  • the doha is amazing...

  • hmmm canada... that just reminded me that i have tried canadian pussy... putting that on my to do list now

  • hopefully someone can answer this. What country/City was the 1st for the Olympics?

  • @GamerKidPlaysGames

Athens, Greece in 1896: the First Olympics of the Modern Era.

  • I love how everyone is arguing about expenses. But. I am glad they did not spend more. Just means more suffering on our part.

  • @Hoppus217 Stop trying to be all cool and macho, just because you're a stupid fat 5 year old gay doesn't mean you have to bash Canada. You don't see me bashing the States eh?

  • @HelloWorld492 to my dear fellow Canadians.. you have GOT TO STOP saying 'eh' ... it's so not classy! makes us sound like the Trailer Park Boys... NOT GOOD!

  • @Hoppus217 What the hell does bad security have to do with a dead guy?? He wasn't stabbed or shot! He hit a damn pole! It could happen anywhere

  • @Bunniepieluv4 I agree! atleast Canada isn't filled with Obeist people who eat mcdonalds everyday! Thats what the states are famous for fat people and racist people. I'm not saying everybody is. I know alot of people who aren't like that but I'm just really pissed about Hoppis217

  • @truevoice1002 Actually, up until the Beijing Olympics the Summer and Winter Games had about the same Opening/Closing Ceremonies budget. And that'll be the case for London, which is spending a little less than $60-million on its two Ceremonies. It isn't too far of a cry from Vancouver's $50-million.

However, you can expect the Russians to spare no expense on their Ceremonies...these types of countries tend to overspend on such events.

  • @vancouverite1989 Not so. Summer OC vs. Winter OC, the Summer Ceremonies ALWAYS have the bigger budget. See page 15 of my book, SECRETS OF THE OLYMPIC CEREMONIES, available on amazon, for a table which reveals Ceremonies budgets (Summer, Winter, Opening, Closing, etc,) all the way from Innsbruck 1976. But u r right about Sochi 2014, I am sure thier budget for Ceremonies will equal a Summer Games.

  • doe anybody plz know the name of the singer, he sung alone some kind of country music plz?

  • IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A SCIENCE BREAD ATHLETE FUCKING PUMP HIM FULL OF FUCKING ROIDS GIVE HIM CLEAN OXYGEN GIVE HIM SUPLIMENTS THAT WIDEN HIS BLOOD ARCHURYS AND KEEP HIM IN A FUCKING BOX WITH A BIG SIGN THAT SAYS DICKHEAD ON THE SIDE.

India its not you thats the problem its this fucking world, the romans where hard people they they would laugh these idiots off the face of the planet.

all you have to do india is KEEP SECURITY HIGH because the inside is done, its just flats their crying about

  • those ugly brown short flat-nosed monkeys from the philippines totally destroyed my whole olympic experience. can't you petition your government to stop them from coming to your beautiful city? FUCK FILIPINOS!!!!!!!!!

  • Muy lindo video!

    Beautiful video, pulgar arriba!

  • There was an INCREDIBLE Olympic Ceremonies in Vancouver this year. Canadian choreographers and visual artists simply stunned me. As the dancers, music, art, and culture played out before me I was simply entranced. And it was half the cost of the Bejing Ceremonies!

Thank you so much Canada for your gift to all of us. ^_^

    Greetings from Northern Minnesota, USA

  • @StarInkyness

Glad you enjoyed it, though technically the Ceremonies were only about 1/5th the cost of Beijing's. ;) Beijing's were incredible, but Vancouver also showed that you could put on a great show by showing "less is more" and thus it focused on the individual and on emotion.

  • @vancouverite1989 Oh, I didn't know that! (About the fraction of the cost) That's awesome. :) I didn't think it was any less incredible with less money.

I loved it, I don't know why everyone is saying that they sucked and that Canadians can't do anything. I guess all we can do is ignore the trolls, eh?

  • @StarInkyness

I think it has to do with simple minded folks who only enjoy "big, bangs, and booms" like what Beijing had. They aren't able to understand nor can they appreciate theatric beauty and interpretation.

  • @StarInkyness

Beijing's budget was rumoured to be $250-million for both Opening and Closing. Vancouver's was a little less than $50-million. But then, you can't really compare the Winter and Summer Ceremonies, they are both completely two different events. Though I'm sure the Russians will spare no expense for Sochi 2014 and will try to upstage Beijing.

