rooneys was better, he had to re-adjust is body after the ball took a slight deflection so the ball was more behind him and it come of his BOOT with more power. with van basten he was stood more side ways on and the ball dropped more kindly on his foot, both unbelievable goals but rooney edges it especially in a game with that magnitude!.........trevor sinclairs weren't a bad en???

Van Basten's goal is slightly more overhead than Rooney's, also this one is placed at the very corner hitting the post slightly first. So technically Van Basten's goal was slightly better executed and it landed more in the top right corner and being the first one is always more special. The only better thing about Rooney's goal, is the game it was scored in was bigger. Van Basten's career lasted only 10 real years 83-93, look what he one in those years...
