do you know any online websites that provide the demo accounts? and are you allowed to choose which country's stock exchange to follow?

@thegoonist Yeup. ThinkorSwim offers a BEAUTIFUL demo account that allows you to use the actual software that you would use to trade real money. It's US equities, Forex, Futures and Commodity Futures.

Interactive Brokers (IB) doesn't have as nice a platform (charting and tools), but allows you to trade on NEARLY every exchange on the planet

@AirelonTrading ive checked out the IB site and im not sure how to get the account working? its really confusing. i dled the demo thing but you need a login. i tried getting an acc on the site but it requires some private info and im not sure if i want to provide it since im just trying it out for fun?

@thegoonist Yeup, most demo accounts provided by firms are with the understanding that you may be looking at trading and investing as a career, and therefore get all your information up front.

Looks like u recorded this in the wee hours of dawn/in the dead of night lol...

I opened a virtual account in Dec '09, bought AA, FNM, UNG, Wheat futures, saw it go green until the early Jan '10, & then got slaughtered on those positions!

I don't know how anyone could make the case that the gummit is trying to actually fix the economy like you mentioned above...

All the uptick rule would do is slow the markets velocity up right? slow it down a little bit?

If it happens I guess I will learn more about trading futures...

I'd much rather they address the real problem though. Those invisible CDO's, and the completely casino like, destructive CDS "market". If they fixed those two things? That would give some economic footing to a bottom.