  • @vancouverite1989

...the 5-minute rendition of the Russian National Anthem at the Vancouver Closing Ceremony was just ridiculous.

  • @Hoppus217

I know that's an old post... But Vancouver 2010 was voted the #1 winter olympics by many media outlets.

Otherwise I can't believe how moronic you sound and ignorant.

  • i loved the vancouver olympics it was the first time i have watched the winter olympic games im so glad that the uk got a gold medal at something because we dont have the facilitys to do the winter olympics WELL DONE CANADA from the United Kingdom

  • crepa

  • Why, oh why wasn´t RUSH invited to the closing ceremony? I mean, if they were and they declined, somebody please tell me, but if they weren´t...what a nasty screw up that´d be (at least Celine Dion wasn´t there either!!!!). It was like the PERFECT opportunity for Canada to show off big time...

  • Us Canadians are Proud TO Live In Canada!! Me and My Friends started singing the Anthem of Canada Right on the Streets, Right there So Many people started to sing with us and it was awesome!!! I'm Proud To be Canadian and I always Will!! 14 Golds?? I couldn't believe it at the time!!

  • @Hoppus217 You're not a real person.

  • I bet the maker of this video master b8s while watching this

  • @Hoppus217 umm dude, the death could have happened anywhere. That's why it was called an accident. He lost control and crashed, not canada's fault, could have been in europe..someone could have crashed as well and died.

  • wow very beautifull !

  • I thought Canada really did do a grat job in hosting the Olympics. Yeah there were a few minor complications but what country hasn't had those while hosting an olympics? Alot of them have had problems w/ the judges like Salt Lake did. Atlanta had complications with things to such as rain delays and judging in the gymnastics.

It's not Canada's fault things went wrong.

  • @Hoppus217

Do some proper research and fact checking, ignorant troll. The skating was delayed for just 1 hour...not the end of the world. These ice resurfacing machines were new General Electrics, and were in use for nearly a year and didn't break down until the Games. They were new models, they were environmentally friendly - running on batteries instead of gas. Your problem is with GE.

    You have been blocked.

  • @vancouverite1989 He's from swaziland who cares...His entire country is less than 200k in the longest direction...that is smaller than the size of the olympic resorts lol...Basically its like PEI but less educated, warm as hell and its per capita is less than 1/10 of Canada...so being from a nation that is soooo hot, poor, small and in Africa where 20C is considered winter..I doubt his opinion on the winter games really matters...

  • @vancouverite1989 Wasn't it something to do with them being in constant use and they had to ship in gas ones?

  • 1. There were no problems with cross-country in Whistler.

    2. There was no skating "mess", no idea what you're talking about.

    3. VANOC decided to use energy efficient ice resurfacers provided by the sponsors. The problem only resulted in a 1 hour delay, it's not the end of the world.

    4. Broadcasting "mess" in Europe and Asia? loll...I'm not even sure what that means, but any issues would be the fault of your nation's broadcaster - not Canada.

    5. The luge death was the athlete's own fault.

  • The Olympics represent the worst form of capitalism.

  • The only thing I didn't like about the ceremonies was all that inflated moose beavers lumberjacks canoe people and table hockey crapola. The 2010 Vancouver Olympics should have been Canadas chance to show they are not the stereotypes the world thinks of Canada. Unfortunetly they flaunted it like we're proud of being stereotypes. That almost made me turn my tv set off. Stereotypes are not something to be proud off and only uneducated people believe in stereotypes.

  • @UltMitSinner78 what stereotypes? lol maybe you don't get the meaning of it. We respect nature and native people the people whom we still emphasize on every our step of the way this land belong to them. Those animal are the symbolic figures of the native people.

  • @UltMitSinner78 I didn't care much for those 'crazy party decorations' either... and was it just me or was there something amiss when Michael J Fox and Catherine O'Hara were doing their bits? and I'm not a Neil Young fan so I didn't care for his performance while the cauldron was going down. I like to think of the opening ceremony more... and the mime at the start of the closing ceremony. What a great idea!

