Incidentally, this is from the series' pilot episode (although it was broadcast on December 10, 1965, three months after its premiere), "The Grey Lady".
R.I.P. Anne Francis ((1931- 2 Jan. 2011) . . . and too her tall handsome male antagonist in this scene, veteran Hollywood lead* and character actor Kevin McCarthy (1914- 9/11/2010).
I was about 11 when this show came out, I remember Anne Francis being interviewed in tv guide about her Karate training, and I also remember she badly injured her back in a fight scene, I am male, but when I saw what she could do I wanted to study Karate and have now for 37 years, Thanks Anne (Honey), has anyone noticed there are now more female or male heros on TV?
" I see three bodies on the floor by the end of the fight the host shows. Did she take them all down?"
As i remember, they whre shoot by the guy she finishes, seconds before this video starts honey kicks the gun out of his hand, than he takes his jacket off with the words "okay playing your game miss west" and shows his karateskills.
"HONEY WEST" was produced by Aaron Spelling/Four Star TV for ABC in 1965-'66. Spelling claimed the reason the series only lasted a season was because "{Honey} was too sugar-coated...she wasn't daring enough". Unlike Emma Peel, Honey depended more on HER partner, Sam Bolt, to get her out of extremely tight situations......
@fromthesidelines More a case of having been "written out" by the end of 30 episodes. What more could they do with the principal characters that they hadn't already done? By the end, with rate exception, the episodes were too formulaic. (And you could see it early in the series, too, by the time you get to episodes 8, 9, 10). That much said, it was a good series, with good principals (Anne Francis, John Ericson, Irene Hervey, and, of course, Bruce), and some good episodes and guest turns.
Fight scene very similar to the Avenger's episode "What the Butler Saw" in which Emma Peels also battles a butler trained in Hand to Hand combat. the Honey West one was better.
Diana Rigg had a female AND male double for her fight scenes on The Avengers. The only one who didn't use any doubles at all was Honor Blackman on Seasons 2 and 3 of The Avengers.
Not a movie but a sixties TV show I think called Honey West. She had a big cat for a pet as well, apparently the show got pulled when the 'The Avengersw' came along.
ABC had just acquired the rights to The Avengers and decided that two butt-kicking females was one too many. Plus the fact that it was cheaper to buy the UK import than continue production costs on a domestic show.

I don't think Charlie's ANgels ever had a full contact fight like in this magnitude.

@TurnOffTard It was. Sadly it only lasted one season. About 30 episodes. I love it still to this date.

Are you sure about that? I see three bodies on the floor by the end of the fight the host shows. Did she take them all down?

I hate to ruin the fun but they often used a guy wearing a blond wig to do many of the real judo throws. But Anne Francis is cute and sexy.

You just made every man who sees this video lose their erection.

So true seductive hunter. But it is not like it is the double throughout the whole scene. Just the fight.
