When I had this virus, combofix completely removed the rogue and malwarebytes' found the last bit and cleaned it off. I haven't used my computer since, since IE kept saying that I would "exit a secure internet connection......" oh well.
Also, I have windows vista and the cursor constantly has the circle thingy by it, like it's loading something. There is no virus. Info?

@2402ct1 If the Ad-Aware is free then you should uninstall it and reinstall it later when combofix is done. You should not continue anyway. It would be very dangerous if Combofix has warned you.
@2402ct1 Well, I had actually continued with it and my computer still works.....yes, the Ad-Aware is free, I had help from a relative who is very risk-taking, and we just went with it because the feature was turned off anyway..... I think it may have done SOME damage because IE says that I will be exiting a secure internet connection, but I'm going to update my windows sometime.... thank you for the help. :)

The google redirect virus that was plaguing my life for the past week is now GONE!! :) Nothing else worked. I am beyond a novice so I was pretty sceptical running it by myself but you pretty much made it a piece of cake.

@21centuryg Some fix tool can change registry key by accident Like XP antivirus 2008 also change control panel registry key :if fix tool remove the control panel regkey ur computer will get damage
This is the best maleware fixing programs. This program is amazing!! I have had over 10 maleware viruses such as this and they have all been removed easily!! Thumbs up to show people :D
@CheeseTomatoe It's called a virtual machine, he uses vm workstation that costs money, free alternatives are vmware or Microsoft virtual machine 2007, they are both free.
I tried more times with this in saffe mode and without but I wont do a thing but what apperas to happen is that i block windows time to run and let it run for 7 hours -nada it didnt get past the first stage thus not even comlete stage 1 and when i try to turn it off the motherboard is yelling(beeping).
it didnt work, the computer was unresponsive after 1 hour and 20 min (i was away) and combofix was still doing something and i could not get taskmanager up , so i turned power off ( yes all security software was turned off before run) - should i call this ..crap

combofix is a last resort imo but it can remove some of the nastier viruses that other stuff cant, hijackthis is always the first step to a pc expert, combofix is usually the last if nothing else worked
I turn the PC in Safe mode, I unistall or disable the antivirus/firewall/antimalware/anitspyware stuff, run combofix, wait, reboots my computer, I download Malwarebytes, fullscan, delte objects, restart computer and then... that's it?
@Trexmaster12 Pretty much. MalwareBytes by itself removes a lot of malicious files, but if it can't handle it, RKill, RogueKiller, or ComboFix will do the job
Umm, I was pretty sure Combofix was 100% ok to use as long as you weren't using a VMware or virtual box; their own site, bleepingcomputer, even says that you should not run it on a virtual machine.
@TechnologyGod -_- ... that doesen't mean it's a virus, that's falsepositive alert, unless you downloaded the fake version of it. Also some rootkit removal tools I use cause alerts. And btw, AVG is bad.

Its called a false positive. It thinks its a virus because combofix tampers with your pc alot but in a good way to fix problems but the antivirus avg doesnt understand that
I had used combofix to clean 36 computer it always work (except for Virut infected PCs ,I had to use stinger 'that burned on a CD' so that virut couldn't infect it ).

Hello Matt , 2 days ago it seemed I got infections from usb drive , every thing is good but I can't connect to internet (wireless) Motorola USB Device , anyway ..I ran combofix , once it finished stage 50 , combofix said "Access Denied " combofix will exit now ?!!!!!!....I made full system scan with K.I.S 2010 , it removed a worm from system volume but it didn't work at all ...
Since malware often instal them selves to Windows folder and it's subfolders you can you few simple batch commands to remove most of them.
First if you know you don't have any malware use command attrib +S +H %windir%\* /S /D to make all files in Windows folder and it's subfolders hidden and system files.
When you get infected.. the files created by malware aren't usually hidden so you can use command dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt to create a list of new files.
Then you can use a scriptable malware remover like Threat Killer or The Avenger to delete the files and folders. Note that the dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt command might also list safe files and folders.
Which windows do you have? I have XP. Atleast in Windows 7 some commands are different.
attrib +S +H %windir%\* /S /D
command hides all files and folders in windows folder and it's subfolders. This is just to "mark" the safe files. You must do that when you're not infected yet.
dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt
makes a list of unhidden files in windows folder and it's subfolders into a text file called NewFiles.
I actually get that mesage too. It comes after the dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt command right? I have no idea lol. But the command works anyway.
The text file will be located in same folder as the batch file you ran. If you ran it in cmd.exe it's in folder where you were in cmd when you ran the command.

Hey i wanted to ask a question. I had been able to "disable" the malware that i had gotten but, i read that i still need to delete the files. I ran Malwarebytes and only found one infected file. Does that mean that it is completely eliminated from my pc?
TO DELETE VIRUS--->1, reboot laptop or computer. 2, go through the back door to log in. 3, go to start menu. type in msconfig then press enter and click ok to the pop up. 4, go to startup disable everything. 5, restart your desk top or laptop and log in the normal way. 6, do the same thing on step 4 but dont disable just look for an unknown manufacturer with a weird name. 7, look in the location of the file and search and destroy meaning delete. 8, USE COMBOFIX JUST TO MAKE SURE....good luck....