  • Now I wonder, if USA had beat us by 5 golds but Canada had got the most silver and bronze well would the USA be saying "big deal, we got the most golds". You're damn right they would. The USA would be celebrating that they got the most golds and broadcasting it all over the world. So, USA, hear this. YOU LOST, CANADA WON, keep your silver and bronze but CANADIANS LOVE THEIR GOLD

  • Well your passage kinda backfired on you. Your doing what you just said that you wouldn't do. Wow your smart. No wonder you have stupid in your name

  • You can come up with all the silly little distractions you want to but Canada got more golds than you and you're upset. Just move on and go watch NASCAR or golf, the sports Americans love the most when football isn't on.

  • Wow your postively stupid. I don't like watching sports I hate football. I like horseback riding. I'm just sticking up for my country unlike you. Also what's wrong with Americans? Canidans ans Americans are the same because we have the same lang and culture. If your canadians dont assume things about people until you know its a given fact. Wow you have a poor character. Do you like killing puppies too?

  • Americans and Canadians are very different, son. You're too young to know that. Canada is a respected nation that does not go around waging war on weak nations, whereas USA sticks its nose in everywhere. Funny you don't like sports but you're in an Olympic video. I think it is Canadians you hate, probably because we beat you in the Olympics. And as for killing puppies, did you know that an American soldier was filmed throwing a puppy off a cliff 2 years ago? So condemn your own country, not me!

  • First of all i'm not a son! No i was just bored! You think I don't like canidans! Look whose talking! Cussing all about americans and stuff! Real immature

  • @landofthegreat your = your dog bit me.... you're= you are

  • Great stuff !!!

  • Canada got more gold medals this time. hehe China and America :s dono

  • Well, at least we can be proud, and the Americans have always had people do things there way anyways (watch Axis Powers Hetalia, you'll see it there as well) but you know what? We recognize it and that's what matters.

  • Americans are acting as if they LOVE losing. And we all know that isn't true. They love finishing in first place in everything, but to finish in first place you have to have the most FIRST PLACE FNISHES. I hope I have made myself perfectly clear.

  • So... Who loves losing? Americans are trying to be good sports and which we are. Don't act like every country like's losing because it's obvious that no one likes losing! No, you get first place when you win an event. You also get first place in medal count when you have the most medals which USA does.

  • We do have the most first place finishes, that is why we won the Olympics. 2nd and 3rd means you didn't win, so how can you use that to say that you got first place. You're a sports fan and I understand that you're upset about finishing 3rd behind Canada and Germany. Just try a little harder or train more next time. China beat you in the summer games as well so let's give credit where it is due and move on.

  • yeh yeh landofthegreat, u guys had most of the medals......which equaled CRAP!! you tell me: which medal's better? Gold, Silver, or Bronze? yeh thas right - GOLD! OUR country has gotten the most gold in olmpic history and that beats ur silver and bronze anyday! Dnt wrry, the rest of america is behind ur pity ass 8-)

  • @InderpreetGill well just by that statement you let down you country and you still think that Canada is the "nicest" country. Wow is all I can say about that. Just by cussing at me show's how immature you are. When someone has more medals then someone means they are the winners just like go fish honey. I seen your picture on yourweb site. Talk about FAT! Wow your a faggot! Wow I'm glad that i have a skiny little ass guys like!

  • Look at the comments page faggot!

  • I love how we decided that in this years olympics, gold counts for more hahaha

  • @alicesqueeks They do for many countries and the IOC ranks by gold won.

  • Alicesqueeks......gold has always counted for more. It means first place. Are you stupid or something?

  • @DoinThupidThings far from it. Why do the US keep insisting they won then? They didn't bump us up in the rankings, there's nowhere that says we're in first...

  • Of course the Americans keep insisting they won. You know Americans and what they're like. Alice, as a human being would you rather place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a race? What do we as humans glorify? Since you're not that sharp let me answer that for you---we glorify GOLD. We won the hockey game and USA still insist they are better than us. Do you understand now? Give me our 14 gold over their 37 silver and bronze anyday. And the VAST majority of Canadians (and the world) agree with me.

  • I highly disagree that almost the entire world agrees with you. When has the USA EVER insisted that we are better then any country or anybody? I thought that Canadians were supposed to be the " friendlist " people on the planet? Well not anymore! You have just disregarded your country I bte your friends love you know!

