  • Epic ending.

  • i like the movie ends at when Virginia was in the water looking over the glistening river, for one last look...

  • Ginger madame :)

  • Have been wanting to see this movie again for a few weeks now. Stumbled upon your postings. Thanks very much for putting it out there!!!

  • what brought me to this movie is the AMAZING film score of that wonderful piano playing! I thought, "this music is very deep, the movie must be too", and what do you know, it is!

  • I love the line..."cannot live life without confronting life." Or something like that. I need to get off YOUTUBE and talk with people. Or something like that..never mind. I'll keep typing.

  • Death or baring pain. What a wounderful movie. God thanks for the MOVIES!

  • Del minuto 2:35 al 3:14 amo la película la amo..

  • God, I'm not a lesbian, but I would definitely love to kiss Meryl Streep.

  • This is truly one of my favorite movies of all time! I have always loved the parallels of the 3 women and how we all can let ourselves get caught up in doing what everyone else needs and forget our own. Life is truly far to short and we all need a purpose if not through our job then outside of it. I have 3 boys and a husband, things get really hard sometimes but I would never imagine myself without them. But in the end we never know where we might be led in life. Thank you!

  • This movie... Words cannot describe how beautiful this movie actually is. It makes so much sense, but at the same time, I found myself crying and can't find the reason. I didn't cry when Richard died, I didn't cry when Virginia killed herself or when Laura attempted to end her life. But I started crying when Virginia read her letter at the very end. Absolutely beautiful.

  • I'm really glad I took the time to watch this. It really rang true with me. Thank you for uploading it!

  • There's a lot of brilliance here, for sure, especially in the writing and cinematic technique. But I can definitely say that I don't fully understand what the film is trying to say. For those who know this film better than me, how do you interpret it?

  • @Guigley That's a tough inquiry to reply to. I would say, this movie really humanizes what dealing with depression is like. And whether you decide to do with your life, even if it's to end it, it has to be your choice.

  • and watching this movie for about the 7th time, and still crying...

  • I would be tagged as a stupid, chauvanistic, traditional male. And still, I love this movie. A+

  • Just amazing! Can someone please also upload Black Swan?? It's time already guys!

  • Fuck, why am I crying?

  • Just as brilliant as it was when I saw it for the first time many years ago. Thanks, really!

  • I've been looking for this movie, Thanks for putting it up :)

  • Bravo! Bravo!

  • To look life in the face. Always to look life in the face. And to know it for what it is. At last- to know it, to love it for what it is... and then to put it away.

  • Thank you so much for posting this online. I have never seen it and just having finished it, I am speechless. What a beautiful movie. The script, the acting, the music...everything was perfect! Thanks again :D

  • Thanks.. still crying...

  • Beautiful movie! I think a big part of the emotions the film creates are brought forth by the wonderful music of Philip Glass.

  • Sometimes we're born into lives we dont want..we try so hard to make it the best we can but people, places, environments change us..some are lucky, some arent..life is...unique

  • nice movie about homosexuality...

  • This has to be one of the greatest movies ever made, so touching and makes you appreciate the people you have in your life and your own life. Kidman, Moore and Streep gave an outstanding performance. I know Kidman got an oscar for this but I think all three deserved an oscar for their performance in this movie.

  • Right! Movie's over!

NOW, EVERBODY, BACK TO THE KITCHEN WITH YOU! DOES DINNER COOK ITSELF THESE DAYS?!?!

  • @fenriz218 LOL...

  • When Claire Danes hugged Laura I actually started howling in tears. Is that just me?

  • @somethingswicked I always have the same reaction at that part of this movie. It is a lyrical moment, just so deep and true, so dear.

  • "Always the years between us. Always the years. Always the love. Always the hours"

  • thank you for uploading!

  • I've never quite seen a movie...more like an experience..such as this. It's moving in every-way. What depth, what emotion. The acting, score, set design, direction and casting all perfectly merged much like that cake. This is true craft & artistry...worthy of watching it at least once a yr. The music of Phillip Glass...and that song Meryl was playing when she had her "early arrival" was an aria performed by Kiri Te Kanawa "Beim Schlafengehen". Haunting and sublime simultaneously. A masterpiece

  • A beautiful movie indeed. All three actresses did a great job. Don't know why, but this kind of movies (as sad as they seem to be) always inspire me, give me the answers when I need them, make things clearer and definitely brighter. Life is so simple, and yet so complicated, and so is this movie.

I'm the one who chooses life and life only...

  • you know I related to Julianne Morres character right up until the abandonement part. Sometimes I think the only reason i stop myself is for my child.

  • I also love this film but there's something I'm afraid of. Unique feeling. Feeling of willing to die the same way.

  • i've seen this four times... never tire of it, ever..

  • This movie was beautiful. The tears kept running from the point where grown Richard shed a tear and onwards, even as I write this. I felt their pain and I feel the agony of living. Though it seems like I have everything I need, there is still something missing.

