First off, this was a fairly standard murder trial. Most trials (murder and otherwise) always use circumstantial evidence (with DNA is part of). Very few are able to use direct evidence (which is an eyewitness to the crime, or an audio or video recording of the crime as it is committed).
If the prosecutor and jury were ruled by a culture of xenophobia, why was Sollecito (the son of a prominent local family) prosecuted and sentenced the same as Knox?
Why also didn't the prosecutors go after Lumumba, as soon as he was accused by Knox? Why didn't Knox's defense ever explain the DNA mixture of Knox's and Kercher's that was in the bathroom? Why didn't the defense ever substantiate and alibi for Knox or explain why she and Sollecito purchased bleach the morning after the murder? What explanation does Knox have for all these things? All she ever did consistently was lie.

Menstruation was not the explanation for the blood mixtures. Combine this with varying (unsubstantiated) alibis, Sollecito claiming Kercher was cut by a knife from his apartment found by police, when she'd never been there, and both having an alleged hashish 'fog' over anything they did the night previous.
Accusations of Anti-Americanism just don't cut it because Sollecito, an Italian, was given a similar sentence to Knox. These murderers have been put away for a long time where they belong, and I really hope that their appeal fails and they are made to serve out every single day of their sentence.

Menstruation was not the explanation for the blood mixtures. Combine this with varying (unsubstantiated) alibis, Sollecito claiming Kercher was cut by a knife from his apartment found by police, when she'd never been there, and both having an alleged hashish 'fog' over anything they did the night previous.

I think it's so bizarre that Rudy Guede was convicted last year because he wanted a speedy trial. But Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were also key suspects immediately after the murder. So shouldn't all three of them have been convicted and tried under the same courtroom? Each of them gave different accounts of the night of the murder. Rudy Guede shouldn't have been granted a speedy trial. It doesn't make sense. Would that have happened in the US or in other countries?
