  • Broadband in 2010?

Broadband is so 1995, Sweden had fiber in 1999.:P

  • I had comcast for about 4 years, The only thing that sucks is the tv cause the box keeps fucking freezing, But my internet is awesome, fast, and i'm still free to Rome the HOLE internet.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=7gmvGyg82DQ&feature=feedf

  • Awesome. The people running our country don't think that we should have the right to the speed we pay for.

I'm going to start an ISP, offer 1Gbps download and upload speeds but I'm going to cap every single web site so you can only access it at 56Kbps. It's okay according to the people running America. Stupid stupid stupid.

  • Isnt the fcc the same guys who bleep stand up comedians? which pretty much makes me change the channel late at night because that pretty much makes the whole act a stand bleep at comedy central well i dont want the same morons controlling my internet thank you very much.

  • @Orisha1990

The FCC(federal cunt club) is everywhere. They bleep out comedians, they silence raidio jocks and they decide what you can listen to and what you can say. I am not being a troll when I say that anyone who works for the fcc should take a bullet to their fuckign heads. I fuckig HATE the fcc, theyre the new age fucking Nazis and they should die on a fucking bon fire.

  • Oh god I just switched to Comcast 2 weeks ago..

  • If the FCC had won, it would just prey on more people. So instead of federal regulators taking away your freedom, you have big corporations taking away your freedom. Choose your poison.

  • @InMooseWeTrust That is not true. At all. If the FCC wins, then we can remain the way we are, accessing any site or resource at the same rate. If comcast wins, then you can kiss goodbye to accessing all sites at the same speed. If comcast wins, then you can kiss goodbye to the freedom that the internet allows. Forget about all of the other stuff that the FCC does that's stupid, they are in favor of keeping the internet open with equal access to everyone. The telecoms are not. Seriously.

  • I'm a libertarian when it comes to political ideals, but the FCC is right when it comes to net neutrality. Comcast has a complete monopoly on broadband Internet in many areas of the country, and a biopoly in others. They're lying to consumers when they advertise high speed Internet connections, but then slow down access to sites they don't like, or that don't give them kickbacks.

  • @gyrfalcon Most monopolies (Comcast included) are monopolies because of the predatory regulatory system that puts significant barriers to entry.

  • Comcast is an evil beast that needs to be destroyed...

  • FCC is for old people and bible thumpin children that cant learn a bad word because their parents think the enlgish language has some "EVIL" words

  • We currently see the childish little battles ISPs get into now when they de-peer someone and parts of the internet become disconnected. I can not imagine it is in anyone's favor long term, to not have net neutrality. I think Comcast's position is short sited. And when someone gets disconnected from them, let's fill their customer service phone lines with complaints so they understand. Admittedly, Comcast may have enough connections so that actual disconnection are rare.

  • is this good news or bad news for internet freedom ?

  • @cujo9 ... BAD NEWS... It basically means that your Internet "provider" can slow down applications it doesn't like. They'll still provide you with access, but they'll control who you access at fast speeds. Which is bogus since they're selling you a pipe.

  • Eliminate the FCC !!

  • @LibertaerUeberAlles I guess you are going to enjoy your ISP controlling your internet content. It is a fascist corporation takeover of the internet.

  • @travis1010411

I'm in favor of having more ISPs, not more government control. What's next, censorship by the FCC?

  • @travis1010411

If I'm not mistaken, the network infrastructure provider and service provider are the same. For example, Verizon supplies both, the fiber optic cabling and the internet service.

Instead, these functions should be separate like they are in Germany, where one company (Deutsche Telekom) handles the infrastructure and there is a multitude of ISPs from which to choose.

Unfortunately, instead of fixing what's actually wrong, the "Progressive" "solution" is to simply add more govt.

  • @travis1010411 ,libertaerueberalles is all for a Fascist state he doesn't care if you want a free internet, free of corporation meddling and controlling of it,the FCC with Obama's support will free us from these thieves and gangsters that think that they own us.

  • Ah, yes. The future of internet. CNN's website loads in a fraction of a second, where RT takes 12 minutes per page. I hate corporations.