@prohittas Last I've read around the net, BleepingComputer was the only place that has combofix. I'm guessing someone associated to them created the program.
Bleepingcomputer, majorgeeks, and other sites like them are helpful in trying to remove malware. You'll get help from people like Matt for FREE. You just have to be patient and follow their instructions. Combofix is hardcore. I have yet to mess with it.
@thearaban true combo fix is still usefull either way but it only for a last choice meaning if you cant remove the virus in anyway the most type of virus combofix can fix are the botnet trust me those are the biggest problems virus you wouldnt want
I really enjoy your videos, you know your shit and you don't feed ppl inaccurate information..I respect that. You remind me of myself lol, the way that I utilize just a few tools but of such a huge array..but I will say...malwarebytes is the SHIT lol...my removal kit consists of Malwarebytes, Spyware Doctor, and hi jack this to clean up nasty BHO's and startup entries etc. Also, sometimes I use a program called R-Kill...it basically kills all background processes that are associated with rogues.

Umm, I was pretty sure Combofix was 100% ok to use as long as you weren't using a VMware or virtual box; their own site, bleepingcomputer, even says that you should not run it on a virtual machine.

Combofix was detected as malware by AVG, I definitely wont be using this in the future.

@TechnologyGod -_- ... that doesen't mean it's a virus, that's falsepositive alert, unless you downloaded the fake version of it. Also some rootkit removal tools I use cause alerts. And btw, AVG is bad.

Its called a false positive. It thinks its a virus because combofix tampers with your pc alot but in a good way to fix problems but the antivirus avg doesnt understand that

@stickmandude97 you need to get your windows xp cd.
Put it in computer. Turn on pc and when you see Bios screen press F8(if dell) yours could be a different key.
Accept the agreement f8 to continue.
Continue until you see your partition then when your at the partition screen hit R to Repair. Let it repair windows and your problem should be fixed.
Make sure to download malwarebytes as soon as possible and run a quick scan to catch any viruses

I had used combofix to clean 36 computer it always work (except for Virut infected PCs ,I had to use stinger 'that burned on a CD' so that virut couldn't infect it ).
BE aware from a fake anitvirus calling it self as COMBOFIX antivirus it is a super spy

woah woah woah.... you'r client PC's should always have a Firewall. I run a Hardware based VMWare NAT - IPCop under Untangle for OSI layers 2,3, and 7 protection but that is NO excuse for not having a client firewall.

then I installed new windows on drive D , I scanned with mcafee enterprise 8.7i
it deleted the same worms that K.I.S deleted !!!!..but Mcafee kept saying "svchost .exe blocked by buffer overflow protection ,detected as: BO writable BO stack , name:C:\ Windows \systems32\svchost.exe:kernel32'loadlibrayA...
This is the first time I see combofix unable to delete a virus ?!!!!

Hello Matt , 2 days ago it seemed I got infections from usb drive , every thing is good but I can't connect to internet (wireless) Motorola USB Device , anyway ..I ran combofix , once it finished stage 50 , combofix said "Access Denied " combofix will exit now ?!!!!!!....I made full system scan with K.I.S 2010 , it removed a worm from system volume but it didn't work at all ...

Since malware often instal them selves to Windows folder and it's subfolders you can you few simple batch commands to remove most of them.
First if you know you don't have any malware use command attrib +S +H %windir%\* /S /D to make all files in Windows folder and it's subfolders hidden and system files.
When you get infected.. the files created by malware aren't usually hidden so you can use command dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt to create a list of new files.

Then you can use a scriptable malware remover like Threat Killer or The Avenger to delete the files and folders. Note that the dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt command might also list safe files and folders.

Which windows do you have? I have XP. Atleast in Windows 7 some commands are different.
attrib +S +H %windir%\* /S /D
command hides all files and folders in windows folder and it's subfolders. This is just to "mark" the safe files. You must do that when you're not infected yet.
dir %windir% /A:-S -H /B /O:E /S > NewFiles.txt
makes a list of unhidden files in windows folder and it's subfolders into a text file called NewFiles.

The text file will be located in same folder as the batch file you ran. If you ran it in cmd.exe it's in folder where you were in cmd when you ran the command.

Hey i wanted to ask a question. I had been able to "disable" the malware that i had gotten but, i read that i still need to delete the files. I ran Malwarebytes and only found one infected file. Does that mean that it is completely eliminated from my pc?

TO DELETE VIRUS--->1, reboot laptop or computer. 2, go through the back door to log in. 3, go to start menu. type in msconfig then press enter and click ok to the pop up. 4, go to startup disable everything. 5, restart your desk top or laptop and log in the normal way. 6, do the same thing on step 4 but dont disable just look for an unknown manufacturer with a weird name. 7, look in the location of the file and search and destroy meaning delete. 8, USE COMBOFIX JUST TO MAKE SURE....good luck....

@prohittas Last I've read around the net, BleepingComputer was the only place that has combofix. I'm guessing someone associated to them created the program.
Bleepingcomputer, majorgeeks, and other sites like them are helpful in trying to remove malware. You'll get help from people like Matt for FREE. You just have to be patient and follow their instructions. Combofix is hardcore. I have yet to mess with it.

I really enjoy your videos, you know your shit and you don't feed ppl inaccurate information..I respect that. You remind me of myself lol, the way that I utilize just a few tools but of such a huge array..but I will say...malwarebytes is the SHIT lol...my removal kit consists of Malwarebytes, Spyware Doctor, and hi jack this to clean up nasty BHO's and startup entries etc. Also, sometimes I use a program called R-Kill...it basically kills all background processes that are associated with rogues.
