Blocked HX or knackered pump. Take some advice and bin that peice of s**t if you havent already. Combis are bad enough but a Poxy Batterton as well..........
potterton lynx, oh well. look underneath boiler, on right side will be pressure gauge, if on 0 then find filling loop and top up to 1.5bar pressure, test it then, if you got it fixed already, tell me what was wrong with it,
It's gonna blow. Evacuate immediately. XD

check pump is circulating check central heating valves under boiler are open & check divertor.
its boiling because its not circulating water & it sounds dry i can hear pump chugging.
pressure under boiler gauge should read 1 bar & jump slightly when boiler pump starts.

Assert your dominance over this heap of junk and hit it with a hammer.. and then possibly run, depending on the noise ;)

no circulation in the device... the water is boiling under presure.. buy something good, throw out this crap before your pipes blow

Sounds like it's overheating. Possible causes: pump is knackered, no water in the system or divertor valve is knackered.

stuck on domestic demand so it calls for main burn even if taps are not flowing.
cant hear it clearly or see fault lights but thats the usual thing there divertors also stick.does pump have a flow switch?

either lack of circulation (pump or major blockage) or as above boiler is running dry.
