This movie...borrows a lot from Amadeus. Ed Harris's lines and voice inflection at 7:00, for instance. Sound familiar? "He gave me that longing...and then made me mute. Why? Tell me that. If He didn't want me to praise him with music, why implant the desire? Like a lust in my body! And then deny me the talent?"
@PunkoutPurple yeah, there was no woman. there was only Beethoven, don't trust this movie, it's FULL of mistakes. e.g. the name 'moonlight sonata' wasn't given to that particular piece untill after his death, beethoven was completely deaf at this time in his life, and NO ONE could ever correct his work.
@DominoFlare Unless you can point to a historian or a historical book that supports your claim, I am afraid you are lying and trying to feel good about lying. People like you will believe any stupidity that supports their political correctness. I am expecting the next movie in which Newton's servant girl invented Calculus and the laws of motion, and Newton brazenly stole her credit.
beethoven was a freemason. just because he wrote the greatest music of all time does not give someone permission to assume things about his character. the symbol of freemasonry is a compass and rule indicate that beethoven was not a precursor of the hippies or anything like that. he would've been apollonian rather than dionysian. he enjoyed drink, but who doesn't? this movie is hollywood crap
@clubsandwedge it is not absolutely known that he was a freemason. nevertheless I agree the script to this film is typical hollywood nonsense and galls anyone with a real knowledge of beethoven and his family.
What is the name of the piece at 4:08?

ahh this movie is feminist nonsense. The feminists had to invent a woman in Beethoven's life who write his music for him.

@Adamalgorithm many genious had talented women in their lives, most of them, never recognized. I´m not saying this is the case but it´s a fact.
