  • Mr. Prager strikes me as being in error or even misleading in insisting that Jehovah does not require "perfection". The issue of atonement only arises because we are imperfect and God provided a means to approach Him on the basis of an atonement system.(i.e., the Law of Moses). If one rejected or failed to correctly followed the system or to pursue the basis of atonement, there was no forgiveness or mercy. God judged the Canaanites for example; He also judged Zedikiah & the nation for idolotry

  • James and Paul are dealing with two different meanings of the word "justify." James uses it to mean how someone is shown to be righteous - it's seen through their deeds. Paul talks about how the unrighteous are made righteous, or justified. This has nothing to do with "who does God love". God loves everyone! It takes more than just being good, or doing good deeds. My point is that there is nothing man can do to save himself. Man is not qualified. Only by the blood of Jesus!

  • yes, well said &correct. Apostle Paul further explains that although the Law (both the Law of Moses & all universal good morality) is good & necessary, it is insufficient to provide justification in the sight of Jehovah. He gives the example of Father Abraham whose righteousness was imputed to Him by faith before the Law. He explains because of faith in Christ,we are dead all (not justified) to the Law of Moses & also "dead" to sin. Judaism cannot establish that the LAW still justifies

  • ALL are born sinners! There is NOTHING anyone can do to save themselves, except to accept Jesus as their Savior. The blood of Jesus Christ is the ONLY saving factor. People can be very good and just, put that will NOT secure them an eternal home in Heaven. John 4:16 - Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  • @nickayla32 Many Christians have a fixation on "by faith alone" and forget the admonishment of James:

"But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." Later, after citing the example of Abraham, James says, "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone."

I hope that all people accept Jesus as their Savior, but if they don't and follow His commands better than I do, who does God love?

  • @nickayla32 Just because you say all are born sinners doesn't make it so. You are only quoting from the New Testament. Those of us who care about religion all know exactly what the New Testament says, but you are not providing a new argument by quoting from one source.

  • I'm not a religious person, but let me just say that I find it refreshing to hear a religious person say that actions are more important than belief.

  • awesome

  • Dennis, Iike what u say in minute 5+: read this: Isaiah 57 1 Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. 2 For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die.

See Daniel 12: 1-3, too. Because the "resurrection of the dead" is a biblical teaching affirmed in the NT as well (see john 5, romans 2, matt 25.

  • OT & NT theologies are so incompatible. Plus, there is no OT precedent for Jesus being the messiah. Isaiah 53, the one most cited by Christians, actually speaks of the nation of Israel in the singular as the suffering servant. 53:10 says "he shall see offspring (zera);" Jesus had no blood offspring ('zera' means blood offspring). 53:11 says, "...by his knowledge my servant will justify many;" it should say by faith in him or by his blood, I think? People know of Jesus but don't believe in him.

  • thank u

  • By the way, I love Dennis Prager. I think he is one of brightest and clearest minds of our day. Just needed to make the correction which surprised me knowing that Dennis is a biblical scholar.

  • At 7:40 Dennis says God never demanded that we be perfect (paraphrased). In the scriptures God states "be holy for I am holy" God is a perfect being and demands that we strive for the same perfection. God also knows that humans are broken. In humanities brokenness God did something beautiful. He gave us Jesus! Jesus, fully human and fully God, lived a perfect live then sacrificed it for all humanity. He now sits at the right hand of God interceding on behalf of those who trust in him.

  • 4:45- 4:57, is a great reason why I have decided to become Jewish. and exactly why I believe christianity is a roman inspired anti-semetic religion ( though im not sure exactly how the romans have to do with it, it sure seems logical to my instincts)

  • @oilreserve I am a Christian and believe that Christians and Jews are brothers and sisters. There is no other group on the planet that has supported Jews and the Jewish state of Israel more. I don't understand the basis for the label of "roman inspired anti-semetic religion" Can you provide some evidence to back this claim?

  • @dfredstrong it's the religion adopted and spread by the romans.not willing to put my neck on the chopping block for that one though. What I would like to ask you t is this;(Leviticus 3:17) It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.

(John:6:53)Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

  • @dfredstrong , man, if you get to know the fact that Israel had stolen the land of Christian Arabs ! yes, Christian who live in the land where Jesus used to live !! what would u say now ??

these Arab Christians are THE Christians ! also Jesus never believed in building a Jew state, or any other state on the land of Jerusalem and Nazareth !! if u are a TRUE Christian you should stand with the right of people to live ! we have nothing against Jews, but Zionists, they r definitely unti-christ !!

  • Posted (religiopoliticaltalk[dot]com), thanks.

  • I like Pastore more that pompous phony Prager but where is the proof of the messiah he talks about?

  • so judiasm does have heaven and hell? my jewish history teacher misinformed me!

  • @eugdog106 Prager might as well convert to Christianity since he is the Uncle Hymie for all the Xtian bigots. He hates his identity as a Jew and incessantly panders to the lowest of evangelicals & other Xtian bigots

  • Comment removed

  • @eugdog106 Well I am glad you had the decency to remove that moronic comment. But as a Jew myself I have a problem when other Jews suck up to bigots, no matter what their and the bigot's politics are. Some Liberal/Left Jews make excuse for black & Muslim bigots while Prager makes excuses for White Xtian ones. Please try to move beyond childish binary logic like "liberal" etc.

  • @BarthBunzel Why do you assume Christians are bigots? That blanket statement is, dare I say it, bigoted.

  • @BarthBunzel Wow, that's a lot of assuming going on!

Did you even listen to the video?

Have you ever had a good listen to his radio show?

He does not shy away from the differences between the two religions, and provides clarity in a non hostile calm manner.
