I'm on my 4th console now, and despite leaving them on for hours at a time, never had RROD, 2 had DVD Drive failures and the 3rd one was one of the original consoles which is incompatible with the latest update so I got an 360S instead

microsoft was lazy with the first line of xbox 360s. almost everyone got the red ring due to overheating. you could
1. temp fix it by wrapping it in towels and turning it on for about 15 min.
2. perm fix it by putting thermal paste under the heat sinks and replacing the x claps holding them to the motherboard with screws and rubber washers =)
3. say screw it and get a used xbox at gamestop with a 25 buck year warranty. seriously no matter how many you go through its only 25 bucks each!

Yeah It wouldn't have hurt for Microsoft to have just extended the 360's creation by another year, I've gone through 2 Red-Ringed consoles and switched over to the PS3 because of it. Sure while it gave Microsoft a head start, Sony's PS3 is creeping behind them, this is a console that was expensive at launch and didn't have a good lineup of games for a while... Now it's looking more promising than ever.

Since I've had an Xbox Elite and PS3 for the same ammount of time and I've never had this on PS3 but my Xbox has RROD'd twice. So even if this is real it's extremely rare (since me or none of my friends have ever even heard of this.)

Just go on xbox.com type in the search box red ring of death then click on the first one you see that comes up then choose how many rings you got 1, 2, 3, or 4 and it will tell you how to fix it I got the RROD 2 times and fixed it without taking apart my xbox 360

I'm on my 4th console now, and despite leaving them on for hours at a time, never had RROD, 2 had DVD Drive failures and the 3rd one was one of the original consoles which is incompatible with the latest update so I got an 360S instead

However when that failed, a week was to go by with their silence. this shows complete distrust to the customers which they should hold the uppermost. But very rarely does an individual hacker, takes down a major corporation such as sony, down, as well as jeopodizing many of the user's private information. This never happened to microsoft nor nintendo, and really should not happen to psn, had they fortified their security instead of just putting thumbs up their asses. I own a ps3, and i lost £10 on my psn account. so fuck sony.

microsoft was lazy with the first line of xbox 360s. almost everyone got the red ring due to overheating. you could
1. temp fix it by wrapping it in towels and turning it on for about 15 min.
2. perm fix it by putting thermal paste under the heat sinks and replacing the x claps holding them to the motherboard with screws and rubber washers =)
3. say screw it and get a used xbox at gamestop with a 25 buck year warranty. seriously no matter how many you go through its only 25 bucks each!

Yeah It wouldn't have hurt for Microsoft to have just extended the 360's creation by another year, I've gone through 2 Red-Ringed consoles and switched over to the PS3 because of it. Sure while it gave Microsoft a head start, Sony's PS3 is creeping behind them, this is a console that was expensive at launch and didn't have a good lineup of games for a while... Now it's looking more promising than ever.

Since I've had an Xbox Elite and PS3 for the same ammount of time and I've never had this on PS3 but my Xbox has RROD'd twice. So even if this is real it's extremely rare (since me or none of my friends have ever even heard of this.)

Just go on xbox.com type in the search box red ring of death then click on the first one you see that comes up then choose how many rings you got 1, 2, 3, or 4 and it will tell you how to fix it I got the RROD 2 times and fixed it without taking apart my xbox 360

PlayStation pretty much pioneered the vibrational controller. If you actually spent the time to play one you'd understand this and see how our console's better. It's ignorant comments like these that show that the PS3 IS superior; because our fanbase isn't made up of ignorant, uneducated fanboys.
