everything that isn't an iphone. And from personal use I haven't encountered any problems. Of course, there are going to be the haters out there, but let um hate...it's an LG revolution!
