That Peacemaker really nails the perfect rock sound. Very chunky, thick but not muddy at all. Great character. I have had the Scorpion and Coyote. I liked them but was looking for the sound that you are getting from the Peacemaker. I have heard from other people that the Peacemaker is the only Mojave that gets this sound in your clip. I listened to your clip with the strat and thought the same thing. Is it that the Peacemaker just is the one that has the Mojo going?
@jackbad2 It's too bad I didn't have the Zoom Q3 recorder when I made these Peacemaker videos. That amp was BADASS, but you can't really tell with the poor quality of the videos.
I haven't heard the other Mojave amps, but I know the Peacemaker was awesome!
@jackbad2 I haven't owned it in a long time. Why? I've been a gear whore for many years, so I go through stuff quickly. But I'm slowing down now.
The Peacemaker was killer, no doubt. I rely on an effects loop nowadays for delay and a volume boost live with the band and since the Peacemaker doesn't have a loop, I sold/traded it off. But it was a killer amp for sure.
@SgtThump Like you, I have owned more stuff than I will admit. It is interesting to note that if "Gear Whores" like us could somehow go through all of the stuff, but somehow in the end do a A - B test of everything, what would we like the best and end up keeping. Unlike you, I do not have all of these clips to look at and listen to and, all things considered, which would you like to have if you were made to make a choice, just based on sound alone, not versatility or effects loops.
Thanks!!! I have a BBQ in both my '58 Reissue Les Paul and this '71 Les Paul Custom. It's ALMOST too thick in he '58, but perfect in the LP Custom. I guess I'm trying to say that there is a pretty big difference in the way the BBQ sounds in different guitars. It's probably not the best choice for an already dark guitar. But it will make a bright guitar thicken up bigtime!
I been thinking of throwing a BBQ bucker into an ash-bodied Strat project I'm doing, dunno how that'll sound but should be fun. Might get one for my Les Paul too.
I absolutely love the BBQ bridge pickup in a Les Paul. I had one in a '73 LP Custom and it rocked too (sold that guitar.) I'm seriously thinking about putting one in my '58 Reissue LP Standard. They're thick, but not muddy. They really beef up a Les Paul and I love that!
Ha ha. I saw that comment about "Jack" and was like WTF is he talking about? lol... Yeah man, Jake is in my top 2 or 3 as far as influences go. Wish I could play like him, though. :)
Hey thanks! There's a jack@ss guitar player (that term is used loosely) named Carl that feels the need to rate videos low and post comments about how much better he is than everyone else. I deleted his comment, but his low rating stayed. Oh well, I'm not really losing sleep over a low rating on a YouTube video anyway. :)
How hot is the BBQ bucker wound?

@SgtThump Do you not own the amp anymore? If not, why did you get rid of it?

did you end up trying it out on your strat? how does it sound?

not yet, i'll post a video when my strat will have the BBQ equipped

I think I'm gonna get the BBQ for my SG, cause the burstbucker pro was just way too shrill in the highs, especially with high gain.