  • I think we're meant to interpret why/how these three women became depressed. I have a feeling it's due to the societies they live in, the restrictions they impose, the lack of freedom they have (mentally and perhaps physically). They always have to put on a front, an image that they are fine when underneath they are not. Virginia is working in a time where female writers were not yet the norm and marriage was a career; Laura is not satisfied with her life as a suburban housewife etc

  • I loved this movie, but I can't help feeling like I missed something . :-/

  • Great great movie

  • It's kind of confusing cuz they don't explain y these women r all depressed wen their lifes seem good n don't make anything out of those girl on girl kisses either

  • @lovableo9 it's quite the same in the novel as well, one of the great frustrations that is linked with both the movie and novel is that these women are clinically depressed but with no real reason. The only explanation I can conjure up is that in their minds they have been funnelled into their lives by society and life itself not by their concious choice (this i smore obv if u read the novel)- hence the repetitive lesbian interludes. Really the only person with a remote explanation was Richard..

  • @lovableo9 Simple answer, they were BORED

  • Its amazing how the book written by Virginia changed all the 2 woman's lives... and how its all interlinked great plot, great quotes, great story. I LOVE IT. :D

  • bravo!

  • It is a wonderrific movie!!!! :)

  • What a great movie wish there were more of these

  • why they all kissed each other??? were they lesbians?

  • A Rolls Royce of a movie-acting of nuclear proportions

  • I've seen a lot of great movies, but for some reason I dodn't get anything out of this movie. Sorry to everyone who loves it but I was really bored watching this. Not as good as I had anticipated it to be. ;(

  • Thanks to everyone who are watching this movie, and for all comments and ratings. Keep them comming! =DDDD

    loves

  • tky sssssssssooooooooo much

  • Such a good movie. Thanks for posting this i've always wanted to watch it properly :)

  • I see so much of myself in this movie. Why is it this type of person that is always so tragic? Why do they never find someone like themselves? Why is it that I can never find the answer- what next- in any portrayal of this personality?

  • @iwant2believe1 me too.. i have this sadness inside me and i do not know how to fix it. no matter what... i cnt fix it.

  • @Blaqrosse Blaqrosse, only God can fix it. I used to feel the same way, but I cried out to God and He has lifted me up. I have peace and joy now instead of pain and sadness. The Bible says He is close to the brokenhearted, and it is true. He is there with you.

  • What does it mean to regret when you have no choice?" It's what you can bare. Gives me the chills EVERYTIME

  • that closing shot of nicole kidman/virginia woolf walking into the river is fucking stunning.

  • I've watched the whole movie and I'm wondering: why had Laura Brown an unhappy marriage?

  • @yunikoon1 she was a lesbian,, maybe

  • Such an exquisite and brilliant film. Thank you!

  • R.I.P virginia wolf...R.I.P sylvia plath..R.I.P anne sexton...R.I.P to all those souls whose only way out was death:(

  • this speech here where she tells how she left her family..this was me 8 yrs ago..it was either stay and die..or leave and save my husband and kids and save my life..i cried buckets watchin this..there is so much of me in this movie..i live with the thought of ending it every day..i fight an invisible force in my mind that pushes me to death ..and all ive been doin is fightin for 8 yrs now..im very tired..

  • @butterflyz2011 - don't lose hope. never give up.

  • @butterflyz2011 what is it that made you go?

  • Just finished it. Well ... I can't find the words to explain how I feel, think it's not possible to explain. But I don't need words. The tissue I've soaked with tears (I'm not exaggerating) speaks itself. Marvelous film, one of the most touching I've ever seen.

  • Who the heck was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and won in 2003 against Julianne? Her performance COMPLETELY blew me away. She stole the film by far!!!

  • @honeebun ok just saw that it was Catherine Zeta-Jones....ummmm RIP OFF!!!!

  • I especially liked Meryl Streep in this. Such a sad but so beautiful movie.

  • luv it thanks

  • it's the most meaningful movie i have ever watched,,.i learned alot of things fom each of the characters..i will never forget this..

thank you very much for posting this movie..

  • A wonderful movie.

  • If you lot had actually read the book " Mrs Dalloway", you would probabbly understand the film better

  • * Depression is hard & it's sad when it effects the children. Wish Laura told her husband she was leaving b/c she can't take the life of housewife & mother anymore. The kids might of resented her less but at least they know exactly why she left.

  • i love how each was entwined together.

  • I love how all these movies were entwined together.

  • I love this film. Thank you for uploading it!!!

  • That was such a beautiful film. Very, very sad. Everything was absolutely lovely.

  • I remember I cried when I saw this film!!!

Now, I just cry whenever I listen to the soundtrack by Philip Glass!!! Thank you ever so for this upload!!!

  • this movie was depressing...can someone explain the moral of the story..i knew all along that julianne moore was richars mother.

    hmmm.... it was still interesting

  • @SoYahYah.., three depressed women, unhappy & 2 of them were suicidal. Also I think they were in the closet except for Streep's character...I can't see the moral of the story either.

  • I can't say thanks enough for posting this movie up, even though it's in pieces. It's the only movie I could find from a list of three that I had to write a paper on that was free to watch here on youtube. Thank you SO MUCH. You may have just saved my grade. *hugs*

  • @ShiroJinja

what were the other two films?

  • Thank you. Most sincerely.

  • I honestly can't thank you enough for this, Annie.

--The most beautiful film ever made.
