While some say the GXP is about as fast as the MX5, the GXP's softer suspension settings give it a slower slalom time. Performance wise they are close though. Still the GXP costs less and offers more performance options when you custom build one and have it shipped. With wheels, tires, air, cold intake and engine the GXP was 28000. A similar MX5 with a body kit and was 29200.

I hate paddle shifters. That isnt the reason though. A 6speed would be much more prefered (im aware paddles are more efficient performance wise) When the tranny breaks with the race settings on, it voids the warrenty and you need $20,000 to replace. The Z06 is superior in all areas and about the same price give or take a few thousand. I love skylines and im sad to say its only Positive aspects are its amazing heritage and more unique. It really isnt a bad car but they could have made it greater.

I agree with you about the transmission. However the GTR is a far more comfortable car than the corvette, it has 4 seats and a bigger trunk. Plus all that technology that has gone into it probably makes it one of the most advanced cars in the world. For all of that I think it's extremely good value for money. The corvette IS more of a driver's car but it's meat and pie in terms of technology when compared to the GTR. That being said ; if I had the $ to buy either I'd still probably go for a z06