  • uhhh, landofthegreat, get this through ur head - canada BEAT usa - right in ur faces, no doubt. Canadians ARE the friendliest ppl on earth, no shit, according to us, u americans are the FATTEST people on earth, so im assuming y'all were prob. eating mcdonalds while watching OUR country score the winning gold 8-)

  • Well in my opinon I think the team or country who has the most medals gets first place.

  • I know man, americans are jus f8cked up most the time.........14 gold ppl it aint rocket science!! CANADA OWNS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!! u cant even deny it

  • @MissNommer Iguess youlack taste then.

    It was a great show.

  • so the horse which lit the cauldron was never in a olympic game, wasn't it?

  • Anyone know the name of the song playing in the background at 2:01?

  • I FUCKING MISS THE OLYMPICS. Feels bad knowing it will probably never come back here.

  • @ifkch03z not in this lifetime anyway...

  • Gotta say that these were the story book games for canada or for that matter ANY host country. That being said like Torino Canada could of done a Lot more, it was another case where the athletes who had high expectations faultered and those who werent considered gold medal favorites rose to the occasion. We were expected to get 30 these games, we got 26 not bad at all but during the games i counted at least 10 more medals that we should of had. But on the bright side 14 gold makes up for it.

  • @DrKirstie,For me It all depends on the number of athletes, USA-216 Canada-205. The Canadians was excellent !

I think the Canadians are much more "health wise" and "sporty" than the Americans, more than half of that 300 million are obese. It's just sad,Canada could have had more GOLD, some of the athletes had the opportunity "Whistler was their back yard" to practice and practice, but instead a lot of them went off the tracks and was disqualified !

  • For our biddy lil population we did fantastic. Just for an example, the USA has a population of 300 million and for round numbers I'll round down Canada's population to 30 million. So the USA in essence has 10x the population as us. So if you were to extrapolate our 14 gold medals, it could theoretically be 140 gold medals hehehehe I'm just rambling.

  • what about norway, they have 4.5 million ppl and look how good they did...mind you that almost all their medals were from skiing, but still, thats pretty damm good

  • Who's house?

    Our house!

    Who's ice?

    Our ice!

    Who's gold?

    Our gold!

  • unbelievable, brilliant

  • anyone knows what group was singing the canadian anthem at the very beginning of Closing Ceremony?

  • anyone knows what was the name of one of the groups that played in the clausure of the olympic games? and what was the song they played?

    thank you

  • I loved the Olympics and Canada did a great job as host nation. I had the pleasure of visiting Ottawa back in August 2009 and Olympic fever was already high then. I picked up Olympic souvenirs for my kids that they'd never get in the states. We watched the games and cheered on the Canadians. We rooted for you guys to win Hockey - it's only right! Someday I hope to return to Canada with my family - maybe visit BC. Canada is an amazing country with gracious & wonderful people.

  • @jmtlat how nice of you to say, thank you! it's times like this when I feel bad about the Canadian-American rivalry! good on ya for being above it!

  • @jmtlat You just made me a bit prouder to be Canadian...=)

  • @jmtlat As a proud Canadian, I thank you for your kind words.

  • Usa got the most medals, except they didnt get that much gold medals as canada did.

  • no big deal wtf u talking bout most gold won ok dont talk GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • i dont whats going on here,

but for all you that said canada is making a huge deal about winning 14 medals and are embarssing themselves, should stop.

CANADA has a reason to be proud, everyone did an amazing job, but never ever has any country got so many golds, so were proud!

canada is a very supportive country and proud of everyone!

if you dont like it ,thats not our problem, but dont ever put down canada, we dont put down your country!!

    I'm proud to be Canadian!!!!

  • @StrawberryAndSalmon China = #1

  • @Freethechildren22

    well...um.

    Just sayin, be proud and...stuff.

  • GilbertsonDerick

Oh did someone not make it into the special Olympics this year. The olypics have been around for ever. Is it just because your not a good enough athlete to make it to the Olympics or is it that your so fucking fat that watching sports makes you winded or maybe your just a dick.

  • @trujilbt ,very true. they make a big deal out of this! Never ever since Canada was born, how many years ago? Canada will be 143 years old on July 1,2010. They ONLY received 14 gold on home ground. They embarrassed themselves to announced it so muchhhhhhhhhhhhh. And that song, nice song, but I would not in 143 years, buy that song !

  • Are you a Canadian? I don't think so, if you are, you are an embarrassment to this great country and the great games THESE were, and this song was awsome, go to USA, if that is how you feel, we do not need you here

  • @boetiezeelie, Whats wrong with showing a little Canadian pride Huh?. We did the best we have ever done in an Olympics so i think we are entitled to a little enthusiasm. I am 4th generation Canadian and i am proud to be Canadian, With ever thing this country offers us i don't see a problem with showing the world how much we love where we live. While your in Canada why not show a little red and white pride eh? trust me ..its fun!

  • @boetiezeelie

Dont you know that 14 gold medals is the world record? USSR 1976 year 13 golds,Norway 2002 year 13 golds,CANADA 2010 14 GOLD MEDALS!

  • Don't you know that it is a world record not to get ANY gold on home soil, It is about time !

  • but this isnt even the olympics lol.

  • I liked the closing ceremony very much, but for some reason it felt like a massvie live pop concert...

  • vancouver 2010!! 14 golds for CANADA!!!:)

  • lol@ the language used in these comments. It amazes me how eager people are to show their limited capabilities.

  • Ultramassalia, that wasn't even a song. All they said was "whooooaa, vancooouver!" several times in a row.

  • What the fuck this isn't the opening ceremonies for the Vancouver 2010. This is some gay Asian bullshit. Fag, get off YouTube

  • you are an idiot

  • yes thewhiteninja42 it's the song with the young snowboarders that I'm looking for ! I hope that someone knows this song.^^

  • WTF this isn't the opening ceremonies!

  • what was the song in the closing ceremony: it was like "thank ouver"

thank you if you find the song

    Vancouver: respect from France .

    GO CAN GO!!!

  • it sounded like ti was saying thank you thank you but i think it was saying van-couver van-couver

  • @ultrasmassalia im lookin for the same one. the one with all the snowboarders?

  • Go canada!

  • as a canadian i was embarrased over that woman dissing everyone

  • everyone was ok but the woman who was a home whore dissing the world and telling people they left a mess in canada

  • Oh David! You make me wet! You're better than Jesus! You were awarded an olympic medal, oh my!!! Oh David, I want to birth your children. Did you cure cancer too!

  • fuck you,, you are a homo, batty boi,, get a life and job in toilet

  • wtf is this? I know it was posted in December, but it can be deleted now,

  • This is just a DAvid Aitkins COMMERCIAL. Get the fkkkk OFF YouTube. We don't want to see your self-congratulatory blahblah. We want to see the ACTUAL ceremonies. I'm sooooo unhappy with your appropriating the search terms for the 2010 closing ceremonies. And BTW: the Queen is Her Majesty. Princes and Princesses are "Your Highness" .

  • I agree, this is bull$#!t

(I mean to click the thumbs up, but hit the thumbs down)

  • To all our Guests from different countries around the world who came to Vancouver: "THANK YOU!". To all our Guests from around the world who "came" to Vancouver by television, radio, the internet, etc.:"THANK YOU!". On behalf of my fellow Canadians, it has been our pleasure to host the whole world at the 2010 Winter Olympics. You are all most welcome to come back and visit, not only at Olympic events, but at anytime! Please have a safe trip home; Au Revoir and Farewell! ;o)

  • very beautiful!!!!! Canada rox!!!!!!

  • One day someone will outdo China

  • it's gonna be hard for any country to top 2010's olympics.

like the stuff was a tad all over the place but it was legit. from the torch relays to opening to closing it's been amazing all the displays and stuff. same with the 09 beijing summer olympics.

    creatively good shit.

  • So,'ve be reading the comments here and i have to say that you miss the whole point of the Olympic Games..You focus too much on the show.."I didn't like this, the other thing sucked"..BLAH BLAH BLAH! It's all about uniting the world!!Wars have to stop during the games!Btw..why do you have to compare the Opening&Closing Ceremonies??Each country has something different to present, and this is done with what they' ve got! so,stop bitching, and start appreciating! Cheers from Greece, you did well ;)

  • @Allotar sorry i wanted to write "i've been", but was out of characters :P

  • Congrats to the Canadians for pulling of the a host nation win beating Germany & the USA. I must say I am surrised that the Germans beat the USA.

  • Won't the IOC remove these, as their property?

  • Canada wins gold. As expected.

Well done to the US. Major achievement to even make it to this game. Outclassed at every position and still able to get the game to OT. You have to be a hockey fan to appreciate that achievement. Especially when it is by an opponent. Americans should be proud of their team. They came that close to beating a superior opponent playing at home.

  • To all Canucks from a lifer. Don't b cocky. We was bloody lucky. A damn good game and no later riot. So far. Be humble, like ya should be. Could be the Swiss wearing Gold. And Us, having our Silver, Bronzed.

  • But it's not us with bronze, so fuck off you twat.

  • Neil Young, of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Another proud Cheese Head.

  • what is the name of that singer that sang that song when the olympic caldrin was distinguised?

  • Is there a music artist list of who sang at the last ceremony?

  • lets keep the positive prideful movement going Canada.. going forward into a strong Canada but we need to wake up because the hangover from this will be taxes .. NO MORE TAXES ( B. C. ) .. we are a Wealthy province ... lets stop the robbery of our futures with pride of country... not pride of sport !

  • We will pay taxes. 2 things guaranteed in life. Taxes and death. Now stop complaining.

  • yeah, that´s what my dad ALWAYS says.

  • hockey is our game, like football is to you guys. that statement should be pretty obvious to you, but it looks like you've forgetten that.

  • dude, we still won. that's what counts. we got the gold medal in the end, and we all cheered. that's what counts. the USA got silver, and they looked like they were going to break down and cry like fucking little babies. that's what counts. we shined in the end and our entire nation is cheering. that's what counts.

  • justtcallmedeath - I'd have to agree....the USA team looked like bitches....but ...then again, it's hockey.

  • and also, ATRUEAMERICAN10000 i understand envy is causing you to act in this way. hey, we would too if the USA had more gold medals than us, but sorry...we broke the record for the most gold medals ever won in the winter olympics. that beats your 9. but unlike you, we wouldn't diss the USA because after all...we are CANADIAN.

  • I guess when you have little else to cheer about....Hockey is the next best thing....But, at least you're doing better than our other neighbors (the Mexicans).

  • goooooooooooooo canada wooot we knocked them down a peg!!!!!

  • the american crying for attention here is just jealous we won gold in hockey today. well, silver isn't so bad, it just means you're not the best because of course HOCKEY IS CANADA'S GAME!

  • You won in OVERTIME (barely) for a sport no one in the U.S. watches....

  • Winning is winning.. And if hockey means nothing to you.. why do you even care that we enjoy??

  • I thought they'd said the Olympics has change the minds of Canadians, well with this closing ceremony......... I doubt it....... they embarrassed the brilliant athletes. I think the money was finished !

  • i have never seen something so lame in my life. that was embarrassing!

  • the closing ceremonies were embarrassing but the opening ceremony was awesome

  • Great Best Olympic game 2010!!

  • Fantastic job Vancouver!! You have made Canada proud. Congrats to all the atheletes too...26 medals!! Awesome!!!!!

  • Canada did a brilliant job with both the opening and closing ceremonies! :)

    Go Canada! ^_^

  • What a fucking joke of a closing ceremony ! pathetic ! What happend !

  • Shut the fuck up you ignorant American!

  • Funny that some people in the US think Canadians want to be part of their country. This video is about the great Vancouver Olympics not your pathetic comments. It's obvious you are a sad little boy with nothing better to do in your empty life..I feel bad for you.

  • Keep selling us cheap medicine and so-so actors. Eh? LOL

  • "Lol "...that is all that I think when I think of the US.

  • I would offer to let you join Canada but that would be like inviting white trash relatives over for the holidays.

  • if we ever join you in USA, do we have to gain weight and start acting like total idiots? Is that what it takes to be american?

  • 1. I like the French

    2. This proves you wrong about Canadians

    3. I don't want to get fat

    4. You make the US look bad.. very bad.

  • omg the ceramonies they had was THAT boring and lame...lol what was they thinkinn. It did give me a good laugh cuz them people kept dancingg.

  • the band was called inward eye

  • they said the band was called "Inward Eye" from winipeg but i cant find that song
